ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

I have decided, in light of the last few conversations, that I will NOT be the organizational leader next year. Everyone wants the freedom of discussing what they please, however when I decide to say something that I feel is right, it is wrong. So, I will just make life easy and out. So, there you have it. I will NOT be changing my mind again.

Keurig users I need help! My coffee pot wouldn't work this morning. The light for the filter was flashing so I thought that was it. Couldn't find the filters anywhere (which is annoying) so I bought new ones (freaking $25 when I know I have one here somewhere--so annoying)! Anyway, changed it out and it still is saying "prime." Any ideas?

Theresa -- google "prime your kuerig". We had to do it...it has to do with cleaning it. Stuart does it in our house. I can have him tell you what to do if you want...?? It's NOT broken!!

You didn't respond to my suggestion??

repeating suggestion for everyone

I'm afraid to respond to any more suggestions, LOL!

I've cleaned the water reservoir and the needle and it still says Prime. Going to eat dinner then clean it again.

Nylene, made potato soup--thinking of you with every bite!

Like Theresa, I'm afraid to comment!

Barbara, I like October Challenge and Chat. Very much what we do, and I think it's cute. Forgot to add that in my last 2 posts!

Sending hugs to all who need them today.

And Theresa, why is Walmart so crazy? Is something special going on?

Linda, I don't blame you for not wanting to be in charge next year. It's a big job. But please don't leave us!!!!!

Crisis averted, I went to the Keurig site and found several helpful videos on how to clean the different elements. Finally got it to work after cleaning the little filter at the base of the water reservoir. My goodness that was a lot of work!

I was teasing about being afraid to comment. I think we're all okay with sharing our feelings and that's good. Don't want things to look like a fight, just a discussion. But then again, the most popular threads on the board are the ones filled with controversy so who knows maybe a good argument here and there will draw in the crowd! ROFL, you know I'm joking. Don't want that drama here. I don't even read those threads although Randy and Trish love them.

As for the name change, doesn't matter to me as long as it's what the majority want. I do like the new suggestion, it works well and you're right it'll be something different every month so it might encourage newbies. I certainly do want it to be something we can abbreviate 'cause I'm lazy.

Let's do a poll and decide a name by next Saturday. Figure that will give everyone time to be on the thread, think about what they like before they vote.

Chatty Scrappers
Sweet Peas
(month name) Challenge, Chat and Cheer
(month name) Challenge and Chat

Give it some thought, make a decision for what you like and I'll keep a notebook handy to write down the votes with a running tally as the week goes by.

Another question I have is are we going to wait until January to start over or are we going to start over in November? I don't remember and again, I'm lazy, I don't want to go back to read last month's thread.

Nylene, wish I knew why Walmart was crazy! I don't know if it has anything to do with this being the end of Fall Break and people were either ate out of house and home during the week with the kids home or they had to restock groceries after being on vacation. The store was a mess and the shelves were empty. They didn't even have mixed vegetables, frozen or canned!

For anyone who cares, I think it would be better to wait until Jan. to start all the new stuff.

oh man, my tummy is full & happy tonight! I tried a new recipe - sour cream chicken enchiladas. They were delicious! Now, if only I could keep up with the recipe challenge, I would definitely make that one of my recipes.

I'm settling for a night of scrapping & movies

About the name - Yes, let's vote. I really like Chatty Scrappers, though, and that is what the consensus was before. I think it's good to have a unique name/identity for our group other than "challenges & chat" - there are a bunch of challenge groups on the GS now, and it would get kind of confusing, especially in the new year with new people. What about "Chatty Scrappers - October Challenges & Chat"? Or something similar.

Theresa- I really wish I could help you because that would mean I actually HAD a Keurig! I've wanted one for a long time now. I LOVE using Tammy's when I go to visit her. Yeah, I miss Jan but I think it's kinda odd that she left with no explanation... She visited a couple of my scrappy friends while I was in Oregon. I keep hoping I will run into her at my friend's house someday!

Linda- I hope you stay after all of this! I think there are just changes that need to take place in the group, and that they will make the group better & stronger.

