Theresa, glad that Kay's surgery went well.

Tammy, how was the retreat for Gary? Praying for the right job to come along.

Debi, I'm sorry about the car. We have spent years with undependable cars and it's so nice to have one that hasn't had any major problems. Hope it's an easy and cheap fix.

I'm working frantically to get my house in decent shape for a luncheon we are having here Sunday after Alexander's blessing at Church. I used to be able to clean the entire house in one day, and now I'm hoping it will be ready by Sunday. Old age is not for wimps!!

I finished a two-pager. I have never lined 3 photos up together on my little 8.5x11 layouts, but I love Lori's layout and decided to trim them and try it. So page 2 is inspired by that layout. That's 2 challenges for me this month.....a record for this year.

Michelle - I hadn't seen that washi, but you know that I LOVE it...put it right into the shopping cart that I have going. It's soooo me! Thanks for posting the link.

I sub to SC kits, most of the time I like the kits. I have subbed off and on for about 3 years, I'm thinking about ending it again, I'm usually not a big fan of their winter kits, they tend to be pretty neutral in color and I'm not big on neutrals, I prefer their spring and summer ones. Just try not to get swept up in the hype at SC, it seems to me that they work hard to generate a lot of hype (almost hysteria, at times) about their products. I try to only buy stuff that I will actually use from them, I love their Mister Hueys and some of the veneer shapes, but I think most of the pp they design is blandly colored in real life.

Happy Birthday Toni!!! I hope you have a nice day sweet lady!

Theresa - So glad to hear that the surgery went even better than expected. I hope her recovery goes quickly too.

Have a happy evening ladies!

Tina

Happy birthday, Toni!! I hope it was a wonderful one

Well, I did a lot of job searching today and ended up applying for 6 jobs. There is one that I REALLY REALLY want, so keep your fingers crossed for me! I ran to the post office, did some Etsy stuff, made a few more Christmas cards, and can't believe the day is almost over!

I'm subbing a half day tomorrow, in a 2nd grade class. Should be fun!

Theresa- I'm glad everything went well. Sounds like you need some rest now!

Tina- I hear you, I lose interest in SC kits more in the winter. So I guess it's a good thing that I will have to wait to re-sub I have to say, though, that I am drooling over the November kit + addons. And you nailed it -- SC likes to create a hysteria over their products. Good marketing scheme, eh?

Nylene- hehe, you crack me up! Hope you manage to get your house cleaned by Sunday, but if not I'm sure people won't mind

Michelle- Yeah, I can only imagine the frustration at waiting for international shipping! And it's so expensive I learned my lesson with shipping international for my Etsy shop. It's more than I expected!

Evening all,

TURKEY!!!!

Dark early, or Fall back?

Happy Birthday, Toni!
I hope you are having a happy day.

THERESA - so glad to hear that things went better than expected today. And I'm glad you're home and can rest! (Though it's nice that you got to stay in a nice place. Comfy beds & pillows are very important when you can't be at home.)

DEBI - Did you get your shelves? I truly know the stress of having an unreliable automobile and I hope that gets resolved quickly. And I hope you are feeling better today.

TINA - I keep forgetting to say: C E O?! YOU GO, GIRL! No matter what happens, the fact that you are being considered for that position is huge. Of course I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

DIANA - good to see you around again. It's so nice to hear how well your jewelry business is doing. I knew you'd be great at it. I'm glad you have a new job with a nice boss, too. That makes all the difference!

TAMMY - The girls are going to be Ariel (picked by Julia) and Flounder (assigned by me). I *really* need to get moving on this! I just don't feel like sewing. Thinking about you every day, hoping that job fairy shows up at your house soon!

NYLENE - WHEN were you able to get your house cleaned in one day?! I used to do that...when I lived in one-bedroom apartment, had a house cleaner twice a month, and lived ALONE. I can't even imagine getting ready for company in one day.I can't string together 20 minutes of cleaning with these two munchkins around!

MONICA -- fingers & toes crossed for your job search!

