I am so excited to be doing Project Life this year! And I love all the inspiration people have been sharing in this post.

I created my title page and Week 1, and posted them on my blog, if anyone is interested. I am doing a "week in review" with each spread, and so far that is working... but it's only been a week, so that is subject to change! I don't take photos everyday, and I don't want the pressure of a Project 365. A week in review is a little less stressful for me. title page and Week 1

Anyway, I am loving this project so far and I can't wait to see everyone's layout next week!

I have been doing month-in-review pages since 2008 and have thoroughly enjoyed the process...
I just completed my very first Dec daily album and love how it turned out...I managed to keep up with the photos and journaling everyday during the very hectic festive season, so I have FINALLY decided to jump in this year and do PL
I have finished the first week (just waiting on 1 photo to be printed)

So, just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great ideas and inspiration

Love your journaling using Ali Edwards' Long Journalers. I've never seen them and am going to try to find them. I also love the page with mostly photos. They tell a great story.

I'm sorry if I missed commenting on your layouts. I intend to go through this thread again and comment on the layouts I missed. It depends if I can use the computer or not. I had surgery on my hand and wrist. I return to the doc today and see what she says for my swollen hand.

From Jenne's thread:
"1/13 Uhh Oh! It's Friday the 13th! Document any "bad luck" you had today due to the un-luckyness of the date. If nothing bad happens, take a photo that represents a superstition that you hold"

I usually have good luck on Fri, the 13th. If you are going to document the day using Jenne's prompt, how do you think you will do it?

Thanks Cindy! I really like the long journalers, but I am having problems getting them to print at full size... they print about .75 inches short. I'm sure I don't have my printer settings correct so I will play with it some more.

I am doing the Amber edition. This is the first time in almost 10 years that I've attempted paper scrapping. I have probably half a dozen unfinished digital and/or photo books on my computer.

So far I've only got 2 journaling cards written and no photos printed, so I seem to be right on track with previous years, lol! But yesterday I finally got a small batch of page protectors, just to get started, so I can at least think about laying out some pages and figure out which photos go where.

Hey all! I'm not sure if anyone has already posted this (read through the first few pages of the thread but have to get ready for work....so I'll have to read the rest later), but I am one of the many PLers out there waiting for the page protectors to come back in stock again. I did PL 2011 and completed it (woo hoo!) and loved it as a way to document the day-to-day... but it's rough with just the core kit! I want to keep with Design A because it works perfectly with the journaling cards. For those without page protectors who are waiting for them to come in stock, how are you making sure you are staying on top of things??? Looks like I will have to wait till Feb. to get them!

Hello,

Well, I'm doing exactly what I told myself not to do..stress. I tried to print on the journaling cards and because of the lines the sentences were off . I love my fonts but my handwriting (printing) will have to do. ETA: I discovered the lines on the journaling cards are so faint (thanks Becky) that printing right over them really isn't an issue at all!

Tina, your title page rocks! I miss seeing your little clouds...they always make me smile

Penny...you're almost there! I'm 98% done with week 1

Amy, your title page is too cute and your week one was so fun to look at. Lots of little details and I love the various sizes of your photos.

Craftymom101, I LOVE your approach. A week in review is really what I should do instead of a 2 page spread weekly. I'm feeling like I'm still wanting to document day by day the way I'm doing it. We'll see but I want you to know yours rocks!!

For those without page protectors who are waiting for them to come in stock, how are you making sure you are staying on top of things??? Looks like I will have to wait till Feb. to get them!
I have a few Design A but if I didn't, this is what I would do. I would get a big bag of photo corners..you know, the old fashioned ones our parents and grandparents used to use? I would put those on regular 12x12 cs in the exact same place Design A would have corners for the photos and journaling cards. Then, I'd "pretend" they were slots to put my pages together and put the photos and journaling cards in. When my protectors come in February, I'd just put them all in the corresponding places. I hope that makes sense

Okay, I'm off. BBL

Valerie,
Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog. I feel like a "week in review" approach is better for me. I take pictures most days, but I didn't want the pressure if I skipped a day, get sick, camera battery dies, etc. The week in review approach allows me to pick all photos from one or two days, journaling from random days, photos from each day... I can choose and NO PRESSURE!

For those of you who are waiting on page protectors or other supplies...

If you are taking photos with your iPhone, a tool that might help you keep up with some things during the wait is the Project 365 app. You can pop a photo and notes into the app's calendar every day. Another phone app that might help is Momento. With P#^%, you can only add one photo per day, but with Momento, you can add as many as you want, with journaling.

This way, all you will need to do when you get your supplies is print your photos and transcribe your journaling onto paper.

