I'm such a whiner!!! My car requires premium, which is soooooo lame. So I pulled into the gas station started pumping and realized I was paying $4.19/gallon. So I left after $3.67 worth of has and went to another gas station that was only $4.08. Still such a joke! That's in Lake Havasu City, AZ. I talked to my mom today, and she said she paid $4.45/gallon for 89 in San Diego. Looks like we won't be going there for summer vacation after all! I'm really getting annoyed and bummed out about these stupid gas prices!

I've got you beat. I was driving from LA to Sacramento last week, along Route 5, and had to pay $5.19 for 89 gas.

Yes, it was not a mistake.
Yes, people were taking photos of the sign.
Yes, I bought $10 and decided to try for a better town, but I needed it.
Yes, it was cheaper when I stopped in a bit, but not by much.

Wow, I'm not going to be griping about our gas prices here anymore after reading what you guys said. We're in NE Ohio and ours was $3.76 a gallon today. No more whining for me!

At the end of last week we were 1.37GBP per litre, which works out at $8.31 per US gallon. I filled my Ford Focus on Friday and it cost me 64.20GBP, which at this morning's exchange rate, is $100.52.

It's a nightmare. I basically don't drive anyplace for pleasure anymore, we have to have a reason for going.

ETA this is for bog-standard unleaded.

We're in the Portland, OR, area and have been over $4 for a while. Honestly, I don't know exactly what it is. I just hand over my card and cringe at the total on the receipt.

OP, I read your post and thought I'd be happy to pay your price for my petrol (which equates to $1.10 a litre in Aussie money). I paid $1.50 a litre this morning, which is $us6 a gallon.

But then I read Lisabb's post and Wow - imagine how much we'd both be whining if we lived in Scotland!! Lisa, you poor thing - I'll be doing a lot more walking when the Aussie price gets that high. That's about $2.05 a litre in Aussie money.

But then, I remember saying I'd sell my car if petrol ever got to $1 a litre. but here I am, still chugging along.

$1.44/L which is $5.44/gal. The closest I got to a full tank in the past year was when I put $60 in back when it was still in the $1.20 range (almost a full $1 cheaper/gal). I keep doing $30 here and there. I don't know what I'm waiting for.

$3.63/gallon is what I was seeing yesterday on the way home, here in Atlanta. As I've seen prices jump 12-18 cents sometimes in just a few hours, they may be different now.

Our jetta takes desiel it's $4.39

We had planned a cross country trip for summer to visit family. As well as a trip to DC for spring break. All of that is now on hold. At least we live in a "touristy" area so there will still be tons to do on a staycation!

3.69 to 3.75 in my area of the Twin Cities.

It fluctuates daily... which is annoying. I can pay 3.75 in the morning and by evening it could be quite a bit lower (but if you do the math, it's really not that much so I try not to let it - the fluctuating - bug me too much).

Here in NE PA, about an hour or so north of Philadelphia, most stations are anywhere from 3.69/gal to 3.75/gal. Fortunately, the grocery store gas was 3.69 the other day and I had 400 points which equals .40 off per gallon. So I paid 3.29 on Monday when I filled up.

Gas is $3.67 per gallon at the Kroger near me in metro Atlanta. We usually get a .10 discount when we use our Kroger card, so it would be $3.57. Guess our prices are not so bad for gas in the USA. It is at a far better price than it is in other countries. Guess we should be thankful for that our prices aren't higher than they are.

Fluctuate between $3.49 and $3.69. We try to get points so we have the $.10 off of every tank of gas. Probably means nothing, but it just feels better to get some discount.

I filled up at $3.53/gal the other day. In Tennessee.

DH is trying to negotiate into working from home one day a week. He and I are also going to switch cars (I will end up with the smaller one - and I've got to figure out how to fit two car seats and a booster in the back seat...that'll be interesting!) because my car gets better gas mileage.

$4.27 for 87 octane when I filled up last week in SoCal.

When I last got gas about a month ago (I don't drive much & get GREAT gas mileage in my Elantra, thank GOD!), it was $3.96.

I wish we had such gas prices in Germany. In Germany we have to pay 1,70 Euro/liter, this is about 8,50$/gallone. So driving a car is luxury.

I'm in Athena's area. I sure hope it doesn't hit $5 but won't be surprised. We were invited to a family wedding over Memorial Day weekend but it's a 5 hour drive each way. We may have to re-think going if prices continue to climb.

DH has an hour commute each way but luckily he drives a just paid off Prius. My mini-van doesn't get great mileage though.

I saw a station in Beverly Hills that had gas for $5.54 for premium yesterday. Strange thing is there were many cars getting gas there.

Most stations are $4.45 - $4.80 for premium in my So Cal beach town.

My car only takes premium so I tend to look at those prices.

It's $4.25 in the Chicago suburbs.

Prices will be getting much, much worse around here come the summer. Evidently Chicago is required to have an expensive 'mix' for our gas in the summer.

I am glad I can ride my bike to work. I have a feeling that this year I will be using my bike often.