MICHELLE -- I don't even know what SC is?! I can't imagine being patient for scrapbooking stuff...sometimes I get so impatient to get something I see on line, I drive 75 minutes each direction to my friends sb store to have it that day! I am REALLY bad about shopping for SB supplies. (It doesn't hurt that I get a 40% discount in her store.)

It's Monday so Stuart is working late, staying at his friends over night. That means just me and my girls. I heard there might be luminescent plankton off our beaches tonight so I was thinking of taking the girls down to the beach after dark. We'll see though. I'm still pretty tired.

~ Barbara

p.s. I wanted to say that while I can see how someone might not want to get into all the sad stuff that gets posted here, I *greatly* appreciate that this a place where we can share our lives and count on support. As I said over the weekend, I consider you all my friends and part of being a friend is being there in good times and bad. Having you all as support during the process of adopting Charlotte was INVALUABLE to me. So thank you, ALL, for being there for me. (Can you believe my baby is almost a year old?! WHAT A YEAR, HUH?! )

Howdy ladies!!! just finished all my round on the internet, school, jewelry and even work, I worked from home today it was great. Hope he will let me do that more often.

Tammy..Forgot to tell you I'm not room mom for all the 2nd graders only to Natalie's class however, I'm the "lead room mom" woopy do!!! Not something I signed up for, something I got sucked in. And Natalie is so cute she said, mommy you do it because you love me and you are the best mommy. So how can you say no to that. LOL!
I tell you I get emails at all crazy times, before I would check my emails now. I check in the AM and at night. Is working out so much better.

This is why you should never judge anything or anyone. I bought this piece of jewelry that I really did not like, I really think is pretty ugly as a matter of fact. I had 5 ladies in my last show 4 bought this hideous necklace (obviously in my opinion). But my cousin said is beautiful buy it so I did, her show is in 2 weeks lets see how it goes.

Nylene, I use to clean my house in 6 to 7 hours now it takes me all week, so by the time I finish I have to start again. I'm just so tired these day I take 20 breaks when I clean. Too funny, but the alternative is even worse, so lets rejoice getting old...........

Debi...I know I promised you something but I really have not had time to go to the post office, I have 2 catalogs to send that will generate income and I still have not done so. I need to find a few minutes and head to the post office.

Now I'm heading to my happy place for 30 minutes than shower and Castle. Have a wonderful evening.

Watching The Voice.

Yikes - the cleaning house talk only reminds me that my house has only had a "lick and promise" clean for 6 months now. It is really bad! And with the flies it has gotten worse. Thanks for the ideas by the way, I bought some strips to put up to start with. I do windows on the first warm day off in November. Oh boy! something to look forward to!

After The Voice I'm going to go and take pictures of some layouts so get ready!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONI! Love from South Dakota.

Happy Birthday Toni! Hope it was a great day.

I feel quite guilty about all this house-cleaning talk. I have a maid/nanny who comes in 3 times a week, so I don't know when last I've ironed anything Linda cleans in the mornings and then babysits in the afternoons when I go to work. She's my life-saver. I don't know how women do it that work full time and have kids. All I have really to do is the 'big jobs' like washing down walls, etc.

Oh, I just have to share this: yesterday morning a woman came into the pharmacy with 6 week old twins! The cutest little things out. Our nurse had helped her fall pregnant, so she came to show off LLoyd and Lloyd Junior (yeah, their dad insisted both boys have his name!) Dad is Congolese, so they are dark chocolate in colour. So adorable. They are the first babies that have really made me broody in along time Wish I'd taken a photo...

Monica - hope the job applications go well. Holding thumbs esp for the one you really want. Yeah, shipping costs are often about half of my order value - I really try to get heavier things locally or place a bigger order to qualify for free shipping.

Tina - glad you like the washi tape. I thought of you as soon as I saw it. Very cute. Not something I can see myself using, but you can I'm sure. I'm so glad you are doing so well in the interview process. One step at a time... And I think I agree about SC (Studio Calico) pp being very neutral. That seems to be their signature. I'm going to see what it's like. Suppose I can always mix it with some brighter stuff of my own.