Hi ladies,

Here's my 1st week...Project Life Week 1

I decided to remove the "day" of the week stickers I had put on the pictures (page protector really). This way it's more like "a week in review" like craftymom101 instead of daily. Thanks for looking.

Marcy,

I blog about PL quite regularly, so I won't bore you with any of that here!

Can I join in too? I just finished my first week yesterday, and I am loving this project!

I have the cobalt kit, but I'm waiting on the page protectors like a lot of others. I had a couple of extra WRMK 6-up divided page protectors, so I'm using those for now. (They're almost the same as the "A" ones, just with all 4x6 slots.

How is everyone doing with PL? I worked on Week #2 today.

Good gosh, my family's life and mine is boring! I haven't been feeling well this week so I didn't take many pictures.

I've been tempted to do PL digital. I don't have much energy to go and pick up the pictures every week. I've thought about purchasing a photo printer but am lost. I haven't purchased a printer in 10+ years.

How is everyone doing with PL?

Loving everyone's work. I'm still not assembling week 1 or 2 - my plan is to do it monthly. Hope I don't regret that decision.

Need to put finishing touches on my title page.

But, mainly, I popped in to say my DH did an iShatter today - SO he took MY iPhone 4 and upgraded me to the 4S!!! Hello 8 megapixel camera!!! Super excited about that!

Okay - need to get off the boards and do something productive.

I am doing well with this. I am finding a bit of a rhythm. I work on my photos a few times a week (picking that day's photo, maybe adding a digital brush to it). I gather it all together early Friday morning when the kids are away and the house is quiet (sans Saturday's pic) on drop them off at my photo printing place and pick them up an hour later. I pretty much work on the album for a few hours that morning and by Sunday the only thing left is to print up Saturday's picture and get whatever journaling I need done. I know myself well enough that I know I have to stay all kinds of on top of this because if I fall behind I will just abandon it altogether.

I have finally put this down enough to work on some other crafty projects and that feels good too.

Penny I am DYING to see your work. I guess you're going to make me wait a few more weeks huh?!

I am lovin' everyone else's work - keep the blog links coming - and I am thrilled about all of the PL stuff I am finding on Pinterest. Given the sold out and unavailable status of Becky's page protectors, it seems this has caught on like wildfire this year. And to think - a little over a month ago I had no idea what Project Life was!

Oh, gosh - I'm sorry. I wish I didn't work full-time either.

My main issue is WHERE DO I PRINT MY PHOTOS NOW??!! I am seriously considering getting an Epson Charm. Other than that, I've got to find a new developer as Scrapbookpictures.com is gone.....

For those without page protectors who are waiting for them to come in stock, how are you making sure you are staying on top of things??? Looks like I will have to wait till Feb. to get them!

I'm using the 4x6 divided protectors I already had kicking around (I'm drowning in them, actually..) and just tucking the 3x4 content into the middle row of slots. It'll be easy to transfer everything to the "real" protectors once they're back in stock.

Someone asked about a photo printer... I use a Canon Selphy ES2. I like the Selphy because the cartridges have the paper and the ink all in one so I know I won't ever run out of ink. I've seen folks with the Epson photo printers posting that they aren't getting the accurate number of prints from the ink cartridges. I would find that very frustrating. As a bonus, the one I have you can get cartridges that print what they call business card size, which is really 3x4. I love love love those.

I finished week one before my core kit arrived, using just the grid line cards I'd bought for something else last year. So this will be my first week using the Clementine stuff I got. Looking forward to it.

Still waiting to put anything together till the page protectors come back in stock. I am trying to keep track daily of things and taking pictures although they haven't been daily but that's ok.
Today though we are getting snow for the first time this winter so I got pics of DD's playing in the little we have gotten so far.

Haven't made comments yet but wanted to say I am enjoying everyone's work and getting lots of inspiration.

I am really excited about Project Life... This is my first year putting the project together. I bought it last year, but it never made it out of the box. I was out of town last week so I haven't made my cover page or Week 1 yet, but I jumped right in with Week 2. I will have to finish these over the next few days.

Here is the link to my week 2! I am hoping this thread will help keep me inspired to finish all 52 weeks! I love the clementine collection. It makes it so easy to put it together. I just finished this in a few hours this afternoon.

Hi ladies,

Well, this whole project is a learning experience for me. I've discovered over the 2nd week that I "need" to journal about the photos I'm taking pictures of and not wait until Sunday. That's going to be something I'll work on next week.
I did get to scrap a 2 page layout though and I'm happy about that. I don't think I've scrapped since November. Maybe PL is giving me some incentive and mojo .

Sabrina,

I know myself well enough that I know I have to stay all kinds of on top of this because if I fall behind I will just abandon it altogether.
Oh yea, that's me too!

