The gal that puts this crop on has an internet scrapook store and brings tons of products we can purchase on sight. It is a great deal!!!
Jan, would that be Cat's Meow? They come to the crop in PA that I go to. I know you know them, I mentioned your name when I saw them last and they knew you right away! Not sure if I ever mentioned that to you. I like them and boy, that is a lot of work for them to be mobile like that but oh so great for us.
I got pics taken of my ss pressies, do I still have to go through photo bucket to post them? We put two bookcases in my playroom yesterday, one more to finish and put in there! Yay, love me some progress, as slow as it's been I'm still lovin it.
I know some of you don't sb so much anymore but my lss has started this class, 'EXTRA, EXTRA'. They do two layouts based on news topics ...and... also very cool, they provide the pictures. The class is once a month, last months topics were Occupy and the end of the war in Iraq. This month (tonight) is People's Choice Awards and the death of Osama. It's a really neat way to keep an album of country/world topic. I know Whitney Houston is one of next months, not sure of the other and I guess it will have to depend on what happens between now and then... (hopefully nothing too newsworthy!!)
Ruby, Happy Belated Birthday, I hope you had a wonderful day with your daughter and sil and of course, Miss Alyssa!!
Tracey, ummm, If you get tired of Annie cooking yummy meals for you all the time, please feel free to send them on down here for a little vacation, one pre-requisite, Beau must also come!! I would love to babysit and enjoy her cooking so that you could get a break...I know, no chance in h@ll right? and, btw, some new pictures coming our way?
I typed this hours ao and forot to hit 'submit'...

Oh my goodness! I just taught my first lotion making class. I guess it went well but oh my...so many unexpecteds! I'm the type to be ultra prepared but still felt like I was faking it half the time. But everyone seemed happy and gave good feedback. The class was an hour and a half long but I'm exhausted!
Thanks everyone for letting me spout here! |

Denise - Hope your first day is fabulous!!
Christi - I used to have a vegetable garden at my father in laws house but stopped when gas got too high. I loved it though and miss it so much. Digging in the dirt is so therapeutic to me. Plus the thrill of eating food you actually planted and grew yourself was awesome! Please post pictures so we can enjoy your harvest from afar.
My sister got officially hired at my workplace today. I have mixed feelings about it but glad she will have a higher paying job.
Yesterday my DH bought me the small clamp on OTT lamp that's on sale this week at M's. I used it last night working on the wedding invites and it was amazing the difference. I love it!
I think there was more but it's bedtime. Have a good night!

Tara::: I see that OTT light advertised in our card/scrap magazines and have wondered about buying it for ages. Hmm, you might convince me to follow through on a purchase! I find the light in the room isn't enough and wish I had a lamp. I'll look into it more.
Well, my house is pretty much packed. My office echoes! I ran out of boxes before I could do my scrap room but I have started piling things and filling my smaller boxes with all the fiddly things laying around. I have exhausted my box suppliers, so not sure who to 'hit up' next!
Since moving to Kiama, we have used the same removalist 2 or 3 times, so Colin is coming again tomorrow to quote. I will book him for next week.
I will spend this Thurs and Fri doing a last cooking service. Then I can concentrate solely on moving and cleaning this place up.
I've decided 10th March should be a good date to hand back keys. Gives us a chance to come back and clean up yards, the house, etc.

I bought myself my card and stamping magazine today. They sell them in bundles. The bonus mag is one I already have.
If you like cardmaking/stamping and would like a RAK of the extra magazine let me know. I have more than one magazine to go out, so post away!!

I was not raised observing Lent, but have always been interested. If someone who understands it could explain it, I would love to participate this year. Do I need to do something special today since it is "Fat Tuesday?" The only Fat Tuesday I ever knew was a bar in Arizona, so I think I am missing something.
There is a bit of mixed rain and snow outside today. A little to sloggy (slushy and soggy combined) for us to play outside, so I think we will do a few things inside. They really prefer being outside though.
Almost done with my taxes. First year being "my own boss" and I have a bit of apprehension. I want to do this right! I have a healthy fear for the IRS and don't want to mess with them. I taught one class for JoAnn Fabric as an independent contractor. Anyone know if that means I have to do a different type of taxes for one class? I made $35. In AZ we were told anything under $600 was considered a hobby and didn't "count" but not sure if that was just for state or both state and federal.
hmmmmm - now I am not sure, so will call a tax prep person. Hmmmm???
We are doing breakfast for lunch - baked oatmeal, peaches with cream and veggie bacon. Kids said they want breakfast for lunch, so we will see how it goes. Just missing a veggie. Hmmmmmm...
ANyway, wanted to say hello before the day got away from me!