Need to get moving. I have a poster I need to get printed A3 size and laminated this morning. So wish I had a large format printer (okay, mostly for the 12" printing for LO's). The mornings seem to go so quickly

A little late but happy birthday Toni

I did a couple LOs today but haven't posted them. Not feeling much better, but I did get the shelving unit. Of course I spent the entire day waiting for my friend and wouldn't you know it, he delivered it the 15 minutes I was in the shower. Put it in my garage. I didn't even know he came. Ended up calling him several hours later and he told me he had dropped it off already...geesh was my face red! Car still dead, not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow.

Morning all. Randy had to be at work early and he woke me up (unintentionally). Freezing this morning, it's not that cold, think I am coming down with something. Throat was sore when I went to bed and I'm coughing a bit.

speaking of chili, my question is

chili with noodles or chili without noodles

Good morning! It seems that labeling ourselves 'chatty' has brought out the chatty in all of us! I'm happy about that.

Cute family movies I've out grown scary, though that makes me sad. I used to love them. Now they just give me bad dreams.

I am repeating myself, but... dark early, or Fall back? I really like that it's getting dark so early right now. I didn't realize how much I am ready for it to be Autumn. We are having very warm days (in the 80s near the beach!) but the sun being so low in the sky still leaves it feeling Fall-ish. And I love it!

Not much planned for today until swim lessons at 4:30. Let's see if I get any work done around here.

Hope everyone is having a great day...

Colorful Indian Corn

Hot Apple Cider or Cold Apple Cider

It is very difficult to get around without a car and no money for the bus. Walked to the volunteer place and back,,,took a total of 3 hours just for the walking...geesh, that's not going to work.

Had to go in though because the laptop they gave me wouldn't charge on the power adapter...got a new "used" adapter but needed to bring the laptop in just in case it was the battery or something else. Thankfully not, but that dang laptop must weigh 10 lbs! I was exhausted by the time I got back home.

Stopped by a car repair place and told them my car's symptoms and got an estimate ($150 if a battery, $450 if the alternator) and a good chance it could be both...with $2500 going to property taxes this month, and my bank account already overdrawn, it's going to be a crazy month. I so need a job...how does one go about getting a head hunter and is that the only way to get a job anymore? I have never used one...but my way isn't netting me any jobs.

I left a voice mail for the ex about my not having a car, but he never returned my call so I don't know if he checked his voicemail or not. Guess he will find out when he gets here. I'm sure he won't like it as it means he'll have to bring the boys home tonight. Oh well, I tried to warn him.

Heading over to another site to play in their anniversary games. maybe I'll get another page done. Then I'll post the 2 I did yesterday.

Tuesday--what's on tv tonight?

Evening. Boy did I pay for being off yesterday! I had 15 voice messages and a few faxes right off the bat. Wasn't happy about it either. To top it off they way over booked Doc and he wasn't happy, kept coming to get me to do stuff instead of the techs which put me further behind. Needless to say I was still there at 6.

Debi, I'd get another opinion on the car, sounds too high to me. I've replaced alternators before and it was no where near that much. As for the head hunter, you can post your resume online at places like careerbuilder.com and a few other places. I uploaded mine to what I thought was one company and somehow it posted to an online someone and I'm getting calls about travel nursing from everywhere! I didn't even apply to a travel place to begin with.

Can't believe you all have never had noodles in your chili, oh it's yummy. Get some elbow macaroni and toss a handful in next time. It's chili mac!

I love hot cider.

Evening girls -

Hope everyone is doing well. Haven't had a chance to pop on the computer, and haven't really read everything, just a skim over so
to speak.

Thanks for the birthday wishes; uneventful here, LOL. I miss our taking our family outing this time of year but short two vehicles and
our work schedules, there won't be a Smoky Mountains trip I'm afraid.
Maybe next year.

