Me neither, until today, and they are cute.
Here are the instructions.
Go to settings, click on General.
Scroll down to keyboard and click on it.
Click on International keyboard.
Click on add new keyboard.
Scroll down list to Emoji and add.
A globe icon will appear in your texting keyboard, press on it to use, press again to go back to English.

I tried it. Then I sent a text to my sis-in-law with one of the emotes and she got a blank text. I sent it again and again - still a blank text.
I took out the emote, sent again and she got the text.
Don't know what went wrong but haven't tried it again.

Hmmmmm, not sure what to tell you. Maybe someone else could help with it.
I've been texting DH all morning with no problem.
Are you both on iPhones? DH and I are.

I think they only show up if the person recieving them also has them on their phone.

I used to get them on my phone from a friend before I had installed it on my phone. We love putting funny stories together using the pics. LOL

My DH has a free app that he can use on his Android that enables his phone to see the emoji sent from my iPhone, it's Handcent SMS/Handcent Emoji Plugin.
