Mommy to Maximus!

Have you ever done one? Which style? Was it a success or a failure?
(p.s. I hate the term 'upcycled')
Link to some of the recycles I'm referring to.

I've made one of the t-shirt scarves. I had a white tee I tie-dyed. It shrunk like crazy so I cut it off below the armpit into a tube, it makes it an infinity scarf. Then halfway in all the way around you cut inch wide fringe. Tug on the fringe to make it curl up, and Voila tie dye boho scarf. I get people asking me all the time where I bought it.

Georgiapea, they cut them up into different types of shirts and tank tops, make scarves, skirts, all kinds of things.
|Posted: 7/6/2012 10:15:23 AM|I made one of those infinity scarfs too!! I never wear it though, I don't wear a lot of scarfs..
I also went to a thrift store close by my Apt. and bought a bunch of very cool silk scarfs to wear on my head. I haven't worn one yet LOL! I have one of them draped over my bedroom lamp and it has a sexy pink glow too it now.
I think about doing my t-shirts but like the O.P. knowing my luck it will look recycled.. so I never go through with it..

I made the "string-y" scarf -- cut 1.5 inch strips from bottom of T up so arm pits -- PULL the rounds, tie them all together at one point - wear it like a scarf. I put one of those zipper flowers at the tie point. I was amazed at the number of people who commented and wondered where I got it.
They were easy enough to do as "beach crafts" -- for those nights when you just need something else to do!