Oh I have heard of this. Thank you for the explanation. So, now I need to pick something to fast from for 40 days? Will think on that
As a Vegetarian, would I need to fast from something besides meat or is the meat portion significant? This is in re: to the fish on Friday or no meat part of the exercise.

Howdy my humble group of awesome RAKKers! I am sorry I have been MIA for a few days - started getting sick on Friday - went to an urgent care on Sunday and am on antibiotics for Sinus Infection (NICE) and yesterday was off work to take DD to the doctor for her physical and ended up taking her and then staying in bed all day - still don't feel 100% but can't afford to take off unless I am completely in need to do so since DH doesn't get any Paid Time Off. So, with that being said the RAK box (Patti RAK box) hasn't gotten mailed yet - will do it by this weekend - and my deepest apologies for not doing my piece in getting it mailed out sooner.
Hope everyone is doing and feeling fine - I still need to catch up on threads - but since I was out yesterday work is piling up and I gotta get the pile cleaned out.
have a great day!

Morning all!
Maggie - I have looked at the Ott light for awhile. They are kind of spendy but well worth it after trying this one. The light is much better than a regular lamp.
We received a little snow last night. Ick. Supposed to get more this weekend. Double ick. Ready for Spring! |

Bunkie - 31 years is AMAZING! We are almost 5 years in on our marriage, actually maybe more like 4.5 years. This month I am not sure we will make it to 5 years without me strangling him, but I guess that is what business trips are for. I joked yesterday that it was God's way of putting us on our respective corners.
I am supposed to be dishes but am avoiding them as long as possible. Kiddos are napping/doing quiet time, so I really need to take advantage of the quiet.
Had fun taking a personality test today. Haven't done this one in YEARS but still test the same ENTJ. Any one else ever do the MB Types/Indicators test?
OK dawdling will end and dishes will be conquered!!! |

Hi girls, I have missed you these past few days...
It is nice to see Tracey, Margo, and Ami on here this week! Glad the birthday girls got my cards!
Have been working very hard on homework - have a lot due this week. Took so many notes one day that I had to ice my hand for several days to use it again...the tendonitis flared up.
Tracey, where are our Beau pictures for the week?
Denise - congrats on the job
Maggie - BREATHE! (and JUST SAY NO!)
Christine - good explanation of Lent. Clee, I can add a bit of history to help make Shrove (or Fat) Tuesday make more sense...in the middle ages, Lenten fasting rules became VERY strict. Catholics (the Protestant Reformation had not occurred, so if you were Christian, you were Catholic) were required to clear their homes of all animal products, including butter, eggs, lard, etc. No sugar, fat, or meat was to be consumed. Basically, they ate vegetables and bread and fish. That is how the tradition of "Fat" Tuesday began - everyone had a feast to finish off their goodies in one last 'hurrah' before the somber time of Lent.
Protestant Christians do not necessarily observe Lenten fasting, but it varies from denomination to denomination and church to church. We were always encouraged to "take on a discipline" instead of "give something up" - I have done it both ways. One year we (me & DH) gave up TV! We lived in an apt. and we could hear the tv of our neighbor all the time so we weren't sure it counted, lol! Other years I have given up chocolate, soda pop, and all sweets.
Examples of disciplines to take on are: a bible study; reading your bible every day for a certain amount of time; praying each day for a certain amount of time...the only stipulation is that the 'discipline' you choose helps you in some way to grow SPIRITUALLY - it is not meant to be an excuse for exercise or diet or what have you.
Well, DH is driving DD back to school tonight. She had a total meltdown this weekend & DH drove out there in the middle of the night Saturday to pick her up. Her twit of a boyfriend broke up with her (again) via text! They have been together almost 3 years and she gets a text. What a coward! Anyway, she is just having such a rough time. Being home helped her so much. We have just got to get her through this semester. If you are a praying person, could you just say a little one for her?
Kristy and Tara - your SU orders went out today! Deven & Sharon - waiting just a few days for your backorders to come. If they don't arrive soon I will just send a separate package.
Back to the homework. Doing Hamlet this week. Anyone seen the Mel Gibson version? It's great! I also wonder if anyone has seen the very modern version set in NYC with Ethan Hawke? Trying to get my hands on a copy of that...
Jan - I will be happy when I have graduated and can go to crops since I won't have homework to do!