Nylene (& everyone else)- I don't think anyone needs to be afraid to comment on anything! We all know each other & are free to speak our minds here

Nylene- I forgot about how you had met Diana in Florida! That's so cool. I sure hope there is another meetup someday that I can go to! I really love going to see Tammy every year, and it would be so cool if I could meet more of you in person!

Debi- It sure seems like fall weather hit all across the country today! It was rainy/stormy here today, so I've stayed inside all day, cozy and warm. I love this time of year! Just not ready for winter...

I have to bow my head in shame and admit that I am one of those who has slacked on the praising this year. I used to be so good at it! I would get up every morning & catch up on praise. I think part of it is having no solid routine every day (so frustrating for me )... Some days I wake up super early to sub and other days I sleep in because I haven't been feeling like myself lately. I also think that other things on the internet are sucking away my time - FB, Studio Calico message board, my Etsy shop, Pinterest, etc. I need to get into the habit of praising again, though, because I really love seeing all your work! So I have to say I'm sorry for not praising lately!

Well Monica, here's your chance to make up for not praising because I scrapped! Not only can you praise but you can get another great recipe. I did the recipe challenge for the month. LOVE pumpkin and cream cheese together!!! You'll have to post the recipe you made tonight sounds good to me.

Pumpkin Bars

Jan actually hasn't totally left, she is still giving us a challenge each month.

WOW!!! It's so sad how this thread went.
I'm not around much because I just don't have much to say and I get busy with life and work. But I have never felt this is a negative thread at all. Is life and life like Theresa said is not a bowl of cherries.

I have to say I have been hurt by some comment made here a while ago, but overlooked it and moved on.

I agree we should keep it the way it is until January.

Linda I know Wanda did not want that out. I think of all that has been said that pissed me off the most. That is something very personal that she entrusted you with since you are her friend. It's sad that you posted that.

Moving on ..................

Theresa...I'm so sorry for Emma and her family keeping them in my thoughts and prayers.

Tammy...Praying the Gary finds work soon. Keep the faith.

Tina...Did you have the interview yet? and how did it go?

btw..Chatty Scrappers.. has my vote, there aint nothing sweet about me. LOL!!! I also like using the challenges on two peas, it will give me a chance to really learn everything 2peas has to offer, I never venture out of this thread.

Like Lawrence Welk would say. Goodnight, goodnight, until we meet again
Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehn 'til then ....

Boy I'm Old....

Enjoy....

Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehn
Goodnight, goodnight, until we meet again
Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehn 'til then
And though it's always sweet sorrow to part
You know you'll always remain in my heart
Goodnight, sleep tight, and pleasant dreams to you
Here's a wish and a prayer that every dream comes true
And now 'til we meet again
Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehn

Diana & Theresa - Wanda gave me explicit permission to announce that she was getting a divorce. Do you really think I would have done it without her permission? She is my best friend, and I would not be able to breach confidentiality under any circumstances because of it being a moral issue with me. Besides, I've had 25 yrs of training. All student information is confidential.

So, keep on blasting me, I have broad shoulder.

I think I want to keep my vote for Chatty Scrappers and I think we should wait until January to start the new name.

Does anyone have any ideas for my fly problem? We have never had them before like this. I just don't want to hurt my kitties by spraying or should I just be patient and hope when the freeze really hits they will go away. I tried google and all I get is pretty much advertisements for products.

I'm tired and it is late - I'm going to read a chapter in my book and crash.

Later all.

Melanie, perhaps fly strips will help. They won't hurt the kitties because they hang from the sealing. Put one/two in each room. The paper in them are really sticky and once the fly lands on they, they are stuck for life. Hope that helps.

I like the Challenge, Chat and Cheer (month) idea best and starting new in January makes sense.

I'm so glad everyone calmed down a bit. I really had trouble sleeping last night, worrying about my friends. Linda, I think we were all scared you dropped the info about Wanda because you were angry and posting in frustration. It happens. I'm glad to hear she is ok with it and no friendship will be harmed.

Diana - hi there! You sound super busy. You go girl at admitting you're not a Sweet Pea, lol Talk about owning it...