We've had a busy week, and it's getting a little busier. Kevin's offered to pay for our dog's surgery (she's got a broken blood vessel
in her ear and it's really weird looking). He also paid for her to go to the vet so we could tackle this flea problem...we really haven't been able to get rid of these things; it's terrible. Have never, ever
had a problem before. So, lucky us we've got a couple of great kids - now, watch, they'll do something stupid and I'll regret saying that, LOL. So her surgery is set for Friday morning. Thursday I'm going on a field trip with the 6th grade again. And of course JoAnns has been nuts with this sale. Had to pick Megs up from work the other night, and we didn't get out 'til after 10...luckily Megs was late getting out too. I want to make cupcakes for one of my students but that may have to wait 'til Monday, even though her birthday is Saturday. But with the dog going in in the morning, I don't want to chace ruining the cupcakes.

Anyway, sorry I've been MIA...Megs has been on the computer again and borrowing mine. I'm going to look into getting her one for Christmas, I think.

Anyway, again, thanks for the bd wishes. That is always so sweet to see.

Hopefully I'll be back on Thursday night as that's my next night off.

Have a great day tomorrow.

Hugs to everyone.

TONI my mom's dog got a case of fleas this year too (never had problems before) and it got so out of control he was ripping the hair off his legs. Finally went into the vet, and the vet said it was one of the worse years because it's been so warm, the fleas aren't being killed off by the usually cooler weather. They gave him a shot that killed any fleas on him immediately, and started him on frontline. We shampooed all the rugs, washed all bedding as the dog gets up on the bed, and sprinkled borax into all the carpets, furniture and corners...it dries out the eggs as well as the fleas. It works! And much safer and more effective than bug bombs or sprays. We've gone so far to use a lice comb on her dog daily to make sure we got all eggs off and any live fleas. it's taken a month to finally have gotten through a whole week without finding a flea. But now we finally aren't finding any more.Good luck with getting rid of the fleas and on the ear surgery.

I like pumpkin pie better than apple crisp as long as I don't have to eat the crust (gluten sensitive).

FOOTBALL although I don't get a chance to watch it nearly as much as I'd like!!

Pumpkins or Jack o Lanterns

DEBI -- A head hunter doesn't cost you anything. They get paid by the person who hires you. So it can not hurt to use one. Theresa's ideas about putting your resume on line is also a good one. The more ways you expose yourself (sorry, that doesn't sound quite right, does it?!) the better. Pursue every avenue that is available. Most of them are free to the potential candidate. I sure hope it's just the battery on your car! How'd the ex handle the situation? I'm guess he was not full of support and understanding.

THERESA -- Are you considering the traveling option? I hope you were able to have a peaceful evening after such a stressful day at work. Clearly those people don't appreciate you appropriately--I hope they fix that (or that you do )

TONI -- good to see you, if only briefly. Sorry about the dog but I'm glad you can get the surgery. I hope it goes well.

NYLENE - I hope no one jumps on any couches this evening! You are so wonderful for volunteering like that. TAMMY - you too!!

Tomorrow we are visiting the first of the kindergarten's we are considering for Julia. We are really torn about what to do next year. We really, REALLY believe in being part of the public school system. But with all the cuts, the kindergarten class is rumored to have become very unproductive. So we are investigating our options. I find thinking about schools for a 4 1/2 year old both stressful and bittersweet. Emotionally overwhelming.

Does this sort of thing happen to you: I ask DH to burn an exercise DVD onto a blank DVD for me. (yes, pirating. sorry.) He says I have to wait until he can get more blank DVDs. I say "there's some in the cabinet in Julia's room." And he argues. "No, those are CDs. They won't hold a video." Now, I *know* those things are blank DVDs because I recently packed them into that cabinet when we moved J's stuff into that room. But I say "ok." Then I mention that he should check that cabinet. Then I wait. And wait. And wait. Finally tonight I went into J's room, took the blank DVDs out of the cabinet and handed them to him as he was headed out to his desk. Why do I listen to him? And why is such a small thing getting on my LAST nerve tonight?!!!

