I know how to do this but have seen other PL layouts where there is a thin white line separating the two pictures- how do you do this? Thank you! |

Picasa software has an option to add borders to your pictures. I don't think I could explain it well here. Maybe try searching 'Picasa' here and see if there is another thread that explains it. Or google 'adding a border to pictures in picasa'.
What program do you use to edit your photos?

I use Picasa! I can find where I can add a white border around the whole picture but I just want a thin white line down the middle that separates the two pictures |

The Kodak machine that I use creates a thin line between the two pictures. Maybe they are printing them on one of those???

If you use Picasa, in the print screen there is a border option. Use the slider to adjust your border. In your printer preferences screen you can size the photo to fit also. Hope this is explained somewhat clear.

I print my pics at Walgreens. I use the collage tab. You can choose from many colors for the border. |

Photosheet has a layout for 2 pics on a 4x6 with or without the white border.

In Picasa, do you create a collage to put the two pictures together? If so, there is a sliding bar that says "Grid Spacing". Slide the bar to the right, and it will basically shrink the image as much or as little as you want and put the white border around the pictures. Hope this makes sense.

OP, this is one of those things that is really easy to do in Photoshop/Photoshop Elements. I'm guessing that is how they have done it.
One simple way in PSE - resize 2 photos to 3x4. Drag photos onto a 4x6 canvas. Move photos into position, leaving a few pixels gap in the middle. Flatten the image and it's ready to print. |

If you don't have PS/PSE, you can do this in photosheet by photility.
It's a free download.

I wish I knew how to make a template that people could just download and drag and drop photos into the spot. |

Another vote for photosheet. I just did a whole heap for my PL (a years worth of catch up ) and they fit perfectly.

I use the collage feature in Picasa and adjust the borders to how much of a white line I want separating the photos. |

How awesome is photosheet?! Thanks so much for this thread. I always procrastinate printing pics because I hate having to use PSE to create multi-photo 4x6 prints and photosheet makes this so so so much easier! Yay!!! |

I use 4x6 photo collage templates in PSE for my Project Life all the time! I even wrote a tutorial about how to use them. At the end of the post there is a link to the templates I use (and it includes a template with two 3x4 pics and the white line down the middle).
Hope that helps!
