With 2GB of data you should be able to "send/receive 10,000 emails (no attachments), plus send/receive 1,500 emails with attachments, plus view 4,000 Web pages, plus post 500 photos to social media sites, plus watch 200 minutes of streaming video" per month.

I spend all day on my phone, every day. I have never gone over my 2GB a month usage limit. I have never even come close.

Eh, I have wireless at home, at work, and everywhere I go pretty much (the grocery store!) has WiFi...so I would never know what would happen if I relied solely on 2Gb.

That said, I've never come close to going over.

probably. I get 200 megabytes and use only half of that but I do check my email when I'm out and occasionally stream video.

I use my phone a lot, and frequently forget to turn the wi-fi on when I'm at home (I leave it off during the day because it sucks battery looking for networks to join), and usually average only 1 GB a month. I don't send or upload anything close to what they say in that quote, and rarely use my phone to watch video, though. I think if you used it a lot for video you'd exceed the 2 GB pretty quickly.

Since I've used 0.784 gb in the last 19 days, despite also using wifi, no I do not find that to be true. (corrected data amount-I read it wrong)

HTH

ETA: I do not watch video or stream music, so the useage is from web, facebook, email and twopeas.

I am over 2gb for the first time in 2 years this month. I figure it is due to checking email too much.

I don't think that estimate is accurate, but it could be since I stream a lot of music.

I think my kid figured out that the four of us use about 7 gigs a month. We stream video and radio regardless of wifi but I'm guessing we will have to change our habits.

No, I don't believe it's accurate. I've used 3.4GB this month and at home and work I am wifi exclusive. I don't use streaming video when I am on the 4g network, primarily email and checking websites while waiting in the carpool line. Oh, and I only text maybe 10-20x per day. Thank goodness for unlimited data!

Thanks, thats what I am worried about. That 2gb wouldn't do much. Though its more then I have now. LOL Just depends if it is worth the cost. We don't have wifi at to many places around here and wont be able to log on at home.

I do a ton of e-mail, not 10000 maybe 1000, no streaming, check the weather a few times a day and maybe visit a few websites. Probaly do 1000 text a month. I use almost a gig just for that. I can't see how 2GB would cover that much usage.

My SO and I share a 2GB plan. I use the most data and we only managed to use 67MB between the two of us last month.

I don't normally stream movies on my iPad. We did yesterday and we had to stop the movie because it used up almost the entire 2GB in less than an hour and a half!

It was through HBO GO, so I think it was high res. Won't be doing that again on 3G. sheesh!

That seems like an overstatement to me. I used 1.5G last month. I check e-mail frequently, use the web occasionally, and use a number of apps. I'm careful to shut down apps when they aren't in use. We were traveling this month, so I probably used it more than normal when on the road.

DH used 2.5G. The big difference is that I download my podcasts and synch them while he streams his and uses his phone as a GPS frequently.

That's probably about right, but it fails to mention some pretty common things, like streaming audio and GPS, both of which totally burn up data.

Its not included but I dont use those anyway. Just the basic web stuff and aps. I think that was the point of that portion. We I too thought was overkill.

Is it true the internet and phone speed have alot to do with it? The faster it is the more you use.

I have unlimited data as does my husband and one son and non of us have ever exceeded 2GB. My SIL has 2GB and comes dangerously close every month, but she is almost an addict with streaming media on her phone.

2GB should work for the average bear.