I'm going to sleep. I must be tired...

g'night sweet peas!!

Silly factoid I keep forgetting to share:

My 'Inspired by Art' layout for last week's 2peas challenge got its title from a 70s song called "Dancing in the Moonlight." I considered using that title as my title, but there's no dancing in my LO so I went for a line in the song...

SO, who remembers King Harvest's "Dancing in the Moonlight"????

Funny scarecrows or scary scarecrows

Morning all. Took Nyquil last night and am feeling quite a bit better this morning. Didn't wake up coughing my head off.

Toni, I'll second Debi's use Borax on the floors comment. It kills everything out and even makes the carpet look cleaner. I boraxed Joyce's whole house when she had the fleas and then the imaginary black mites. Hard to find though. Only have one store that sells it. It's in the laundry detergent aisle.

Off to the shower. It's a baby doc day.

FUNNY SCARECROWS!
yellow leaves or red leaves

Do you have a Fred Meyer? Cheapest place I've found for a box of Borax...yes it's in the laundry section. A lot of grocery stores carry it.And it won't hurt your carpets or furniture either. What you don't need for flea control you can use as a laundry additive.Don't get hooked into buying it from a petstore...very expensive there. Good luck.

Well I'm none worse for my walk yesterday, although I still am battling this cold/allergy/flu whatever has taken over my body. Planning on staying home although I need to walk to the bank and make a deposit as my bank is completely empty....got to find a place to take my car too. Can I just go back to bed? I'm on my second cup of tea already.

If I find time to be online, I can participate in 3 different challenges today...embellishment challenge, a scraplift challenge, and a sketch challenge...so maybe I'll scrapbook today.

Funny scarecrows

Wow, it's hard to think 'Autumn' when it's getting hotter and is so obviously 'Spring' here

duvet or blankets?

Barbara - I so know the feeling. They sometimes just won't 'hear' what you are saying. I try not to be a nagging wife, but, after asking for something for the 30th time, I do get irratable. Then DH goes 'But why didn't you ask?' AAARRGGGHHH! What have I been doing the last few days? Whistling to myself? Even with the kids I sometimes feel like a radio on in the backgroung that nobody really hears.

Debi - you walked 3hrs with a laptop? You go girl! How did the ex react to having to bring the kids back? Lol, maybe he'll pay for repairs if it means he doesn't have to drive? Nah, didn't think so.

Toni - my cats have fleas too for the first time in years. I'm going to have to try the borax trick. We only have carpets in the bedrooms (rest of the house is pigmented concrete) so doing those shouldn't be too bad. We give them Capstar to kill all live fleas and then start frontline too. Money is a bit tighter right now as DH didn't get his full salary this month... thank goodness I did. Just never ends... I'm lucky that the fleas leave me alone, but DH and Ruan are all but being carried away. Mosquitos are my nemesis but they haven't started yet.

Melanie - how is the fly situation? Don't have any advice but it sounds like a horrible problem to have.

Monica - hope you had fun subbing. Got my SC kit yesterday and was a bit underwhelmed. As Tina says they do hype it horribly and it just didn't grab me the way I thought it would. Looks much 'paler' IRL than in their pics. Gonna have to add some brighter colours It does have the first Thickers I've seen and I can see where the comes from.

Happy Hump Day!

I finally downloaded my photos from my camera, so here are a few layouts and that photo of the whales I was talking about on my mini-retreat. The photo was taken from the window and, as you can see, there is a spectacular view.

October 31 was for last month's stitching challenge and

monkey monkey monkey is a scraplift of Tammy's 'Senior' LO. It started as inspiration as I have the same pp in a different colour but it kinda took on a life of its own and ended up much more intricate than I planned. It now qualifies for Monica's 'use something from nature' challenge with the leaves, tree and monkeys, lol.

Whale view

ETA: Ugh, the photo wont show as an image, so you'll unfortunately have to link to see it. Sorry.

