Question of the Week#1:Which Character on Gilligans Island best describes you? Would your Parental unit/ mom agree? Hmmmmm...

Question of the Week#2: Did you create anything last week?

Question of the Week#3: what is your papercrafting passion? and if scrapping, what do you do most mini albums, 2 page layouts, 12x12, 6x6, whatever moves me today? LOL

Ok. So trying to keep you gals motivated, so tweak #1 to the Zen Master Wookiemouse 29 step program. This week is actually Weeks 2 and 3 from the original program. Reason: the largest drop outs are between weeks 2/3 and memorabilia week. I think 3 weeks to actually DO something is too long, and undermines that part of you that stood up to the clutter and decided to join!

The long version of this week:

The long version on my blog

The short version of this week:
1.Brainstorming-Think of your perfect Scrap Space (ours has a full service bar, a maid, and a nanny on staff)
2.Take a picture. This is your official before picture. I did warn you!
3.Decide if you are going small or going big (and start to box up if going big)
4.Create something- always remember to keep Creative Me happy! she has the immunity idol and is essential to not getting OCD Me voted off the island!

To try and spice it up--at the end of this journey, I am going to give one organizer a Two Peas gift card/code! Some of us are not as goal oriented as we should be. However, we ARE prize driven. So starting this week we will keep score- (unless you all rebel at this idea)

Rules:
Each week closes for points Midnight Sunday of that week.
1 point for each Question of the week answered .
5 points for showing up and attempting the weeks prompt or providing a photo to prove that it is already organized. You can fail the week, just post how your attempt was or wasnt, and we will give you credit.
5 points for creating ANYTHING. The whole point of this is to create. Cleaning is NOT an excuse to not create for three months. (only one set of 5-so 1 card or 20 layouts-it is the same )
1 point for linking in through Mr. Linky
A tie at the end of the challenge will be decided by random # generator.

Okay, I'll play along too. I can't answer question 1 as I've never seen the show, lol. Sunny South Africa has it's drawbacks...

Ques 2 : Yep, did 2 LO's - see my gallery for proof - i loaded them today.

Ques 3: Scrapbooking, of coarse! I only do 12x12 with a mini book probably once a year.

I must agree that the Memoribilia week is where I lost it last year. I have organised the kids stuff since then, but have a lot of family history to preserve. I started with a clean slate last year, so I'm only going to do those bits that apply this time round. I do have to admit my memoribilia is STILL in the boxes in my room where I packed it last year

I'll post a photo tomorrow as it's dark here already. Need to tidy up a bit too.

Yeah! Week 2!

Q1: I guess I am like Maryann. Kind of mild-mannered.
Q2: I finished a layout that I started months ago!
Q3: My passion is scrapping, and I do 12x12 layouts exclusively. mostly 2 page LO, but I take a lot of pictures, so they extend to 4 sometimes!!

1. Brainstorming - haven't started yet, but will update when I do.
2. I uploaded pictures of my scrap closet here at my blog.
3. I am going big! It's not a big space, so the stuff I have to move out won't take a ton of room, and I can hide it behind my couch!!
4. I will try to create at least one layout this week. Hopefully more!

I don't know what Mr. Linky is, so I'll need help linking through it! Can't wait to see what others are doing this week. Thanks!!

Michelle- I will give you credit for #1... it is not your fault that Guligans Island never made it to South Africa!

screilly/Cyndi- Welcome!

Lisa Lisa- Mr Linky is just a link at the bottom of my blog. You type in your name and the http/url of your picture or blog post link (or cut and paste it from the top of the internet page), and it attaches it, just like the links in the threads here.

Question of the Week#1:Which Character on Gilligans Island best describes you? At first I though Maryann but probably a mix between The Professor and The Skipper.

Question of the Week#2: Did you create anything last week? Yup! I finished up a bunch of pages that I had started for my dd's baby book. I also started another page.

