Hi Ladies - I've had my Cameo for about a month and love it. Tonight I noticed it's cutting deeper on one side of the mat (the middle/right side, if it matters). I'm cutting a lot of the snowmen treat boxes and on the left side it's barely cutting through the paper. So much so that I have to use my fingernail to finish separating it. While the right side of the cutout where it scores the paper, I have to be careful so it doesn't tear as the paper is cut through pretty deep (more than just scored). Has anyone had this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Thanks for your help,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,

I just saw your post and would like to know if you resolved your issue with the Cameo. I am having the same problem every time I cut on my left side of the mat.

Thanks,
Celina

Try re-seating your blade or if your mat is dirty, maybe it has some tiny scraps of paper stuck.. Clean it off good..
That's the only thing I can think of right now..
I'm sure tech support at Silhouette can walk you through a fix..

good luck !!

Thank you crayola554. I have my Cameo since March and I have barely used it. I don't see any other issues with it (I love it ) I am going to re check everything once again, otherwise I will contact support.
Thanks!

Hi there - yes, I was able to get it resolved with CS, they are so helpful. It was the black strip that the blade cuts on (it runs parallel with the blade) and sits kind of down in the machine behind the roller bar. Well mine had been cut into when I accidentally set the blade too deep. The blade had gone through the paper, mat and cut into the black strip too causing some gouges in the black strip. If you run your fingernail over the black strip, it should be smooth. If it's not, it probably needs to be replaced. Silhouette was kind enough it send me one free of charge. Hopefully, they will do the same for you.
Good luck,
Vicky

Thank you Vicky for your quick answer!

I checked my black strip and on the size it is not cutting properly is smooth, actually it is dented and cut into it on the side the machine is cutting fine, go figure! Maybe I have an unbalanced issue with my desk, I will make more tests, then call CS.

Thanks!
