Well Hot Diggity!!!
I still haven't come across the banner ad, but saw it under the Workshop section. I'll definitely be signing up for this. For what you get--the videos, PDF's, sketches, etc., $25 is well worth it.
Thank you 2Peas, and Shimelle.

I would love to but have just spent $3000 at least on my really sick dog. Hopefully it will be available for a while and I can do it once we've saved a bit of money. I know it's only $25 but it's 25 we don't have right now. |

Yes, there are also pdf files for printing for each chapter and a reference file with sketches plus a private forum area.
I don't think there are big time constraints for signing up... looks like it is very much self-paced and a jump in when you can kind of class |

Quick question. Possibly a very silly one.
Are there only a limited amount of classes available?
This will be my first ever two peas workshop. I really don't want to miss this opportunity but I have to wait until the weekend to buy it. |

So glad to see and hear all the buzz around Shimelle's workshop - though it's not surprising!
Nanna2five, you can read more about it on the product display page here, but as a brief overview, you get:
- 42 brand new page ideas
- 5 pdf's (1 per lesson) with extensive (and entertaining!) notes on the projects
- 5 detailed videos
- 1 bonus guide with sketches + supply lists
- private message board forum for connecting with Shimelle and fellow classmates
Hope that helps! |

To those of you that started I have a weird question. What does "pretty paper" mean? Im always afraid when I see that because it makes me think of butterflies, fairies and flowers. I really dont use that kind of paper. I'm kind of assuming everyone has a different idea of pretty so it's not geared toward girly or is it? | |

Nah. Shimelle uses the term pretty paper for patterned paper. I have 2 sons so limit girly papers to a minimum but I am a paper whore and consider an awful lot of paper gorgeous so I relate |

It's self-paced, but there's a private message boards and exclusive videos- does that mean the content is e-mailed to the participants??
When you pay for the class and click on the link for the workshop (or the link they email you), it then appears with links to Chapters underneath and a discussion area under that with a few threads for discussing stuff. Right now, there are just directions for embedding images in threads directly, an introduce yourself thread, general overview, and a couple threads specific to chapter 1. Each chapter looks just like a GG video project: you see the video, other photos, supply lists, etc. but there is an additional tab called files where you can download the pdf printable supplement for each chapter. So, it is all here at 2 Peas and basically looks like the threads here in the regular forums and the projects in the regular gallery. HTH
Oh! Based on a throwaway comment by Shimelle about "this year", I am guessing they expect to keep the class going at least for several months and that you could jump in at any time but nothing specific has been said so I cannot say for sure |

You'll get a few emails to gently remind you about things, but the materials are not emailed to you. Once you purchase the class, you will automatically have access to all the materials. You can see them like you would a project in the gallery, except you'll also have a video screen in the normal layout slideshow and a click-to-download PDF.
And is there a deadline for signing up? Is this workshop only going to be available for a short period of time?
There is no deadline. It will remain available, but the samples use current products so that' something to keep in mind.
For the participants, are the videos only available for a specific time period, or do we have that content forever once we pay for the class?
You have the content forever. Go at any pace you like, any order you fancy and come back to the workshop whenever it suits you, like if you want to prepare for a cropping weekend or a big album project, for example.
The workshop is set up in a book format, so it may help to think of it that way: you're essentially purchasing a book with added video content. You can choose to read each chapter on the screen or print it out on paper if you prefer. The PDFs can be read on iPads, tablets, etc. Technically they can be viewed on an iPhone with a PDF viewer, but I think that might be too small to not be annoying. But you might disagree if your phone is your hub for most things!
To those of you that started I have a weird question. What does "pretty paper" mean?
Karen has this one absolutely right - I consider any scrapbooking papers, nice stationery, heck even cool shaped post-it notes to be "pretty paper". I am a bit girly in that I don't have sons to scrapbook - but I don't have daughters either. The page topics are no big change from the types of photos I scrapbook all the time, so you can get an idea for my paper choices by the projects in my gallery. I scrapbook a lot of travel photos, some older pictures from my own youth, some current pictures of myself and/or DH, and recent pictures of friend-type things - gatherings, weddings, birthdays, that sort of thing. I do have a significant love of butterfly embellishments, but I'm not all lace and tutus either.
I hope that helps!
We've already started scrapping and chatting on the class message board but I'll be there pretty much every day and you can jump right on in at any time. |