Question of the Week#3: what is your papercrafting passion? and if scrapping, what do you do most mini albums, 2 page layouts, 12x12, 6x6, whatever moves me today? I mostly do 12x12 single page with occasional 2pgs. I have an album that I'm doing with pocket pages but I'm having a hard time finishing it. I do maybe 1-2 min albums a year. My dd's baby album is my big focus right now and tring to finish up our home construction album (the pocket page one).

1.Brainstorming- I envision a well ordered room in with black and white and accents of a color (can't decide which color). I want my shelves to be functional for storage of supplies but I also want to disply some personal items. I want them to look fancy and "stylized".

2.Take a picture Did it! My room before Tried to do Mr Linky (hope it worked) and I even up loaded pictures to my gallery for the first time ever!

3.Decide if you are going small or going big I'll be going small. I just moved my color drawers into larger drawers (jet max cubes) and I really like it. I will be focusing on a few things and just using my space better in general.

4.Create somethingI up loaded most of the pages that I have completed for my dd's baby book too. I finished about 7 of these pages last week.
Baby Girl Album Part 1
Baby girl Album part 2- First Year

I hope I can keep this up! I have a busy week next week!

Here are the promised photos of my scrapspace at the moment. Pretty organised. That pile of paper on my desk is work-related, so that doesn't count, right? I'm working on that...

OK, I will play along. I'll start with the questions, then go dig around for some stuff I did in Week 2 of another round, and update how I have moved on from there.

Question of the Week#1:Which Character on Gilligans Island best describes you? Would your Parental unit/ mom agree? This is tough. I am probably married to a male version of a cross between the Skipper and Ginger (and I am sure my mom would agree with that assessment)so does that make me Mary Ann, Ginger's plain Jane friend, or Gilligan, the faithful but funny first mate? There's also a touch of the Howell's personality and the professor's personality in me.

Question of the Week#2: Did you create anything last week? I was in the process of one layout when I read the Week 1 challenge, and I also created one additional layout last week. Sunday, I got started on one layout. My grandson was born yesterday, so after receiving four photos from his mother, father and real Grandma (I'm step)I sat down and made four layouts. (Not single photos in all cases, as I scrapped each photo twice.). I also picked papers for another layout, which means two layouts are now sitting on the scrap desk in progress.

Question of the Week#3: what is your papercrafting passion? and if scrapping, what do you do most mini albums, 2 page layouts, 12x12, 6x6, whatever moves me today? It is scrapbooking, and I will either do one or two pages as the number of photos warrants. (And sometimes it could go either way.) However, when I am not scrapbooking, I also do art journals. I worked on two pages in those last week, but I am not sure either of those two pages is finished.

The newest blog entry addresses where I was at Week 2, Round 2 and the significant progress I have made without keeping up with this challenge since then. Because of all that progress and because there's no way I could pack everything up and start from scratch, I will be "going small." I'm not even going to pack up my scattered embellishments, but each week I'm going to look at the solutions people have come up with to see what can be further refined in my many problem areas. I may even end up somehow getting rid of a few things along the way.

Question of the Week #1: Which Character on Gilligans Island best describes you? Would your Parental unit/ mom agree? MaryAnn. Goody Two Shoes Girl Next Door. Everyone who knows me would agree! Few people know there's a darker side...mwahahahaha...

Question of the Week #2: Did you create anything last week? I have been a crafting fool! Check out my blog...I've done more consistent crafting lately than I have in forever!

Question of the Week #3: what is your papercrafting passion? I love making cards and 12X12 layouts. I started a Project Life type of album last year when I turned 50, but it's a month in review instead of weekly. I'm still keeping that up cause I can put all the random photos and memorabilia that I collect in it.

