Morning everyone!

I couldn't go to last weeks thread. Maybe something is up with 2peas.

Hoping everyone is doing okay. All good here. A little tired but good.

DD and I went to CKC. We did a girls weekend in The Woodlands and had a great time. CKC was not as big as previous years but we did enjoy shopping. I found some cute embellishments and we did other shopping. Lots of other shopping. LOL!

Mindy.... thans for asking about family. MIL still in hospital. She has an infection and we take it one day at a time.

Gotta un. Speaking of family, we are gong to go see the in- laws. I hope everyone has a great day.

Checking in to say hello before running out the door to work.
Nuthin' new on my side of the ditch.
Thinking of you all and sending up prayers for everyone - cos we all need a bit of cover!

I'll be skipping this card swap. I need to get my head down to some studies. Enjoy!

I tried really hard to post this morning but couldn't log in for some reason. Weird board!

Zach and Annie are definitely moving out. They didn't get the house that they looked at but have found a cute little 2 bedroom apartment in a old former schoolhouse. It is a triplex so there are three apts in it and the other two are occupied by a single male and a family of five. It's about a 5 minute drive from us and just down the road from DH's parents. The carpets are being replaced this week and they are moving in on July 1st. I've been going through all my stuff to get them the basics to get started. I've been saving household stuff as we've replaced it thinking ahead to the boys moving out.

Zach has been paying board here for awhile, not a lot, but just enough for him to pay his way. I've been saving it and not using it for groceries like he thought I was. Today I gave the envelope to him and Annie. It contained $1500 and I told them it was to be used for their first and last months rent plus whatever else they needed for their new place. They were so happy and excited. It was so cool to see the looks on their faces.

Alicia- so sorry to hear about your DD's leg. I am sure Daisy has forgiven you. Just watch her and if need be a trip to the vet for a cast.

Christine - if no one wants to host the card swap - I can. Just let me know. Either way I will do the swap.

Back at the doctor's this morning - definitely bronchitis/sinus. So back on the steroids and she gave me some other options. Going to look into them.

Morning, ladies.

Tracey what a nice thing to do. That is something that Zach and Annie will always remember and appreciate.

Alicia, what a bummer about Daisy. Have you taken her in? The picture of her in your siggy melts me. The big nose and puppy dog eyes. Im very excited for you as you head into these big life changes. I'm sure it is quite stressful as you're going through it, though. Hoping the transition is a smooth one for you (all)! Don't forget about us in all of your busyness. Oh that pic of you guys on FB was great! Frameworthy.

Our weekend was crazy. Baseball all weekend out of town, nephew's grad party, and my 'Meet the Artisan' open house and radio show. That was nerve wracking. I'm alright at public speaking for the most part, but doing so for the purpose of self-promotion is totally different and scary. I'm wiped and looking forward to this week not being so crazy. No travelling tourney this weekend. A little breather. I am hoping to get lots of work done for my booth.

Morning all

I would love to do a card swap!

Tracey - I am sure they were shocked and super happy with the money you saved for them! How exciting to be moving into their own little place. Nice that it's not far from you!

Alicia - Good luck with your move! Sorry to hear about Daisy's leg. Hope she is ok!

Denise - Hope you feel better soon!!

Been a crazy couple of weeks here. My brother's reception, issues with my sister but getting better, work issues and tension at home. Fun times all around but hopefully things will be better soon.

I am just about done with the second set of wedding invitation I am making for a former coworker so I will be ready for some fun cards. I hope we are able to get a swap together!

Have a great day!

Hello girls, I'm still around I just haven't checked in for quite a while. Girls I need prayers, I was doing so well, I was in remission for a couple months, but its all coming back. I'm trying my best to take it all in stride, and live it day by day, but I can't help but break down and cry, it's so hard living sick day after day after day. My biggest worry right now is my daughters wedding coming up July 28. Everytime I go into a dysautonomic flare up it lasts for months on end, and I'm so afraid I'll be all messed up for the wedding.

For the past three weeks or so I felt the old familiar symptoms creeping up on me, my last major flare up lasted 5 months, and right now I'm feeling like I can't do that again. It's disheartening.

I wish more research would be done on dysautonomia.

I need prayers girls, lots and lots of prayers

Lori.....so sorry your remission is over. Connect with Lisa Hawk on facebook. She is the one whose son has it. She might be able to help. Prayers!

Alicia....hope Daisy is ok. Can you take all three dogs with you? I am sure it's hard but I might give it a shot. Do you have a place there or are you looking once you get there? Good luck

I don't mind hosting if Deven doesn't want to. So we have Denise and Tara so far. Anyone else?

Ps. Love the iPhone.

Crazy storms came through here early! A bunch of black burnt stuff from the neighbors garage blew all over my card and driveway. Icky!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Mark and I have been watching Dallas. We saw two episodes. My mom used to watch Dallas when I was little, and Aly and I knew that when we heard The Music, it was time to make ourselves scarce. I guess I like the show okay but the level of amorality bothers me to watch for some reason. It just makes me uncomfortable. Can't trust anybody!!

