OK, I have hosted many tag swaps, except for a winter or Christmas one. So, I thought I would host one this year. I am going to start early and host this tag swap so we can all have some pretties in time for decorating for Christmas.
***PLEASE NOTE: the due date is 11/3. This is to have all tags in my hands and give me enough time to swap out before Thanksgiving comes upon us. Everyone knows that by the time Thanksgiving hits, things get busy, and despite best intentions things get lost along the way. So, please only sign up if you can handle the due date and make sure you have your tags in my hands by 11/3.
Important Swap Guidelines and Instructions:
SIZE: The tags must be at least 2x4 (manila tags come in 2 1/8 x 4 1/4) and no bigger than 4X6. A regular office store shipping tag is 3 3/8 x 6, Sizzix dies are around 3 1/2x6 and you can cut them on your Cricut, or hand cut them with your trimmer) and be made out of cardboard, heavy cardstock or chipboard. We will create in groups of six.
MUST INCLUDE: 2-3 embeliishments (brads, stickles, glitter, pearls, bling, distress ink, flowers, buttons, stamping, embossing, charms, beads, etc. Paper is NOT embellishment enough); 1-2 different papers; a ribbon or fibers (looped through the top of the tag or on the tag). Decorate one side of the tag and leave the other side blank!! OR, it is permissible to stamp TO and FROM on the other side. But do not include your name or pname. These mainly will be used for gifts.
PLEASE PUT YOUR BEST EFFORT IN YOUR WORK!! Make every little tag a work of art. I kept the groups small so as to not get overwhelmed. Think of what kind of quality you want to get back. Go above and beyond to make your tag a beautiful work of art.
DUE: November 3rd. In order to swap these out and get them back to you. If you have not made good on your other swaps, please do not sign up. Life happens...I know! So, if your life starts HAPPENING, then let me know so I can Angel your spot. I won't list you as a flaker if you let me know ahead of time. Ahead of time to me means at least 2 weeks before the swap is due.
POSTAGE: VERY IMPORTANT! Please send enough money/postage for me to mail your tags back to you and an envelope with your mailing info. I WILL NOT COVER POSTAGE!!!!!!! Please be sure to put enough money or stamps AND a SASE envelope in the package to me. If you do not pay for Priority mail back and you do not send me an envelope to return your items, then I am going to hold them until you send me an envelope or send more postage so I can return it in a free priority mailer. In the past I purchased envelopes out of my own money, I WILL NOT DO THAT this time. Please, please, please send enough money or postage.
Please bag them in a ziploc or something similar. Please write or staple a piece of paper with your name, pname AND category the tag is in, onto the bag. That way I will know who did what. Don't write on the back of your tag!!!!
If you mail early (2 weeks or sooner), you are not required to put DC on your package. Keep in mind, if you do not put DC on your package and it is lost, you will be responsible to remake your items and send them again. If you mail within 2 weeks of the due date, you are REQUIRED to post DC so I can track it and also to confirm that you have mailed. Many people have told me they have mailed and they did not, so a swap got bogged down while waiting on a package that was never mailed. If you would like DC on the return trip, be sure to include enough postage/money.

JustMeInMI: no, you do not have to use that exact paper line. It was just an example of what "Modern" meant. Feel free to use what line of paper you want as long as it is traditional/modern.
CaribbeanGirl: I have you in Vintage and Modern. When you say both groups, do you mean both categories? Or both groups Modern, or both groups Vintage? Just let me know.

Thanks everyone for joining. I am getting excited! I always plan to make Christmas tags and NEVER do it! I am determined to do it this year.
Becky, you know I would make a spot for you!!! I try to leave mine open a little bit to make sure everyone has had a chance to sign up. Since there are no limits to how many groups to open, I will probably leave it open for at least another week or two.
No worries if a group does not fill all the way. I have not signed up for as many spots as I want yet. I will monitor the group size and then take the rest of the open spots.
Happy Labor Day everyone!!!!!! About to go cook out...on the GRILL! hehe.... |
