I currently use the Cropper Hopper paper holders and have used them for many years, but I feel like it's cumbersome to pull out and look through the papers.

I don't know if there are better ways. I was thinking off maybe going back to file folders. I have one of those older big plastic box totes that hold the 12x12 files. I think it's Cropper Hopper also but I got it so long ago.

Has anyone switched from vertical storage to something else that you're happy with?

I store all my papers in iris containers by Manu. They are sometimes hard to find papers but they are convenient for crops. I pinned a paper storage system that used sterility containers. It looked cool to me. I'll add the link to the post when I'm back at home.

Are you talking about the Cropper Hopper paper totes that are black with 2 handles with a clear lid? For me they are almost too heavy to lift if they are full making it too difficult to stack them when they are full.

Have you thought about making sections in the CH paper holders so you don't have to pull out the whole thing? To do that you would have to lay them on their backs.