Tara, we are just now getting a break from the storm. Wow it was loud!

I don't know what I'm going to do today... Probably I will take care of some things that have been neglected, but nothing too ambitious. I've been kind of lethargic for a few days and can't seem to shake it.

Off to get a cuppa joe.

Checking in on my day off. I went to bed with Grand Plans on how to spend my day but I've woken up with a bad headache (slept wrong) and -5c degrees outside, so maybe some of those plans will change. (I was going to start my day with walking the dog but I don't think either of us want to go outside for any length of time right now! lol )

TRACEY: That's such a neat way to start the kids off. I've done something similar in the past. It must have been such an awesome surprise for them. Momma of the Month!!

LORIFNP: I've been thinking of you heaps lately. Prayers going up for you. I wish there was something to be done to help you. It definitely sounds like something that needs more research and cures. It's little consolation for you, but we are thinking of you.

I made the decision to 'go back to school'. I made the phone calls, got the information. Then spoke to a girlfriend who runs a training company. She is going to help me get some qualifications by doing some courses via correspondence at a discount rate! Woot. Including the Diploma of Management which I planned to spend 6 months in a class for. So I changed direction and decided to do a Diploma of Project Management, thinking I'd be doing it at the same college in the CBD (30 mins away). Turns out, I can do it as a Flexible Learning course in town (5 mins away) at my own leisure!! Even betterer! So I'll be busy hitting some books over the next few months.
I have no idea where it will take me or what doors it will open up but it's time for me to stop yakking about being dumb and get myself edumicated. There's no real reason for it all other than self worth, I guess. And I enjoy learning. And I don't really want to be getting up at 4:30am every morning for a low-paying job! There's got to be a better way!

CHRIS: Having ice cream for lunch isn't a bad idea. But if you are going to eat dessert first, then you need to follow it up with something heartier later. Then finish with something light.

Pattifish: How did Monday go with your interview? Any news yet? What updates can you tell us? You can't jinx it now. Spill, sister!
We're waiting!

My mother has decided to come over and stay for a month's 'trial' in
September, so I have a couple of months of bliss before the test. We'll see how things go. She doesn't want to burn her bridges and find it doesn't work out, which is sensible. I plan to use the time helping her figure out what she is going to do for the next 20-odd years. She has no retirement funds, not enjoying her current job, a large mortgage (for her at her age) and spends money like it's never-ending. She needs to face some hard truths about aging and her future. I can see it will land in our lap to fund her retirement and house her, which doesn't feel fair but it's where it's heading. (She's 67 but likes to think she's still 47) She had a fall recently and cracked a couple of ribs. The way I see it, this is just the beginning. *cue scary music* Not sure that I'M ready!

Ok, tummy rumbles. Time to jump in the shower and start my day. Have a good one everyone!

Maggie, congratulations! That is a big, brave decision to make. One day I hope to do the same... We are pretty far away from a four-year university so when I do go back, it's going to mean a hefty commute.

Yeah, where IS Kathi? I've been missing that girl around here.

The weather was HOT and muggy today. The kids ad I went out to my girlfriend's house and hung out by the pool. Caught a few rays, tan is looking pretty good.

Mark is watching Deadliest Catch. Anybody else watch it? If I go to hell, it will be on a crab boat in the Bering Sea and the captain will be the king of unneccessary noise.

Sorry to hear that, Maggie. It will come! Things always have a way of falling into place.

It's going to be another hot muggy day but there are some storms that are supposed to be coming through so I don't think we'll get a lot of time outside. We shall see.

Morning - just got back from taking my neighbor to work and a stop at Sams and WM for some supplies (food).

Christine - I emailed you some ideas on a card swap - scraps and then basic. I got them from SCS and they were ones that I did there. I like the idea of the "Scrap" one then you can make cards, bookmarks, or tags. Let me know if I can help.

Down with the bronchitis again. I have to contact the rental agent to see what if anything the landlord has agreed to do about the mold in my house. If nothing then I will be getting estimates, getting the work done and taking it out of the rent. This is bs having to spend this much money on medical every month because he doesn't want to take care of the issues. Oh well - either that or look for another house and that isn't really an option either.

Things aren't looking brighter - but I know that this saying is so true for me: "when you are going thought something hard and wonder where GOD is - remember the teacher is always quiet during a test." So for everyone that is going through tests and trials - know he is there.

*******WISHFUL WEDNESDAY******

Any wishes? Here are mine:

1. The Rakker who is looking for coke points and box tops - let me know and I will send some out.

2. I am looking for some journaling tags - I received some before in a swap and would love to get some plain colors (any colors are fine). I think it is a die cut but not sure what one.

3. Ideas or items for Memorial album for my Uncle. He was an avid fisher, runner, boxer and baseball player.

Thanks

I have hundreds of journalling tags of all types and sizes. If you can expand on what sort you want, I may have something in the stash.

Hi girlies! Lots to catch up on here...here's some of the scoop...