Monica - you'll have to share that recipe - I love all things chicken. And I'm sure the thread is influenced by other social media. I'm not on FB or Twitter, but I see how it affects some of my friends. I've 'seen' you on SC too - haven't posted there yet but I'm slowly getting into that site. I'm waiting for my first kit - should be here next week. Then again, we know you to be very chatty and very involved all over 2peas, lol. I take my hat off to you with regards to enjoying 5th Grades. Mind you, I'd hate teaching in any form. I think teaching is a calling. Toni is amazing too.

Theresa - now I'm green with envy. A Keurig would be SO nice. Java Girl having one is kinda par for the course, but you too? No fair! One day when we finally do the kitchen I'm insisting on a coffee machine. We don't even have kitchen cupboards yet, after being in the house for 11 years. Something else always seems to take priority (like bedrooms for the kids)

Got to get the batteries changed in my camera so I can take photos of my recent LOs. Can anyone say procrastination? Except you, Debi, we know you can.

morning girls -

I don't know what to say, or where to start.
I am saddened...please let us not fall prey to the mean and vicious people on other threads/places. Like someone said, we are adult women;
we need to treat each other with respect and dignity.

I know that I felt very guilty thinking that Steven's passing was the reason a lot of people left. It seemed to fall about the same time. I tried not to bring it up too much, but like others have said, this was the place I go to for everything...I still try not to post too much "sad" or "bad" news, but that seems to be my life these days which is one of the reasons why I'm not around much; I really don't want to bring people down so I stay off the boards for that very reason.

I truly love you girls...you have been there for me through the worst days of my life, and there has been no one else who has. I repeat that because truthfully once Steven was born, and all the ups and downs we had as a family because of it, there were no more true friends. I know that sounds awful, but it is true. I've had a few friends, but they come and go because I was not able to be the friend they needed. I am basically alone/a loner now. So you all must know how deeply I have come to love it here and be part of such an amazing group of women. I love you all dearly. I hope to be able to continue to do so.

With that, I am for whatever name you all choose because that is not the important thing to me. To me, it's all of you, and those who have come and gone. I miss a lot of the girls that have left. I still play WWF with Jan so I still feel she's a part of my life. I speak to Wanda on occasion but I did not want to bother her with my problems as she had enough of her own right now. I also play WWF with Val, and I have hopes she'll come back and join us again.

So, believe me when I say, I love you all, and I hope we can get pass this and move on to bigger and better things, and more scrappy days ahead of us.

Thank you all for being here, always.

Good Morning Sweet Peas!

I'm being a bit of a slacker today...skipped Sunday School, I'm only going to late service. I didn't feel great this AM and THEN Mr. Honey tells me that I need to fix food for a pitch-in that I didn't know about and that we have to go to because he's on staff. So...I ended up ditching Sunday School to fix food and am headed over there in a few.

Anywho...dang, I missed being on here for a couple of days and things got spicy! You know me...I'm Switzerland, so I'll go along with whatever. I can post the thread for half of the months next year, or I can just be a member, it sooo doesn't matter to me. Coming to this thread is my home on 2 Peas, so whatever we do, I'll be here.

I am one of the people who have thought that the thread was a bit negative at times, but that is my own issue. Because of what I do for a living, I see abuse, tragedy and the dark side of life every day, so I intentionally don't read/watch the news or watch things that are dark & sad, I honestly just get so much of it at work. I try to avoid it in the parts of my life that I can control. So I just skip posts that fall into those categories if I'm not up for it when I see them on here, but I would never intentionally hurt anyone's feelings about it, nor do I think anyone else needs to change what they are doing. It's my issue.

I can't remember if I posted this month or if Linda did, but we could just post a survey question at the top of November's thread to vote on the new name, that way everybody could cast a vote and it would be a majority decision, done in plenty of time for the new year...easy peasy.

My next job interview is scheduled on the 23rd of this month, it is a long, drawn out process since it's a CEO position. If I clear this round, there will be one more interview after that and then it's the kind of job that you have to negotiate a contract for, so it won't be done any time soon even if they choose me. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers, I truly appreciate it, I am nervous about the interview on the 23rd. I honestly probably wouldn't have applied if we weren't trying to deal with the cost of Olivia's college, but we are and we will have one of them in college for 12 of the next 13 years, so we needed to do something different, my illness a couple of years ago put a serious dent in our savings. I did go buy a spiffy new suit this weekend, I'm midget-sized (5'1" tall), so I hate wearing suits, I always think it looks like I'm wearing my Mom's clothes...but I found one that is okay, just need to hem it. I think it kind of looks sparkly.