1. Brainstorming- I need to organize all the new inks and stamps that I've accumulated. I need to refile my paper. I need to find a place for embellies that aren't really a "color" or "theme". I need to reorganize my scraps. I need to reorganize my ideas/sketches. I need to organize my photos. I want to create some vinyl sayings for my wall to "pretty things up"!
2.Take a picture - did this already, it's on my blog.
3.Decide if you are going small or going big- going small this time. I went big the first time and it was awesome! Completely changed the way I scrap. Now I just need to tweak.
4.Create something - already did...lots!

Amanda, SO happy your DH is on his way home!! You must be SO excited!!

Question of the Week#1: Which Character on Gilligans Island best describes you? Mm a mixture of Mary ann and ginger…I'm sure my mom would agree..

Question of the Week#2: Did you create anything last week?
Still working on my Dec Daily 2010 but I do have two preplan layouts I want to work on. Just had a very busy weekend. I’m hoping to work on it later tonight

Question of the Week#3: what is your papercrafting passion? and if scrapping, what do you do most mini albums, 2 page layouts, 12x12, 6x6, whatever moves me today?

I mostly do 12x12 single and double pages I only do 8x8 for my Dec Daily. I do have couple 6x6 books for my recipes swap I did.
I realize that I don’t really like to do altered things… not really sure why. lol

1.Brainstorming-
I have couple ideas of what I want to do in the room however with tight budget I need to use what I have in house and determine each month of what I can purchase for room.
Items I’m thinking of purchasing in next couple months:
Sizzix storage
Stamp ink storage
Baskets for punches
Another table

2.Take a picture-done and posted on my blog: My blog and I also posted on linky.

3.Decide if you are going small or going big
I’m going midway since I recently move into this room so not all of my scrappy things are here. Most of them are still in other room so timing for this challenge is perfect. I will be removing anything that doesn’t had destination yet.

4.Create something—hoping to work on my dec daily 2010 tonight

off to make supper have a great night.

#1: I am definitely the Professor...very methodical, linear, a planner. As a matter of fact, my Mom used to tease me and tell me she thought I wouldn't go to the bathroom in the morning without making a plan for it (but she used crass words, which I won't post here!!)

#2: Yes I did...many layouts, actually; one is on my blog. I had a Christmas marathon and after scrapping a trip to LA next will officially be in 2012 scrap-wise!

#3: I am all about scrapbooks...12x12 2-page spreads, primarily. I really don't "get" mini-books at all!

It's dusk here, so I will post photos of my space tomorrow; when you see it you're gonna wonder "why is she here" since I'm already pretty organized. I did just get a new table because I wanted a place to scrap standing too. But I love, love, love organization and seeing other people's ideas hence my participation on the thread.

Heather Marie! So sorry that you are not feeling well. You are not a fail! ...we have only just begun! Hope you feel better soon. Good news is that taking a picture is not that labor intensive, and that really the only must do this week to keep on track.

Trust me, it will only make you feel better if it is an honest before pic, because if you straiten up before, you have to make sure that it is at least that clean for the after! LOL!

Get well soon!

Thanks for keeping us going! This is a great motivator.

1. Mary Ann. Probably not.

I love all the answers coming in!
Q1: Probably Gilligan. I do not mind being #2 (although it is maybe hypnotized evil Gilligan as I can also do being in charge), and I am very easilly distracted--a la Professor=Wach this; Gilligan=ok then *squirrel* My mom prob thinks that I am the Skipper.

Q2:Yes!

Q3:Mostly 12x12 double layouts because really, with 3 kids and a digital camera...how can you cull it down to do less?!
I also do a mini 8x8 every Christmas, and for special vacations/ trips.

I didn't post my brainstorming earlier, and since I am now hanging out on the couch SICK, I can't really work on organizing, but I can sure THINK about it!

My ideal scraproom would have lots of natural light; a couple of windows plus great downlighting. An island style workspace in the middle, with a chair that can be raised high (sometimes I like to stand while I work). My supplies would be displayed like an LSS: paper in the paper racks, embelishments on pegs on the wall. I like to see as much as I can when I scrap. All of my tools would be on or near my worktable.

