Diana,
I came up with a list of suggestions as well! I thought I'd throw them out there in case anyone else likes them, too.
A group of balloons
Solid butterflies/silhouettes
Dress forms
Old fashioned accordion camera
Old fashioned candlestick phone
Top hats
Mustaches
Hot air balloon
Silverware
Bee shape
Bottles/jars
Flat embroidery floss holder/bobbin (I don't sew so I don't know the true term for this!! But a lot of ribbons/twine have been coming wrapped on them)
Bunting/banners

Thanks for making some of our suggestions!! These are awesome...I will be placing an order for some of those typewriter shapes soon!!

I got my order and just have to say how FABULOUS these are in person. Love the new shapes you added, and will be placing another order soon.

I like the suggestion for the old-fashioned camera, and the balloons too.

Great work Diane...tell that DH of yours how impressed we are!

We have gotten so many great suggestions. A solid butterfly, dress forms, chandeliers among many others are on the list. We keep getting good ideas. I hope we can get some more up by the end of the week.

What she said!

I got my package today. These are so wonderful! They are made of a thinner wood than I expected, but they are so much more intricate than what shows on the screen. They're just awesome.

Thank you!!

And LOL at "Mr Diana"! He thought it was funny too.

I'm glad you like them. Some of the shapes are very intricate - the laser does an amazing job with cutting. It's fascinating to watch.

Just got a package (another..lol!) yesterday and I have to say that all of the shapes are super cute, but that small typewriter might be the cutest thing I've ever seen. That thing is absolutely gorgeous. Highly, highly recommended.

I will be ordering more when the new shapes come out.......I'm officially a wood veneer hoarder.

I think I need an intervention.

Thanks Sarita and Tina!

That is so cute!! I love how that looks. Great photo.
Someone sent me a photo where she had used metallic watercolors on the wood and it looked fantastic. The wood grain showed through, and it had a great color. Plus she backed the umbrella with patterned paper and it was also a cute look.

The creativity is fun to see. (and you can always order more!)

There was a photographer and website developer here today, so we may have a real site soon

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback. We love it.

Ooh I just thought of something else.. Would there be a way to get a "Polaroid" frame that measures a little smaller than 3x4 with a 2" window for a picture? I think it would be awesome for project life.
We could paint it or put Washi over it to customize them ourselves.
Let me know please.

Hi Maritza,
Ohh...Great idea! and that would be easy. He already has the basic shape, he can just change the sizing. I can probably have that up within a day.

Also - he's finishing up beautiful emblems for all of the armed services..Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, and general military. Those should be up soon too. Among other new shapes.

Thanks!

Can you etch on the banners that are blank in your pictures? Does he have a pattern for military dog tags and if so could those be personalized ? I am working on my fiance's Army scrapbook.

Yes - he can laser on the banners. We have done many custom labels and banners with names and dates on them. Just let us know the information and style of font you like.

Dog tags would be an easy shape to design and laser. Just me know the size and what you would want lasered on it.

Thanks!

Hi Diana, Loving the new shapes! Just wanted to point out, though, that your "hexagons" are actually octagons!! Keep up the good work, though! I think I can speak for everyone when I say that they are great!

And - OMG about the Hexagon! Yikes. You're so right!

Correcting that now...so we will have real Hexagons AND Octagons.

The average for shipping in the US is $2.25. I can usually fit an order into one small padded envelope. If it is a much larger order, then it might be an additional envelope, so it's $4.50

Also - the new shapes are posted!

Diana, I placed an order with a friend earlier this week. We combined because she does not have a Paypal account. One of the items in my order was a hexagon. Are you shipping the real hexagons or the octagon which was labeled as a hexagon? I did not stop to count the sides on the shape and now I'm worried it will look weird with the paper I wanted to use.

Hi Tina - your order shipped today. And because of our mix up - I put both shapes in your shipment. At no extra cost. So you have a set of Octagons AND a set of real Hexagons!

I'm glad someone pointed that out - we did get our wires crossed on that one.

Let me know if you have any questions when your order arrives. thanks.

We have 5 point and 8 point stars now, and it really would be as simple as making them a little smaller.

We have had a number of people simply ask for items in varying sizes and we can make the changes. Larger or smaller tags, putting names on banners and tags, and other modifications.

So, Yes! We can make stars in any size!

Diana,
Love the new nested hexagons! I was thinking that maybe it would be cool to design some ticket shapes since those are quite popular right now? Also, maybe some type of chevron arrow shape since chevrons are so popular right now? Just some thoughts...

A Dachshund huh? Well, considering my screen name is DoxieLady, I think that would be appropriate. AND it's a great idea.

I'm a bit biased too - we have had Doxies for years and love them.

I'll see what he can do.

Thanks! I actually should have thought of that one.

And Pagal74 - those are excellent suggestions too. Im adding those to the list. He's gotten through a lot of the suggestions so far, so we are working on new ones. Thank you!

Hi Diana,
Just saw your post about catching up. Totally understandable considering the demand and how wonderful the veneers are. You and your hubby have a really nice product and the time you spend packaging and shipping must be overwhelming.

I'm just bummed I waited so long to place an order but I'll be in line when you're back to taking new orders .

In the meantime I'm scrapping with my samples and totally loving them.

Hugs,
Shara

I added this to the original post as well:

I wanted to clarify...we still very much want to take orders and we want to continue to make the wood veneers. We enjoy it and we were very depressed when we had to stop it.

We just need a way to somehow keep it manageable. So, if there are any suggestions on how to do that, we are open to ideas. We love creating and we would like a way to keep it going.

If you do have any thoughts you would like to share, please let me know at : DianaMcRae@cox dot net

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this would make it more work but I figured I would say it anyways.
What if you offer the shapes in sets of 5. That way instead of counting individual shapes for each order you could just grab a "set".

I saw a few YT videos showing your shapes and thought "she's famous!" LOL!

Maritza - that's a good ieda. We do spend quite a bit of time counting 1,2,3,4,5,6......
It would definitely be easier in sets of 5. And the majority of orders do ask for 5 or 10 or 15.

I like it! Thanks!

Anyway, I'll look forward to you getting up and running again!! In the meantime, I hope you and your hubby find some time to relax!!!

I'm so glad you like them!!

And we are taking new orders. I have to admit - I was having a bad day last Friday. And I thought we needed to slow down or stop. However - some incredible ladies wrote to me and talked me through it and helped work through some ways to make it more manageable. And how we were probably being too hard on ourselves. Peas really are the best.

A good night's sleep helped too.

I felt SO much better Sunday and we really do love doing this. And we are glad that others like the shapes.

We're still taking orders!