Well, have a good day ladies...I'm thinking happy thoughts for each of you & the Colts.

Tina

Good Morning my lovelies! The wind is blowing like a hurricane outside. Woke up early and my head is still hurting, think it's a combo from the paint on Saturday to who knows what stuff the wind has blown around. Stayed home from church, our Sunday School teacher is on vacation so I would have had to go to a different class somewhere anyway. Figured since I have to go to Louisville tonight I better not take a chance on going in and sitting next to someone with cologne on that would take me over the top.

Started the list for the name change.

Melanie, someone told me that if you take a small dish and place apple cider vinegar in it and a few drops of dish detergent on top then the flies will go in and won't be able to get out. Doubt the furbabies would touch it and if they did it shouldn't hurt them too much.

Diana, good to see you. You're going to have to stay off Pinterest so much and stop by here, LOL. I am SO suckered into that site!

Toni, thanks for putting it out that you've been staying away because of trying to keep the board from being depressing. You HAVE NOT!!!! But I know you felt that way and now you can hear from others that we love you and want to support you. We're here, we have big shoulders (or guess computer screens, LOL) and we want you to have a place to escape.

Linda, sorry for "blasting" you although I don't think that is what I did, was just hoping you'd go back and edit your note to remove the comment before too many people saw it. Wanda told me Friday night that she didn't want it on the thread. She, also, doesn't want to bring the thread down.

Michelle, got your vote down. My son got me the first Keurig. On my second one now. We don't drink a lot of coffee and Randy likes his stronger than I do so it works. I'd be too cheap to use it if we drank a lot of coffee. You can brew a whole pot with the regular coffee makers for the price of a cup.

I am driving our niece up to Louisville tonight, her Mom (Randy's brother's wife) is having more of her colon removed tomorrow morning and I'm going for support. I'm thinking they have misunderstood what the doctor has told them about where the cancer is and Julie wants me to be there to hear what the doctor says. Having been in their shoes I know when they say the word cancer everything else that follows doesn't connect to the brain. I told her I'd go and was able to get off work. Randy's brother got us a hotel room. I would have rather driven up early in the morning (it's about 2-1/2 hrs from me) and stayed here tonight especially since it is supposed to storm, but what can you do! Julie doesn't want to drive in the Louisville traffic and Rick (her Dad) doesn't want her to have to be in the hotel by herself. So if you can add Kay Lynn to your prayer list and toss in one for me and Julie traveling I'd appreciate it.

Best get off here, my head pounding isn't good for computer screen monitoring.

Ok Ladies, I am going to try and scrap today!!

Kevin is putting a turkey in the oven and I already have the potatoes, sweet potatoes and turnip ready to cook. Kevin can get the brussel sprouts ready and I will get the green beans ready closer to dinner time.

I am trying to remember where I have put the page kits I had pre-made so I could use them but my memory is not working this morning. Lol.

Seeing as I can't find them maybe I will just pick a Paper line and work with that.

Good morning. I was scrapping (or trying to) last night online with Monica B when a friend texted and said she was on my porch with "cocoa." We chatted until 1am drinking 3 cups of "cocoa." was nice to just relax. NOw to finish that layout.... It's nasty looking out there this am, wish they wold cancel baseball sooner than later today so I could plan accordingly.

My vote is Chatty Scrappers and to wait until January for a switch.

Theresa- adding your travels and Kay Lynn to my prayers. I hear ya on the cologne-it's one of the quickest ways for me to get a migraine. Hope you're feeling better soon. Like Linda said, if your Keurig breaks, call their customer service. Ours has broken every single time we have descaled it (and yes I follow the directions). Each time they walk you through a "fix" for it, and if it doesn't work, they'll send you a new one. think we are on our 4th too, after paying for one in the beginning from Costco.

Keurig owners- where do you buy your K cups from???? We use bigcatcoffees.com and amazon. any flavors or favorites? My fav. coffee is "breakfast in bed" (medium roast) and Gary loves Emeril big bold.

Linda- hope you can find some peace today.