Duvet!

I had never used one until 3 years ago and I will never go back. It is so warm and cozy!!

looking at the stars or watching the northern lights?

I had a busy day. Spent the morning at the school library helping put books away and putting protective covers on some of the new books to go out on the shelves. Then Kevin and I went to Costco and did some groceries. I got a few ideas for Christmas there too.

I am hoping to finish the LO I did last night after the boys are in bed. I may even get some time to scrap tomorrow, yay!! It's been a good week with Kevin home Tuesday and Thursday, HE gets to take the boys to sports and I am enjoying some down time.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good tutorial on how to use the Layered templets for digi LOs. It has been so long that I honestly can't remember how. I have a few downloaded for years ago that I thought I might try working on while watching TV with Kevin.

Hi all,

If I could see the northern lights, I'm sure I'd love that. But one of the best things about living here in Santa Cruz (instead of the over-populated San Francisco Bay Area) is that every night provides an opportunity for looking at stars

A hearty meal at home or a fancy meal at a restaurant?

Hope everyone had a good Wednesday. Tonight I *will* sew!!

Yeah, we'll see...

Foe digi help, go to the tutorials here in Classes & Events->free classes->past classes (look for Sande Krieger's class and Erica hernandez's class) and you will be up and using those templates in no time.

I'm thinking I have all the praise done!

All the cute Halloween layouts are making me think back to when I was a kid. I don't remember doing much for Halloween. There are not any pictures of us in costumes. I remember a party at school where we dressed up of Halloween but no pictures that I can find. We didn't really go trick or treating either. Living on the farm, we didn't go into town much. I think I remember trick or treating once and we only went to a few aunts and my grandparents. And since we have no kids I really have no Halloween layouts. Maybe one or two from when our niece lived here.

Oh well, that's all from me today. Have a wonderful day tomorrow everyone!

Good morning, Girls!

It's a beautiful sunny day though they are predicting rain for tonight. I'm in a really good mood this morning. Need to do some work, but I think I'm gonna scrap till I need to fetch the kids. The work will always be there, right?

Can you say INSOMNIA?!

I started cutting the fabric for Charlotte's costume tonight, but I was too tired to set up the machine so I went to bed. Now I am wide awake. And I still don't want to sew. We are two weeks from Halloween and I've barely started. Why do I do this to myself. ??

MELANIE -- do you get trick-or-treaters where you live? I find that is much more fun than trick-or-treating ever was. WAY MORE FUN. We don't get any t-o-t'ers at our house (county road has no side walks) so alas, no opening the door to a bunch of excited children for me. I recently learned that a local church has trunk-or-treating...people set up in the church parking lot and the little goblins go from car to car instead of house to house. I might do that next year.

I guess I'll go stumble around on stumbleupon.com or pinterest.com...

Hope everyone is resting peacefully. Except Michelle, I hope YOU are getting lots of good scrap time in.

Oh no Barbara! Insomnia is the pits! I haven't started my kids costumes either. Haha, Kyle will probably end up as the Grim Reaper - just need a big black cloak The other two normally come up with some weird ideas so I'd better get them to decide on something soon.

We go trick-or-treating around our block. It is pretty quiet and off the main roads. Lots of fun. I'm the paparazzi, lol!

Here are 2 more from me: trans4mers was for last month's confetti challenge. Remember I left my cutting mat at home even though I took my Sill with on my little trip? Well, I decided, since I had the time, to draw and hand-cut the Autobot face for this LO. Old School!

Those eyes isn't for a challenge but I did stamp a lot of butterflies and fussy cut them. Very relaxing, actually.

Hope you get a little sleep tonight Barbara or you're gonna feel it tomorrow...

Yipee! Just had to post that I finally reached 1000 posts! My kids will be glad to see my 'nickname' has changed. They weren't impressed with their mom being a buckethead, lol.

Thanks, girls, for keeping me chatting!

morning girls -

thanks for the borax tip...I'm going to try to hunt some of that down.
probably work on getting it done on our next "day" off from school.