I don't care too much about what color the room is, probably neutral but not dark; and I don't care too much about quotes on the wall. The only other thing I'd want on the walls are long narrow shelves where I can prop some pages that I'd like to look at. In one corner, I'd have a snack and drink station ... and it would have Coke Zero in a fountain machine! No cans for me! Plus one of those one-cup coffee makers, but I'd just have hot chocolate (don't like coffee). Lots of snacks that aren't messy, and a place to sit and eat.

I'd have a dock for my iPod as well as a kickin' sound system where I can crank up my tunes, plus a TV and DVD player in case I want to pop in a movie or watch TV.

Also, in one corner I'd have a station set up for my girls for them to scrap ... a table for each (2) where they can have their books laid out for when they want to scrap. I'd also hire someone to take care of the kids, house, pets, etc. while I'm scrapping so I don't get pulled away.

That sums it up for me!

I will be working on taking my scraproom before photo and layout for the week this afternoon. I've been a sloth this week when it comes to scrapping...

When I designed my ideal scraproom I also included a small refrigerator for drinks and a standing height work space...we have whole house stereo, so no need for the iPod dock! I listen to pandora radio thru the TV.

ETA: from Lisa's blog , I love this:

To my left (which is hard to see, since it fell over!) I have a clear cookbook holder which I use to prop up my ideas books. I saw a gal do this at a crop and thought it was ingenious!! This way, the book is upright and doesn't take too much valuable desktop space.

I am going to hobby lobby today to get myself a cute wire chicken one to use for this purpose.

guzismom - I'm sure you will love it! I get such great ideas from other ladies at crops .. and I'm happy to share these ideas! This was one of the best .. it keeps your book upright so you can see it better, plus it saves valuable real estate on your work table!

1. Which character on Gilligan's Island best describes you? Would your Parental unit/ mom agree? I'm definitely the professor. I'm always trying to come up with ways to create/fix things. I think my family might also say I'm the Skipper because I don't mind taking the lead on things that need to be done.
2. Did you create anything last week? I created a couple of cards.
3. What is your papercrafting passion? My papercrafting passion is making cards and notebooks/journals.

Brainstorming
My dream craft space would be a bonus room with an adjoining bathroom and small kitchen area with fridge, microwave, etc. I'd like to have beautiful dark hard wood floors and natural lighting with beautiful views to outside. Of course, it would be green because that's my favorite color. I'd love to have custom cabinets and shelving along some of the walls with a big table in the middle. I like to scrap standing up so the table would need to be perfect for my 5'8" height. Along the other side of the table, I'd like to have a couple of bar stools for the times when I want to sit down...like when I'm drawing and coloring. I'd also love to have a nice size regular height table so that I could have people over for crafting. I'd need a big desk for my computer and double monitors that would also be deep enough to house my Cricut and Cameo (which I don't have yet ). Flat screen TV on the wall so that I could watch the games on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and a nice stereo setup for those days when I want to craft to music. All my supplies would be in perfect order because of the custom cabinetry and shelving and the organization challenge, of course. Some type of water feature would be great...can you imagine the wonderful sound of water in the background?

My current space
Craftroom 1, Craftroom 2, Craftroom 3, Craftroom 4,

Going large or small
Last October, I switched my guest room and my office giving myself a larger space to craft in. I painted, bought furniture...the whole nine yards. I've been working on getting organized off and on since then, so I've already done the "going large" route. Now, I just need to finish up the smaller things.

Hi all! DH was gone this week and part of last week, so I'm a little frazzled. I don't know how single parents do it or parents with one partner deployed. Yow. I have a stack of grading that didn't get done and a host of things at home that didn't get done because I was constantly in the car...

Question #1: Well, the obvious is that I'm a bit of the Professor. (And for proof, I have to resist the attempt to launch into a little explanation about how the character types in Gilligan's Island are reinventions of characters from Roman New Comedy...) But there's also a bit of wackiness going on, so maybe there's a bit of Gilligan in there somewhere.