Tina- what did you make for your "pitch-in"? (love that term). I'm always floundering for a potluck, I don't have a "go-to" dish, but wish I did. It'd make things easier.

Melanie- sorry, no help on the flies- we don't really have them. When we get the fruit gnats I put out a plate of a tad of dish soap that attracts them.

Diana- how is the jewelry business going? What is Natalie dressing up as this year?

Monica B- did you pin the enchilada recipe- I haven't made my rounds to pinterest yet today to see what life changing pins are there? sorry for bailing on you last night with no notice!
I think you getting on a set routine would help each day, whether you sub or not. Maybe your mom would pick up on it and do it too?!

Barbara- what are the girls dressing up as for Halloween? Great suggestion on the name for the group, but I do like the Chatty Scrappers name. I just had to walk away from the thread yesterday as it was causing too much heartache and disappointment.

Toni- I wish you would post more. I'm OK with sad news and such. It's Life. And for me to pretend everything is OK is just not my nature and I don't expect others to do so. I'm like others, if I can't handle it, I skim over it. I miss your daily talking about life with the kids- we had so much in common raising our teens together and I adored meeting you at scrapfest.

Nylene- Gary brought the rockets to a new pack info night to help another pack out. They LOVED it! I'm going to work it into one of our Daisy meetings this spring for fun.

OK, I need to do a tidy around here so I better back away from the internet before it sucks me in for hours.

Well obviously I haven't gotten off my lazy butt yet!

Melanie, here's something I pinned a couple of weeks ago that I found that might help to get rid of flies and knats. Looks like it would be safer for the furbabies too.

Tammy, counted your vote. As for the coffee I'll have to check out that site. I get mine from keurig.com. I have a standard order that ships every 5 weeks. I order 4 boxes and get shipping for free. They keep track of your orders and you get points which scores free stuff. I like Breakfast in Bed too, if that's the Wolfgang Puck one, I drank it this morning. I think my favorite is Green Mountain brand Breakfast Blend or their Vermont Country Blend. Randy likes stronger ones like Black Silk from Folgers or the Donut House brand. The hot chocolate is really good too although it costs a lot more than the stuff you can buy at the store. I get it or the tea as a free box every now and then.

edited, went to the bigcatcoffees site and they are a bit cheaper than Keurig.com but when you add the shipping cost I think it comes out about the same. Sounds like they'd ship faster though.

Lori, sounds like you're having another Thanksgiving fest! Wish you lived closer I'd head over. Hope you can have enough energy after eating to scrap.

good afternoon!
Boy, did I sleep in today. I think my body has been exhausted lately, and I woke up with major sinus issues which always makes me want to sleep & sleep. It's beautiful outside, so aside from laundry & scrapping, I think I'll let Dinky play in the backyard for a while

For anyone that wants it, here is the enchilada recipe: creamy chicken enchiladas

My vote for group name is Chatty Scrappers and start in January.

Diana- It's great to see you! Is the Premier stuff keeping you busy? How are the kids?

Melanie- Walmart sells these things that look like tennis rackets, but the inside part is electric, so you can swing it at flies to kill them! You could practice your tennis swing while you're at it

Michelle- Yay for joining SC! I so wish I could sub to their kits again, but it will have to wait until I find a decent job. The kits have been so awesome lately, though. It makes me sad! I guess it's more incentive to use up the ones I have, though! Yes, I am quite chatty online I am a social butterfly! And the teaching thing -- I love it, but it truly wears me out (because of my medical condition). Which is why subbing is nice because I can do it here & there, but it's just not providing the income I need

Toni- Don't you even think for a minute that Steven's passing was reason for the thread going "downhill"!! Honestly, I think we were all just glad that we could be here for you. I think it was a combination of other factors that contributed to people leaving. I think we shall overcome this and only grow stronger from here!

Tina- That makes total sense about wanting to come somewhere positive after being in a depressing environment at work. I'm like you, I sometimes just skip over the sad/depressing parts and try to keep things upbeat. But even I have been depressing lately, I know, because that's how it has been for me. I need to focus on being more positive!

Theresa- It is crazy windy here, too. I woke up in the middle of night to the sound of the wind, and remember thinking I hope it doesn't do any damage! My sinuses are all sorts of messed up... must be the change in weather & wind stirring stuff up.