Hi everyone!
How come no one on here missed me? Did anyone even notice I haven't been here? And no C=Val... you can't answer that! LOL!
I just back from a fast trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. My family and I had a blast. Check out my pics on facebook. It rained most of the weekend but we had a blast. We were celebrating DD's 19th birthday!
Going to try and catch up. If I miss someone, please forgive me.
Christine... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MY COPIC MARKER!!! I got it today and it is m favorite color green too! So excited! Also, I observe lent and I too need to decide what to give up for lent. I am already on a diet so I can say that. And I am not drinking much soda anymore and that is usually my number thing on list. Have you decided anything?
Angela... I hope your week gets better for you.
Val... Are you feeling any better? And thanks for the conversation the other night. Sure made riding in the car better. Too bad you couldn't make the traffic go away!
Amber... so glad you got your SS gift today.
I think that means everyone has received there's. If you have not, please let me know ASAP.
Bunkie/Tina... Happy Anniversary! 31 years is awesome!!
Margo.... Happy Birthday!!
Fishpatti... Tell DD that she will be okay. Time really does heal all wounds. And before she knows she will be over him and realize she is better off!! Heartaches at that age are never easy. Hopefully she has some good friends at school that are supportive.
Denise... great news about the job! Hope the rest of the week continues to go well.
I have an Ott light and I want a bigger one. LOL. The one I have only covers about half my scrap desk and I would like it to cover the whole area. I have a larger clip on one. It is well worth the investment.
Been a busy day for me since we just got home. Laundry, mail, picking up, etc.... Also we got new cable and I am having to learn a new remote and new channels and changing my email address. So time consuming! But oh well, we will be saving some $, so it is worth it.
Hope you are all well!! | |

Happy Birthday Ruby! I hope you have a week long happy celebration!
Tracey, I am soooooo jealous! You have a baby in the house and you have Anne to cook dinner for all of you! That was so sweet of her to offer. I need me an Anne! lol Anyone want to come cook for my family?
Sharon, being nosy like I am, I went to see the pictures of the candy table and could not see any?
Denise, glad you heard back on the new job. It's hard waiting to get started on something! I'm excited for you.
Christi, we started a garden last year and it was so pretty and fun at first. We did get lots of tomatoes and basil but the squash and peppers died... But it sure was pretty when all of it was blooming and so green. Maybe I'll try something again this year. Good luck with yours!
PinkLisa, way to go on your first class! I sooooo wish I could have been there.
Val, Hope you are feeling better soon.
Wow, Bunkie, 31 years! That is wonderful!
Happy Birthday Margo!
Amber, I LOVE the happy dance! I had forgotten about it.
Thanks Denise! I am glad they arrived in time.
Angela, I was just going to post to ask where you are. I hope things settle down for you.
Katherine, sounds like you had a good time. I have never been to Mardi Gras and I even have family that lives over there. Maybe one day. And happy birthday to your dd!
Christine, we do Lent! I haven't picked mine yet either. Do you know at what age children start to do that too?
My baby girl is no longer a baby. She offically became a teenager on Sunday. She has prepared me well since she has been practicing for a few years now. lol I am so sad I don't have a baby or even a little girl anymore. She is as tall as me! Where does the time go!? |

Don't let yesterday use up too much of today.

Hello all - As Denise said things have been wonkie here and I don't want to burden or bore anyone with the details but that is why I have not been on much.
Angela...that is SO what we are here for...we never consider anything a burden or bore....
Dena....In the Catholic Church, observing Lent begins at age 14...no meat on Ash Wednesday or Good Friday. Between 18 and 59----fasting today and Good Friday. Also....today and Good Friday we're only supposed to have one full meal. Two other smaller meatless meals are allowed and no eating between meals. |

Some people only dream of angels, I have held one in my arms.

I've been sick since Saturday..I went to work on Monday but should have stayed home. Home yesterday & today. Still feeling yucky...sore throat, congestion, body aches, coughing etc... Beginning to think its the flu. Not fun.
Angela - glad u got my little RAK!
Christine - thank you thank you thank you for my RAK! It was so nice to get happy mail when I was feeling so bad! Can't wait to use the buttons & flowers on some cards! |

thanks for the well-wishes everyone - I feel a little bit better today - wish I could just stay in bed one day - all day - and sleep it all off! But feeling better for sure!
Hey Kat - I enjoy texting with you - happy to get to know you better in between getting on here! That traffic SUCKED! Glad you had a great time in Mardi Gras - I did miss you even though you told me not to say that I missed you! I didn't even scrap over the weekend - but I page planned which is more than I have done in a LONG time! Hopefully will scrap this weekend!
Dena and I will be doing a Pea-meet this Saturday - decided I would give her the Patti RAK box when I meet her - I am so excited to finally meet a RAK PEA! woo-hoo! I will have my daughter take a picture of us (and Dena - you will not say NO) my daughter takes AWESOME pictures!
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday - I would love to hear some of your wishes for today!

