My weekend was pretty awesome as we took the oldest granddaughter to Albany (near Portland) to visit my middle granddaughter and we played at the park and fed the ducks. I just can't believe how much Addie has grown in just 3 months! She is walking and starting to do a lot more talking Her mommy said that she must've heard my name a lot because she's been walking around saying "Be-hee" LOL
I took this weekend off from work so that I could attend my LSS auction that she has once a year. We save our receipts for about 3 months and whatever we spent, we get in auction bucks to spend on different items she puts up for auction (store displays, product - paper/stamps and such) and since I always spend sooooo much $$ in there, it is great to actually get something free once in a while! LOL
Glad you had a great weekend also and hope you have another one this weekend! I'm already ready to summer to come back as it's been getting colder and colder by the day. It was in the 30s this morning when I got up!   I've heard it's gonna be a very cold winter and that just plain sucks!  |

Christmas Surprise! Sorry don't mean to be ignoring you, just haven't been on the mb too much lately! The main reason are the kids you're asking about. I have a ds age 9 & a dd age 8. I volunteer in both of their classrooms & went on 2 separate field trips in the last week. Plus the amount of homework my son brings home kinda has me in a daze. He gets a packet at the beginning of the week & it's due at the end of the week, but teaching time management skills to an unwilling 9yr old feels like running in sand!
Anyways, I had a list of errands to run but needed to stay home to receive a Home Depot delivery today. At 1pm dh calls and tells me the delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. (Slow simmer, some steam coming out of my ears.) Good thing I kept busy doing chores (not fun) while listening to True Scrap & Paperclipping Roundtable episodes (very fun). I actually finished one layout also. Used it as a reward when chores were completed.

Crafty elf, I am on a 2 day bus trip to Traverse City with some friends. We just returned from the Turtle Creek Casino, what fun, tomorrow we will hit up a couple of vineyards for wine tasting. After that we head on home, and back to work on Sunday. The trees are beautiful, with the temp in the 50's. The outdoor hot tub was very relaxing, just what I needed. I don't go to Archivers as much as I would like, it is a little drive, and much better for my budget if I don't. I always find good stuff, and get new ideas.
How exciting to see the end in sight for your classes. Will you teach while you go on with your education. Busy busy busy. I wish you all the best.
Shopping is fun, there is always just one more present needed. Or you see something else that is just perfect.
Now when you say The Grinch,do you mean the old, cartoon, one or the Jim Carey one? Both are good.
Are you making Christmas cards? I love to make and send them. I am sending out my Halloween cards this weekend and plan to start my Christmas ones soon. It does take a while to come up with idea.
Do you stay home for the holiday or travel? We always have dinner at my sister's house. She cooks a magnificent dinner. I am so glad I don't have to work Christmas this year. How about you? Does your winter break match your kids, I hope so.

Hello West coast sista...not much going on here this weekend...just chilling with some friends...we had a bbq at the campground and the kids were playing in the leaves and disturbed a yellow jacket hive...and of all things, I ended up getting stung in the head...hurt like you know what...hoping to get going on the Christmas daily album tomorrow after church...Halloween is not far off and we usually take our kids to church and do trunk or treat and then head to downtown for the city fall festival...I just started work on Monday and they let us dress up for Halloween, so that should be fun...I am either going to be Cleopatra or a pirate...ordered the costumes, just have to see which one I like better... And what are your plans for Halloween?? I tend to lean towards modern and country...am not really into vintage...hope that helps... Talk to you soon!!

Hi Mrs. Santa - sorry I have been MIA. I have been sick since Tuesday -Wednesday my sister in law had me take a chest xray and I have pneumonia. It's been a long week!! If I could have got some scrapping done it wouldn't have been so bad. Unfortunately today is the first day I could do anything besides lay on the couch. At least it wasn't next weekend - I am going on a scrappy weekend!!! Yeah!!
My son is in pre kindergarten. So far this year I have chaperoned a corn maze trip, a pumpkin painting party and made pizzas for a fundraiser. I'm sure there is a lot more fun to come!!
I hope you have a fantastic trip to the mountains. Is your whole family going? Take lots of pictures. Knowing you the album is probably made and ready for pics!!

My daughter is on the mend (I hope!) and as she likes to share things- I woke up this morning having difficulty breathing and feeling rotten  guess Im not getting the painting done I started yesterday!
My daughters name is Logan, my sons name is Cole.
I love so many of the holiday lines you could mix it up if you want. I do like all of the Crate Paper line. I did get some scrapping done in my Dec daily last night- only a page or two, but anything is good

I went to Archiver's yesterday  I also went to a local scrapbook store that is closing and got a few really good deals. I love the old grinch and the Jim Carey grinch. I'm a big Peanuts collector too. I put up a Charlie Brown tree every year.
We usually have dinner here. My dad cooks and brings some over too.
I do plan on teaching while I get my PhD. I'm excite about it.
As for our winter breaks I sure hope they match up. I haven't checked it this year. I need to do that!