Lori- Yay for scrapping!!

Tammy- ah, so that's why you abandoned me last night, huh? I seriously can't believe you stayed up that late!! I agree, I need to get on a good routine every day. I keep thinking I need to try to train my body to wake up early, even on weekends, but my internal clock is set to stay up late & sleep in I did it for school, though, so I can change if I try!

okay, I'm off to make some cards!

How about a little game on this beautiful Sunday to bring up the spirit of the thread? I got this idea from a thread on the GS board...

Fall This or That
I will list 2 things related to fall and the next person picks the one that is their favorite. Then, they post 2 more items for the next person.

red or yellow leaves?

I'm taking a break from cleaning, is like I'm never done.

Tammy...Business is picking up now have a party every weekend in October and getting Nov. on the books. The hardest part of this is booking the parties but selling is easy since people like the jewelry plus I make the show fun and I don't go on talking for ever, I say what needs to be said, promote the business a little, but I work hard on the booking. So so far so good, but I'm determine to make it work because I really like it. I also really like my new job, my boss is a recovering alcoholic and is the sweetest man in the world, he works hard at improving himself and boy does it ever show, and has such a great spiritual attitude I love going to work.

Theresa...I know that Pinterest is a big time killer, like I have a lot of it to kill in the first place. but it's fun and I do make those recipes often. so I say it's a little productive. lol. Oh and you should see my linen closet and my pantry...so organize. No a total waste of time. LOL!!!

Monica..Kids are doing great, Monica applied to go to a program here that you go to High School while attending college and at the college. It's a great thing other than the fact that her college classes are with college kids, but I have to let God protect her and this will be amazing for her. If she goes to summer school both the summer of 2013 and 2014 when she graduates from HS in 2015 she will have both her HS diploma and her AA in college (Lot's of savings there). She wants to be a Vet so she really wants to get accepted. Yesterday we received her preliminary acceptance letter, she has to take a test called PERT (i think) if she passes it we are in, if not back to HS it is. Daniel, is Daniel doing well in college but still his lazy self, although he has 2 A and 2B..guess that's pretty good so I'm leaving him alone, as much as I can. His looking for work because I really can't help him a lot, his scholarship money will end at the end of Nov. so he will need to tab into his loan that he really does not want to do..so now he has a sense of urgency and looking hard for a job.

Tony..my friend is so good to see you, I really hate to think that some people felt that way. It was a horrible time in your life and we were all here for you. ((((HUGS)))) one day they will be in real life.

Two day in a row that's a record for me. Remember when I use to scrap over 25 LO a month, last month I did only 5 and they were digi.. Pretty pathetic...

Scary costumes or Cute costumes

I vote for ChattyScrappers and agree starting in January would be good time for a transition to the new name. Thank you to LINDA and TINA for finishing out this year of CalendarGirls.

About to head out, wind has died down and the chance of storms is gone so hurray!

Diana, glad you found a new job that you like and that your jewery business is doing well. Several people sell it here and everyone loves it. It's also awesome that Monica can take college classes in high school. Jeremy did that, we saved a year tuition and he saved time. Sounds like Daniel is doing good too.

Debi, got you down for the name list.

Jumping in leaves or stroll through the woods?

Well, my day didn't quite go as planned. After getting everything ready for dinner(veggie wise) I got out the scraps left from a BG page kit to use up making a couple cards. Everything was all set out on my desk and I was about to look through my pagemaps books to find a couple sketches and we lost power. It was out for a few hours too which didn't work well with a turkey in the oven, lol.

Now I have almost got a card finished and we just finished dinner(turkey was cooled and put in the fridge to go BACK in the oven tomorrow, lol). The boys are watching Harry Potter and I am heading back into my scraproom for a bit.

I hope to get at least one card done today.

reading by the fireplace or snuggled under a blanket watch DVD

I seem to have caught some flu bug...or maybe this is just a relapse of last week's illness. Feeling achy, headachy and stomach still churning. Enough all ready. Zaps my energy big time.