Cindy,

I've thought about purchasing a photo printer but am lost.
I have a Canon ip6700D. I wanted a printer for documents as well as photos. I need to print letters and Exel spreadsheets etc. I love the printer software as I can print anything from borderless 4x6, bordered 4x6, borderless 2x3, etc. all the way down to thumbprints. I love it.

Penny, so how's it coming doing PL monthly? Do you find it a more laid back approach to weekly? Or maybe you don't know yet and I should ask around June?

Okay, gotta go post my layout.

Penny - I spent two months on the fence about which phone between three- finally broke down and got the 4S. Spent today with family celebrating my mom's 80th birthday - on Riverwalk taking the barge on the new section to the Pearl Brewery - using my iphone to take pics (okay - AND my DSL in case I wasn't in love with 4S pics)

and so far, LOVING IT!

Is anyone here using Momento? Really in love with the idea but wanting to know how i can print the photo and journaling together!

Hey ya'll! Seriously behind here - it's the 19th and I've taken some photos, but done NO journaling. Been making my sketch layouts - need to get busy.

Anyway, any of you North Texas PL'ers want to get togehter to work on your project are invited to my crop next weekend, Jan. 27th-29th. I live in Wylie - Northeast of Plano. So far, it's just a couple of gals so i should have plenty of space. It will be a 'bring something to share' for food or drink. Let me know via Pea Mail if you are interested, and I'll get address and stuff to you.

Hi ladies! I'm am jumping in here with y'all! This is my first year doing PL and so far I really love it. I wish I had done it last year when my little one was little and had so many baby milestones. I still may go back and scrapbook last year in this format.

I am not doing a photo a day though, just a random collection of stuff from our week each week. Less pressure that way AND I already have a ton of stuff I want to include each week without feeling like I HAVE to include stuff. The only thing I don't like so far is that I prefer more dimension on my pages and the page protectors don't allow for that. So I've started putting some embellishments on the outside of them so that I'm more pleased with it visually.

Anyhow, here are my pages so far

This week I did a 2 page spread for the first time in like, 4 years!

Hello ladies! After a few failed attempts to photograph week 2, I finally got some glare-free photos and was able to post to my blog.

Week 2

I love looking at everyone's Project Life layouts... each one is so unique and personal. Keep up the great work!

Mornin',

So, how is everyone managing (or not) to take decent photos of their PL pages without all the dreaded glare? My scanner isn't big enough to get the whole layout in-even with stitching the two sides to create a 12x12

Thanks!

Hey ladies, I am still working on figuring out the no glare thing but it seems to work best if I stand directly over my double page spread and focus the camera ABOVE or BELOW so that flash does not hit directly on the page protectors. Does that make sense?

I'm a little late to the project life party I ordered my cobalt kit and it should be here on Tuesday.. I don't have very good faith in myself to stick to a year long project but I am seriously hoping I can this year. I'm using project life as a way to document my children's lives from week to week. I also want to show how my 5 week old has changed from week to week. Can't wait for my kit to get here on Wednesday and to get started!!

I've finished my title page and the first 2 weeks. I'm always a week behind because I upload my pictures and have to wait for the processing. Any way we could get Jaime to make this a sticky thread at the top? My spreads are nothing spectacular, especially since they include my messy handwriting. Hopefully, they'll progress throughout the year...

Erin: That pic of your puppy in the cone of shame! Poor thing!

FLCindy: Hang in there!

I don't know if you remember me from the FB group. I have problems with chronic pain & fatigue. Undiagnosed. But, not for lack of trying.

The beginning of this year has been difficult. Add in a week of a terrible cold on top of everything else & I haven't accomplished much.

Week 1 is a complete 2 page spread. There isn't a ton of pics, but I have the ideas. Just have to create them.

Week 2 & 3 will be single pages.

I have a number of pictures that need to be taken. Fortunately, they aren't time sensative. Basically, my husband's new favorite snack.

A totally frivolous purchase of popcorn that my FIL & I went together to purchase. Seriously...12 bags of specailty popcorn!

My son's report card.

I may not be starting out with a bang. But, today's a new week.

Momof1sweet-lil-lad: I know... doesn't he look pitiful!?! Rocket is only 16 months old, but three months ago his tear ducts stopped working... they think it was a side effect of a medication he took as a puppy. Anyway, our options were to have the surgery (almost $1700!!), or put him down b/c he was miserable and couldn't see. We decided to have the surgery & it worked! He looks great and he hasn't had any problems... except that darn cone! We took it off last Thursday, and he was one happy boy. He practically pranced everywhere for two days!

I love looking at everyone's pages... this thread is so inspirational! I am working on week three tonight & I should have it posted by Tuesday.