Question #2: I didn't create anything last week. I was lucky to just survive it! I did create some fun things at a class the Saturday before with Wendy Vecchi!

Question #3: My passion would be altered items or mini-books. When I have time, I do a lot of layouts, but if I have a block of free time I'm more likely to reach for a couple of pieces of cardboard or some Art Parts.

I'm going to post my brainstorming and pics separately, or this will be a very looonnnnng post.

I made it here. You'll notice I've been a member for a LOONNNGGGG time here at 2Peas (a decade! Can that be right?!) but I rarely post and never post projects. I'm not a loser or a slacker but I am private and don't like to share much until I know ppl. Tricky when you're online I know
I love Glitter Girl and MKM videos. I`m an American living in Canada with my sweet little family (Cdn husband and 2 little boys that are the light of my life). I miss home immensely -- STILL (Arizona born and raised but have lived in the east & midwest US as well as an adult).

Question 1: I want to say Maryann or Professor but I have a feeling I'm more like Gilligan in reality
Question 2: Yes, I made a 12x12 and also finished up another one. I started one that I hope to finish up tonight.
Question 3: I mainly do 12x12s but really, it`s whatever floats my boat. I make all sizes these days, some single, some double. A few minis here and there. These seem to slow me down creatively but I do make WITL and DD (and am thinking about JYC this year) minis.

My perfect scrap space would be in a finished attic. It`s my dream. It would be warm but with loads of light. And an antique furniture type of organization with updated or modern colours and accents. However, I live in a different world where my space is in a basement bedroom
And here`s a picture of my space right now...(I hope this works). I don`t have a blog so put them here on 2peas.
scrap space-before

I am going medium on organizing. I realized after last week as I was in my space more this week that the big stuff I have to do is photo organization (both digitally and physically), memorabilia organization and adding some shelving and a few more `bones` to the place. I will also be assessing having multiple locations for some items and whether this works with my wonky brain or is just fine
Simultaneously, I also am working on a system for moving other non-scrap related papers in and out of our home and possibly organizing CDs. These items share this space so I`ll be sneaking those things in on weeks I don`t have much scrap related organization to do.

Now, if I`m brave, I think I might even post a LO today or tomorrow. Hoping my little corner of the world stays in balance with all of these steps

Nice to meet all of you! Looking fwd to getting organizational ideas from you and seeing the places you each create, Heidi
ps I should really add a signature too... I think I used to have one. It was about 5 yrs ago. I`ll add that to my to do list this week!

Hope everyone had a great week

Question #1 - While I would love to say I'm most like Maryann, I'm sure my family would say I'm more like Gilligan

Question #2 - Well, if you cont the 2 weeks of Project Life I caught up this afternoon, then yes - I did create something this week. Oh and I made a card for my SIL yesterday for her engagement.

Question #3 - My paper passion are single 12 x 12's and cards. A couple of years ago I would have said it was double pages, so it's interesting how things change.

Scrap Room Dreaming :

I'm definitely going small this round. Fall is our busy season in our family and I just know there's no way I can manage to keep scrappy stuff "lying around" for weeks on end.

My dream scrap room would be a section of our main family room. I would take over the back 1/3 of the room and put my table behind the one couch. I would have a long dust ruffle (??) to cover the table so I could store stuff underneath the table. To my left I'd have an 8 x 2 Expidit on its side with my CH's of paper, embelishments, whatever ... or I'd have a Scrapbox.

My table would be facing the TV and I'd have my ipod docking station somewhere in the room close to my desk.

I already have a bathroom and a bar within steps of the family room and the light is really great down here. I have a scrap room and I just find I'm always so secluded in there, so I'd rather be closer to the family.

1 point for each Question of the week answered .

1. The professor - do you see all the books on the shelves? lol...
2. yep, on the blog!
3. mixed media. what scrapbooking i do really is whatever moves me at the moment.