Done nothing today, and it may end that way too. LOL

Apple Pie or Pumpkin Pie??

took the kids to old navy- there was a 30% off entire purchase. Got joey jeans for the winter and Becca a couple pair of leggings. found 6 shirts for me & kids on clearance rack for $1.97 each. and then 30% off of that! then came home and baked a pineapple upside down cake from scratch for Gary. He'll be home tonight- yesterday was his birthday. Tried to nap while it was baking, but the kids had 984 questions during that 30 minutes.

Theresa bigcat ships pretty quickly. I love their purrfect packs where you can do a combo of flavors- good way to try out new things.

Caramel Apples for sure!

Chicken Noodle Soup or Chicken and Rice Soup?

I may have scored an expedia shelving unit for free if I can make my car go there. Last night it was dead as a doornail; jumped it twice but the dashlights flickered all the way home. Been afraid to try it and now the girl giving the shelf away wants me to pick it up after dark...oy! Do I dare?

Pumpkin patch or apple picking?

Debi- eek, that's no good about your car! Did you explain to the girl about car trouble... see if she'll hold it for you?

Tammy- whaaat? 30% off at Old Navy... How did I miss that? I really need some fall clothes now that it's getting cooler. Ugh.

decorating for Halloween or decorating for Christmas

Monica- it was in store only this weekend. There was a FB fan code. but I found it by just searching oldnavy coupon. I knew I was going there for jeans/leggings. I had almost ordered online last week with the 15% code, but ms. picky needed to try on the leggings to make sure they weren't too big. I'm not a huge fan of old navy for me, it's too thin/wears out too fast, but for growing kids, it's perfect.

Debi- did you venture out?? score on the shelf if you were able to get it.

decorating for Christmas although when the kids were smaller I used to decorate big time for Halloween.

Butterfingers or Reeses?

Well I tried to venture out, but alas, my car was dead in my driveway. No lights, nothing. Now I don't know if it's the alternator, the battery or bad connections but it won't move and I'm not sure what I will do from here. Storms are coming, boys have their saxophones, mommy is sick and the car ain't moving so they will be hiking it to school tomorrow. And for as long as it takes me to figure out to fix it...with what money? Heck I have property taxes this month too...oy!

I called a friend with a truck but he wouldn't go out after dark. Said he'd pick it up tomorrow afternoon for me which is kind, but I'm hoping it doesn't get ruined in the rain in the meantime. What a waste. I did call the girl and explain and she said she'd hold it, but not sure if she'll do anything to protect it. After all the dry days we have had, why does it pick now to rain?

Ok I'm heading to bed; it's only 8 p.m. boys are on their own for dinner, organizing their school stuff, getting their headgear on and going to bed at a reasonable hour. I can not stay up any longer. I'm coughing non-stop and it's making my head pound and my attitude super grumpy. I don't even feel like watching tv.

Hope tomorrow is calmer.

Butterfingers! (Me & Bart Simpson, I guess)

Hot chocolate or hot apple cider?

I am *exhausted*. I'm off to bed but I wanted to vote...

I like Challenge & Chat. And I think waiting til January is a good idea.

(I think Chatty is gonna win, though so I wanted to ask: will the thread title have the month in it? I like that a new thread starts each month and I think the title should have the month named in it.)

G'night all,

Morning all. We're at the Drury Inn and its super nice. Comfy bed and pillows. Headed down for a free breakfast before we leave for the hospital. Julie is holding up well but Rick is a mess. Having breakfast with him to settle his nerves.

Debi hope you feel better. Sounds like a new battery is needed.

Barb I think we'll put the month in the title every month just to make it easier to search.

Hot Chocolate!!!
Dressing or candied yams?

I'm off work for most of this week...yay! The kids are all on Fall Break, so I'm looking forward to hanging out with them. I did end up having to go in for a couple of meetings this week, but otherwise, I'll be home.

The girls and I are going to do crafts today, so that is happy. I plan to get some of the challenges done too.

Debi - I hope you get your car issue worked out and that it isn't anything major. Car repairs are such a huge bummer.

Theresa - I prefer the Chatty Scrappers too.

Well, I'm going to get moving, have a nice day ladies!

Need to organize some things and work on a costume for a party.
Have a great day.

good morning!
I'm up at at 'em this morning. I'm determined to have a productive (yet fun!) day. I'm going to hit the job searching big time today... need to find something soon!

hmm... corn maze!
hand out candy or take the kids trick-or-treating?

