Just fill the reservoir and brew a cup of hot water without putting a k-cup in. That should do it.

It's in your manual, which says to run a vinegar cleaning rinse through the machine when it says prime.

Mine did this pretty frequently right from the beginning, though, and I found out through experimentation that when it says prime, I just remove the water tank for a few seconds and then replace it.

90% of the time, that takes care of the problem. If it doesn't, then I repeat the above action. 90% of the remaining times, THAT takes care of the problem.

The other one or two times, I've walked away for a few hours. When I try again, everything works fine.

Of course, this is not my idea of perfection in a coffeemaker, but I can live with it.

(IF, on the other hand, this is a one-time problem and your machine has been running fine otherwise, I would go ahead and run the vinegar through. You're supposed to do that every few months, anyway.)

Mine said prime all the time, as in after every single cup. It was a lemon! I returned it to Costco and got another one. This one works like a charm.

my 'new' Keurig is doing this to me after every single cup. I can hear it straining trying to pump up water into the system, but it doesn't seem to manage it, and then the prime message comes on and the light flashes. I can fix it by lifting the water carafe out and putting it back in, but it is annoying.

This Keurig is a replacement for my last Keurig which started to show the prime message after every cup of coffee. I got annoyed with that, phoned Keurig and they sent me a replacement model, which is doing the very same thing. Sigh. I know if I phone, they'll send me another replacement but it is a hassle, and they require an essential part of the defective Keurig to be mailed back to them. At my cost.

Pretty sure you are supposed to run the vinegar through when it says "descale."

Here are the priming instructions for the B50.

The purpose of priming it is to fill the internal tank with hot water before using it the first time.

My manual says when the prime message appears to descale with white vinegar.

mine does this once a month. I just follow the descaling directions with the vinigar and it clears it right up. This can happen more often if you have hard water or use it a lot.

I just came back (being OCD) to say that my machine doesn't do this all that often. Maybe once or twice a month when I use it daily.

I've had my little Keurig one-cup machine over 2 years, and it's never said a thing to me!

My manual says when the prime message appears to descale with white vinegar.

Strange. I just pulled out my manual to see if I was missing something and there is absolutely no mention of vinegar in the section on priming.

The best thing for the OP to do would probably be to look up the user guide for her specific model here. Perhaps there are different instructions for different models.