5 points for showing up and attempting the weeks prompt or providing a photo to prove that it is already organized. You can fail the week, just post how your attempt was or wasnt, and we will give you credit.

on the blog

5 points for creating ANYTHING. The whole point of this is to create. Cleaning is NOT an excuse to not create for three months. (only one set of 5-so 1 card or 20 layouts-it is the same )

on the blog

1 point for linking in through Mr. Linky

i'm all linked up!

hope everyone has a wonderful week! now, i must work on classes that i've paid for in a very pitiful attempt to gain college credit and/or use some of my stash. lol...

Back to finish my posts. I actually updated my blog, for the first time in three years, and posted a pic of my scrapspace as it is today. Link to blog is in my signature.

My space now is in an open area in our finished basement. This is great in some ways, because I can work and not feel separated from the rest of the family. We live a pretty busy life, and I was finding in our old house that I tended not to want to shut myself away during the few times that we were home and I had some time to play. So the open space was kind of my dream to begin with, even though it might not be my fantasy space. (In my fantasy space, I have a door I can close and all of the time in the world to just shut myself away and play. Funny how your fantasies change as you age...!)

For this challenge, I'm going small. I don't really need to overhaul anything, just organize and refine. The biggest weeks for me will probably be paper (I need to purge!).

Still haven't created anything. Maybe tonight...?

You guys are doing awesome! Getting ready to start another week and you ladies ROCK! Glad to be getting some new faces too! I hope that you hang in there with us!!!

Will start Week 4 Paper, but my blog post wont be up for almost another 24 hours. DH finally got home from Afghanistan... after 9 months and I somehow lost the weekend in the whirlwind of it!

Sorry, I was sick this last week so I am playing catch up.

Question of the Week #1: Which Character on Gilligans Island best describes you?
I think I am the Professor (perhaps I overthink things a little). Not sure what others would say, perhaps Gilligan?

Question of the Week#2: Did you create anything last week?
Yes, a card. But the pieces were kind of precut from leftovers so it wasn't totally from scratch. Hoping to get the picture uploaded from my camera soon (if I can find the cable....)

Question of the Week#3: what is your papercrafting passion? and if scrapping, what do you do most mini albums, 2 page layouts, 12x12, 6x6, whatever moves me today?
Usually 12x12 doubles or sometimes 12x12 singles.

1.Brainstorming-Think of your perfect Scrap Space
Mine would be everthing in its place, easy to find, and accessible. Mini bar and TV a plus. A maid to clean up after I'm done crafting is a definite bonus.

2.Take a picture.
It was scary but I did it. Need to upload it from my camera. Where is that stupid cable...

3.Decide if you are going small or going big (and start to box up if going big)
Must. Go. Big. I am out of room and I find it difficult to sift through things when I create. I already have a box started and I toss things in as I go.

4.Create something- always remember to keep Creative Me happy!
I didn't get a chance to this week since I was under the weather. Hoping to make up for it next week.

Another one late to the party. I've been dealing with some family issues and I've been sick on top of that. Well, her it goes:

Question of the Week #1: Which Character on Gilligans Island best describes you? I keep thinking of that episode where Gilligan thinks that he's Ginger. I think I'm like that. Not sure if my Mom would agree.

Question of the Week#2: Did you create anything last week?
I made a card. It's a fairly simple card because I currently have NO room to work.

Question of the Week#3: what is your papercrafting passion?
Collage/multi-media. As far as scrapping goes though, I do a little of everything.

1.Brainstorming-Think of your perfect Scrap Space
Lots of natural light, lot's of storage options, room for all my various art and craft stuff. I would also love to have a place for my DD to work. Oh, and I'll take one of those maids that was mentioned too.

2.Take a picture.
Yikes!! I'll get that up a little later today

3.Decide if you are going small or going big (and start to box up if going big)
Gotta go big.

4.Create something- always remember to keep Creative Me happy!
Wasn't able to do it this week...too much on my plate.