I see you had fun shopping the other day. Get any new ideas for projects? A friend just took the Christmas tag class there, said they are nice, did you see them too? See anything specific you would like to add to your list, or were you bad and brought it all? . I just got back from a little overnight trip with some friends and had a really good time. I can't tell you where, would give you too much info. Maybe later. We went to a casino and shopped till we dropped. A little rainy and cloudy but that didn't stop the fun at all. Back to work today, I sure could use a nap.

I did have fun shopping! I have thought about taking the class at Archiver's but haven't yet. I did see all of the goodies though. I love them all  but I didn't buy any of it. I was good a bought only things for my swaps! I did buy a few copics as I have acquired a sort of addiction for them
As for the treats, my 3 year old son will eat most anything. My 13 year old daughter isn't a big candy eater. She lives off of pizza rolls and hostess cupcakes I am so glad you had a great trip. I need a vacation! Thanks for the messages. I always look so forward to hearing from you. Always brightens my day |

Hi Santa Elf,
I know what you mean about time flying and the holidays coming so fast. I was at the "M" store tonight looking for supplies to make a letterboxing kit, and got sidetracked by all the new Christmas stuff they'd put out since the last time I'd been there. I still haven't heard my first Christmas song yet. But I'm betting that I will come the first of November.
On that note, a funny story. There is a Chinese restaurant near my house that my grandma in law loves to eat at when she's here in Texas. They have one CD that they play over and over, and it's a Kenny G Christmas album. Winter, Summer, Spring, or Fall. It's all Kenny G Christmas, all the time. I'm not sure how many times I'd been there with her before I even noticed it, but now I can't go there without being hyper-conscious of it. One day she'll want to go and they will have bought a different CD and I'll miss the Christmas music.

Waving right backy at ya Becky! Sorry I haven't posted in a while but my husband had surgery last Wednesday to remover his gallbladder. Thankfully everything went well and he was able to come home the same day, but I have been playing nurse ever since. I don't know how you nurses do it, I only had one patient and he wore me out, my hat is off to all nurses! He goes back to work tomorrow so I will have the day to myself. I should spend it scrapping but I have neglected my house for the last week so I'll probably try and catch up on housework!
Lucky you having your granddaughter over night! I'm sure you are enjoying every minute of having her to yourself! I'm sure you are going to have a wonderful time.
Any plans for the upcoming weekend? I have my family coming over to celebrate my son's 18th birthday which is Saturday. I hope we have nice weather becaue I will have anywhere from 15-25 people over. After taking care of my husband and having my son's birthday I think I need a weekend away-LOL.

I think it's much harder to take care of one patient (the hubby!!) than it is to take on several...lol Glad he's doing well and hope work goes good. Just tell him to continue following the doc's orders and he'll do fine
Happy Birthday to your kiddo. 18 is a major milestone! I loved turning 18... remember it like it was yesterday... ok, not so much, but I remember buying my 1st lottery ticket just because I could!!

Hi Angela,
That sounds really cool with putting lights all around your Christmas dinner table and then turning out the lights. How fun!
I started drinking hot tea again too. Do you have a favorite flavor? I really like cinnamon apple.
I've never heard of the "My Shopping Adiction," I'll have to see if we have it here. My favorite places to shop are either craft stores(Michaels, Archiver's, or Hobby Lobby) or Home Decor stores like HomeGoods.
That's great you won something from Pottery Barn!!

Waving a big hello and hope you're feeling better to Shari (Maxsmomma),
Wow, you have been sick with pneumonia. Good thing you had the chest x-ray done.
I miss the days of helping with my kids class at school. It was so much fun to go on the field trips with them and their class parties. Once they hit middle school they acted like they had no idea who I was.
We are in the mountains and having a great time. Our oldest didn't come with us because of his Senior project he's doing for graduation. I was hoping he could come, but his presentation date is so close that he couldn't take off.
I have taken lots of pictures, but unfortunately don't have an album ready for them. I did find a Hobby Lobby store this evening going to dinner.

Happy Wed. Perla.. This has been a very busy week for me here. Hope your week is going well. The elves tell me there are a lot of new paper lines coming out and want to know if there are any you want to add to your list (those elves sure have a lot of questions)

How is everyone coming along? I know the changing/updating of the board really is wreaking havoc with our group so if you have an the opportunity, please try to email your secret sis if it's all at all possible.
Now I'm off to figure out my sons Halloween costume as we've been to several stores and I keep going on online but been hesitant because our weather keeps changing and now I hear it's good to be mid 80s and a full furry costume just not likely. |