Monday was my interview (thank you MAGGIE for asking!) at my alma mater, Ursuline College! I think it went well, but I can never tell about these things...the position is technically a secretarial position, but it requires a degree and is full time. I would be working with my friend, which could be good or bad! But I would love to work there, as you all know how much I love my school!

I am supposed to hear if I got it by early next week. Possibly I could hear late on Friday but not holding my breath! If I get it I would start around July 1. Keep your fingers crossed!

DD is now enrolled in culinary school! She is so excited! We went yesterday and paid her first quarter's enrollment and got her fitted for her uniform! I am so happy for her and hope that we are finally on the right track with her. SHe is enjoying working two jobs right now, keeping busy until classes start July 7.

DH is looking into enrolling in a program to get his Principal's License. He was accepted into one last year but it wasn't the right time. If I get this job, he is definitely doing it. I am very excited for him.

DS is getting ready to go down to Wake Forest for his training in his new position as a camp facilitator at Supercamp. After his training he will be working in LA all summer. The company is flying him to these sites so we are very happy he doesn't have to pay for that! After that, he plans to start grad school this fall...where is still a bit up in the air, which is making me very nervous!

My brother is slowly improving but at his last DR. appt they discovered that they cysts behind his pancreas are growing so they want to do his surgery as soon as possible now, which means he has less time to get stronger before a new trauma to his body. He has lost quite a bit of weight, which isn't so bad because he had put a bunch on, but he sure has aged. He looks so much like my dad now! I am so hoping he can make it to my party this Sunday!

All of this change is exciting, but also after the year we have had it can still be stressful. This month I had the worst IBS episode I have had since my diagnosis in 2000. (Sorry if TMI.) For days I could barely eat anything; the whole episode went on for over two weeks. (My worst ever was 3 weeks.) DH has been very concerned and has been waiting on me hand and foot to try to help me rest and de-stress. So the last few days I have been trying to get in my craft room as that seems to help me relax.

THose of you who requested Tim Holtz Old Jalopy die cuts (months ago!) they are now packaged up and ready to go! Sorry for the delay!

Anyone want some large Basic Grey Pear die cuts? While I was making the TH Jalopy cuts I also made pears. I have six sets so the first six people to request them will get them! (With preference to those who didn't get Jalopies.)

Well, I guess you can tell I am a writer by the length of this post!

Gotta go try to get a few scrapbook pages done before my big celebration on Sunday.

Tracey - that was such a wonderful thing you did for Annie & DS. What a great mom you are. I have heard of other parents doing similar things. You have inspired me!

FairyLori - so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time of it. I think of you often & hope you can stop by here for some encouragement from time to time.

Hugs to all...where has Joeman been? I was thinking of her today & how she always greeted us as "girly girls" lol

Hi everyone!

Just want to pop in and say thanks for all the thoughts and prayers for me here and FB. They are so appreciated!

Today is 1 week since surgery and I have had good days and bad.Today, not so great but I'm making it.I've only had a few "bathroom issues", and hoping it stays that way. I am glad the nasty gallbladder is out but am so ready to feel good again.

I can't remember if I told you all about my SIL's report, her mammogram,ct scan and blood test all came back good! The chemo is working! Thanking God! Thank you all for the prayers for her!

I hope everyone is doing ok, your all in my prayers! HUGS to any who need them. Hoping to feel good enough to be back here more often soon!

Thanks Kat for playing Drawsomething with me!

Hi, ladies. Just stopping by to wish you all a fond hello. I've had a busy week, so I haven't been on the forum much.

Bunkie, I hope you are feeling better with each passing day and soon you'll be fully recovered.

Christine, woo hoo!!! Summer vacation is always awesome. A much needed breather for exhausted teachers!

Patti, good luck with getting the job you want. I hope you enjoy your celebration this weekend!

Maggie, go for it! When Geek gets his next contract, it's your turn to do what you want. How is your winter going?

We could use some winter here. It's been scorching hot and humid these last few days! Best wishes to all.

Morning all - Christine must be sleeping in today.

Hot, Humid and rain here today. Check out my FB page and look for a post of a picnic basket from my DD. That is a project we are working on right now. The lid is a mini album. So cute

Tina great news on your sil!!

Denise, Val is always looking for box tops and labels.

Today the kids are working at a fundraiser for our Relay for Life team. I've got to get some things planted in the garden and do a little cleaning.

Hello! Me again. Where is everybody???? Hopefully Christine is sitting by the pool with a jumbo margarita, Pablo fanning her and reapplying sunscreen as needed.

It is raining cats and dogs here. Boo.

The boys did well with the Relay for Life fundraiser today. I did some clothes shopping for myself and also picked up some new melamine dishes. Mark and I are currently enjoying some peace and quiet, and I am tossing around the idea of a nap. Exciting lives we lead!

Kristy, if you are reading, let us know how you are all doing...

Me again! Geez, where is everybody?

MAGGIE, we are about to watch The Grey. I'll be giving you my review tomorrow. I happen to love Liam Niesen so I'll probably like this movie. I LOVED him in Taken. Seen it?