Tammy- ah, so it was a special coupon? I'm not a fan of how Old Navy clothes are so thin & wear out easily, but they are cheap. I've found that I can spend 4x more on Lane Bryant and Torrid clothes, but they fall apart/wear out easily, too.

Debi- hmm, I'm guessing it is a dead battery, too. That is nice of your friend to offer to pick it up for you. Hopefully it will still be in good condition!

Theresa- I missed something... what's going on?

Tina- Yay for a mini vacation this week! A crafty day sounds fun. Do you think you'll ever get the girls into scrapbooking?

okay, I'm off! Have a great day I'm sure I will be popping in to play the game & post some projects...

Kay's surgery went well. Removed about a foot of Colin and some inflamed lymph nodes. Doesn't look like radiation or chemo will be necessary. Surgery took half as long as the surgeon thought it would. She'll be in the hospital for several days. Thanks for the prayers.

Take kids trick or treating

jersey or jacket?

Mondays are always hectic at work and at home. We seldom get home before 4pm and today was no exception. Heinrich just walked in (6:38pm) and the bread is finished. Ugh, I bought milk earlier, why didn't I check? So now he's off to the shops again...

Toni - I wasn't around when Steven passed, but I know I felt a bit guilty sharing over my mom's illness and passing too. But it really does help to talk to somebody(ies) who are not directly involved. I found I could share thoughts here I couldn't in real life. And I hear you on the friends disappearing when things get difficult. I'm a bit of a loner too. Except for one very good friend, you guys are my nearest pals. When Sean was smaller and all his Sensory problems and Dyspraxia were at their worst many friends stopped inviting us over because they couldn't understand him when he spoke and I suppose it made them feel uncomfortable. I'm sure it was so much worse with a special-needs child. Not for you, for them. And one's focus shifts to that child so much that it kind of excludes alot. I found I was so busy I couldn't always be the friend I would like to be.

Anyway, it does sound as if, between everybody suffering huge losses in their lives recently, that the thread could have been perceived as negative (and I totally understand where you are coming from Tina) but I prefer to see it as supportive. I think I might skip long discussions on illness if it were to come up as that is my working life, lol. You girls were great to me. I'm a lot more positive and 'happy' on here now things are going better.

Debi - so sorry to hear about that danged car. It must be driving you crazy! My Golf has a slow puncture, but that is simple to sort out. Just need to get to the garage tomorrow... Hope yours is something simple too, though it doesn't sound like it. Good luck!

Monica - I haven't received my SC kit yet - should be any day now. Ugh, international shipping takes forever. Teaches you patience like nothing else can I'm with you on the subscription. I've just bought this one and an add-on (okay, and a few other goodies to get to the $99 order for free shipping) and want to see how I like it before committing. What I've seen on-line looks great and everyone is raving about it. I'll let you know!

Theresa - so glad Kaye's surgery went well. I think your predictive texting got one over on you as I'm sure Colin wouldn't appreciate a foot being removed... who's Colin anyway? ROFL. I LOVE these typos! And happy the travelling went fine.

Lori - isn't that just life? You can have everything planned perfectly and some random spanner in the works throws your whole day. Hope the turkey survived till today. What did you eat in the end? Great for doing a bit of scrapping anyway. Post soon!

Diana - The jewelery is so beautiful it has to do well! But organising the parties must be hard work. Not everybody can afford to buy every month, so you must be looking for new clients all the time. The combined HS/college sounds interesting. We don't have anything like that here. I'd share your concerns too about a young girl with college boys, but she sounds mature. A Vet! Wow!

Can't remember much more now and need to get off here to get the boys to do homework. Second week of term and it's already a battle!

I just wanted to add that it seems a little drama has everyone chatting a lot more Not sure why but there is a lot of sharing going on! Love it! (oops, hope I didn't jinx it now...)

Let's just say life is getting bumpier right now...

I prefer JACKET, although my boys go with hoodies usually
raking leaves or shoving snow kind of a no-winner-LOL

Happy Birthday, sweet Toni! I really miss you when you aren't around. I think we are here to support each other, and I was glad you trusted us enough to let us know and love your Steven. His passing was a tragedy for all of us.
Love you!