Val and Dena - I am so jealous of the Pea Meet! Abgela and I are going to the scrapbook expo in Orlando in May - maybe you can come there and meet us too!
Thanks for taking over the Wednesday Wish - I can't seem to keep my days straight and I don't know how to post the picture.
Got my new stove - there is no plug in the wall - so now I have to have an electrician come and do a plug, dad has to come and remove part of the cabinet. The stove that was taken out was original to the house which was built in the late 60's I think. So my pretty new stove is sitting in the garage. Not a cook top tho.

Denise - how much is the scrapbook expo? I have seen that it is in May but can't seem to find prices/etc - Depends on cost/etc whether I can meet you guys - but seems like a great idea.
No worries on the Wednesday Wish - I just do it if I don't see anyone else has done it at the time I log on - hope you don't mind that I did it!

Quick post as I am on lunch.
Angela, I noticed you haven't been on much. Hope things turn around for you!
Denise, yea on the stove arrival, boo on the complications with it.
Are the cards going out soon? Are you still waiting for some cards?
Maggie! If things are hectic with the move I understand, no rush! I'll be thrilled whenever I get them, Thanks!! Be careful if you order an Ott from the states.....electrical connections are sometimes different out of the USA.
Amber, I do not know when the Columbiana crop is but her Cleveland crop that I'll be going to is August 11 & 12th. If a few gals sign up, maybe we could even put a few of ya up between Patti & my houses and it would keep the cost down. But be warned the continental breakfast seved at my house is a bagel! Check out her sight, it is great. CranberryCat.com

Patti - Sending a prayer for your daughter. Glad she was able to be home with you guys for the weekend.
Denise - I was excited for you to get your new stove and then saw about the plug. I hope you get it hooked up soon.
Val and Dena - Have a fun Pea meet!!
My Wednesday Wish is that I learn how to not let people walk all over me. Ugh. It's been a rough couple of days with my family. |

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.
The clouds parted at the angels sang!!!!
MY BIOPSY WAS BENIGN!!!!
Thanking the good Lord in heaven |

For those of you who honor Ash Wednesday - I heard on the Country radio station that you don't have to give up something.
Actually we honor all of Lent...just starts with Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter. We were always encouraged by our Catholic priest to do something extra....one year I went to Mass daily. Hard to do this year as it is during the day
LORI OMG....I am SOOOOO SOOOOO happy for you!! YEA!!! Praise GOD!!!
Kristy Glad you liked the goodies!!!
My Wish.. To get packed for my weekend crop!!! |

Some people only dream of angels, I have held one in my arms.

LORI::: That is GREAT news!! Boy, they took their time getting the results to you, didn't they? You must have been getting so anxious. Good to hear.
JAN::: I know it's going to get crazy soon, so I slipped into the Post Office yesterday. It's on its way! Better now, than losing it all in the packing! Enjoy.
My Life:
I got a quote yesterday for moving. We have 90 cubic metres of crap. I AM DOWNSIZING when we move!! omg. We have too much. It's going to take two trips to do it. In my head (where all dreams happen) I hoped to book late next week. Turns out the truck will arrive 7:30am Monday morning for trip one. Delivery Tuesday. Second trip is Thursday, delivery Friday. I just lost 3 days of 'organising/packing'.
I called Geek and told him Josh is going to have to lose 2 days of school because I need HIS BUTT here to help. It's too much for me to do on my own. And I ran out of boxes 2 days ago!! My life just timewarped.
ALSO: I have to spend the next 2 days cooking for a client bc he begged me to do one last cook for him. To last 2 months! I have 33 dishes to cook. He is in Sydney but I know he doesn't have the freezer space, so I managed to sway a convincing argument that I should cook it at my place and deliver it to his mum's place. She lives about 40 mins away. Much better than a 2 hour drive! Still, the timing is not the best but that just seems to be the way my life is.
I managed to mow an acre of grass last night. If that didn't burn a calorie or two, nothing will! It took me 2 and a half hours. Our next place has a strip of grass 5 feet by 12 feet. Should take me 5 mins!!
Time to hit the shower and start that cooking. It's gonna be a looong day!
Have a good one everyone!!
Oh - Wednesday Wish -
I am hoping all this stuff we own is going to fit in the house!! Geek has a large shed here FULL of stuff. It ain't gonna fit in the new place, so not sure where it's going! Maybe I can WISH that it downsizes automatically and does a tetris? Hoo boy.
