I am starting to use my Cameo for titles and need some suggestions for cursive fonts (not too fancy) that will cut out nicely and lift off the mat without tearing.
Even when I have bolded fonts they are still too thin. I like mixing my titles using "blocky" fonts with cursive.
And yes I do have quite a few titles downloaded from the Silhouette store but I would like to make my own titles too!
Thanks in advance
Corinne

I'm interested in this, too. I couldn't even find anything I liked on dafont. Except Scriptina, and it doesn't bold and breaks easily.

I love your page Shanna! Especially the map...so cute!

I'm still working on my opening page. This gives me ideas.

Love the font too, I need to see if I have it.

Is your mat too sticky? I've cut stuff with my Cameo that I never would have dreamed of! Really small and intricate cuts (including fonts) with no trouble...

I have found it much easier to draw the thin fonts then to try to cut them. And the Cameo draws very smooth, and there are a lot of great fonts out there that are free!
I did this page with the Chomas Creations adjustable pen holder and a white gel pen to draw the font all along the outside of the page. I have the font link listed on my blog as well.

I love the fonts from Kevin and Amanda but dafonts have lots of good ones too. You just need to spend some serious time searching!
My mat is new so it may be sticky, the letters rip when I lift them off.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I have downloaded lots of them and will try them out today.
Amy I love the writing on your layout and will visit your blog to find out how to do it

Check your downloads folder. Are they in there? If you have a Mac, you'll need to add the fonts to your Font Book. If you have a PC, you can drag and drop the fonts into your Fonts folder.

One of my favorite fonts is Chopin Script but it is too delicate to cut normally so what I do it weld and then offset it. I decrease the offset (alot) to make it thicker than it would normally be but still nice and delicate looking.

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions! Much as I love to cut fonts by hand, I love letting die cut machines do it even more

Even though some fonts are difficult to cut out remember you can always write with the Cameo.
Simply use the pen holder adapter and insert a pen, or you can use the Silhouette sketch pens that fit into the blade holder so many of the fonts that you can't cut with will be useful.

Thanks for the suggestion about writing the fonts. To be honest I hadn't even thought about using pens.I just looked in the manual and it doesn't mention using pens? Do I have to buy a special holder? Perhaps I'll search on YouTube

A favorite of mine is Honey Script.

Here is a layout where I used it for the word parade. It welds together beautifully and isn't too thin.

Honey is a nice one. I've cut it a lot on vinyl and it's gorgeous. So is Saginaw and The Homestagers!

Some more of my favorites are Digs my Hart and Mr. and Mrs. Popsicle (which some may not really not be complety script fonts but still very scriptish looking) They cut nicely.

My very very favorite script font is Inspiration though. It's a commercial font, but worth every penny.

I have serious font issues. I just can't collect enough of them!!

Another thing you can do with fonts that you are unable to cut is to make it into a print and cut. Choose a shape to go around it then print the font and cut the shape.