Barb - Trunck or Treat is a lot of fun. We don't get any "treaters" here where we live either. Too far off the main roads. When we lived in Florida we had a blast though; great neighborhood for trick or treating, and we always went way out with the decorating - we would even run out of candy! It was soooo fun when the kids were little. Still one of my favorite holidays. My boss at JoAnns was shocked when I told him that Halloween was one of our best selling months/holidays.
The stuff flies off the shelves In fact, most of the Halloween stuff is already gone, but we still have a lot of the autumn stuff left.

Well, I've got to go...just wanted to stop by real quick. Going with the 6th graders on a field trip hiking in Westley Woods; I'll probably end up with the kids who can't do a lot of walking because of their size...there are a lot of hills and a lot of walking. I can see Haley and Shaye falling way behind...sigh. oh, well, it will be fun anyway.

See you all later.
Have a super day.

Happy Thursday my sweeties!

Was worn out yesterday and then came home to find that the little boy I told you about with the Thumbs Up campaign was almost gone, he did die. We all knew it was coming and even though I didn't know him at all I just didn't feel like doing much after that so I vegged in front of the TV. Have to say though that he has done more for childhood cancer awareness in the last year than any other person ever! He said that he thought that was the purpose of him getting it, to bring awareness and hopefully a cure. He sure worked hard. Keep his family in your prayers. Emma's too. They're both now at the point of no longer having to be strong for the kids and it's even harder to cope.

How about we start a new chat subject? What was the favorite costume that YOU wore? Either as a child trick or treating or for some other occasion.

Good Morning Peas!

I'm on here trying to avoid doing work. So...you know that my dh's family is a little "special"...so my sil decides that Mallory's room needs to be re-decorated, I knew that she'd talked to Mal about it at a couple of birthday parties, but didn't really think she planned to do it. So she sends me photos from Pinterest telling me that she wants to paint strips on Mal's walls, so I agree to get the paint, I'm on vacation from work so I start doing the trim work yesterday...and guess what...she didn't show up at all. Ron laughed, said he and Mal bet each other that I would be the one who got stuck doing a project that I don't think needs to be done. So now I'm halfway through a painting project, so I guess I'll be finishing that today.

Michelle - You have been deprived...I can't believe those are your first Thickers, I'm a serious addict, they are my favorite.

You all are making me itch talking about fleas...Toni & Michelle, I hope you are able to get rid of them, getting bitten in your own house stinks.

Toni - I hope the dogs surgery goes super easy. It's really sweet of Kevin to pay to get it done...you raised a good boy.

You all have been doing some serious scrapping, I'll come back later to catch up on praise. I got a few LO's done, but need to get them scanned. I've been lacking mojo for the past couple of weeks...can we say unmotivated???

Anywho, I guess I'll go get this painting over with. Have a good day!

Good morning. Boy it sure is chilly in the mornings now.

Tina- I'll send you some photos and tell you that we should paint my house together, and wait for you to show up. LOL. HOpe your enjoying the creativeness of it!

Theresa- sending a prayer for Lane's family. Children can sure teach us about about making an important mark in our time here on earth.

Michelle- whoohoo on becoming an addict!!

Barbara- I hope sleep found you. Today is a new day for working on costumes.

Debi- were you able to do all the walking yesterday?

Toni- Kevin has a good heart. Prayers for your pups surgery. And for you for the fieldtrip today!

I think I forgot some, but the kids are awake early and talking to me. Before I had my coffee. Not a good plan. LOL.

'Morning ladies,

I hesitate to call it 'good' because I am sooooo tired!! But we don't have a lot of planned activity this morning so I can just hang out with my DDs and get ready for a busy weekend. It's a nice way to handle a tired morning. The sun is shining and the sky is blue--that helps with my mood. Also, Stuart bought me some Pumpkin Spice coffee for the Keurig. I add little bit of cinnamon vanilla creamer and it's like pumpkin pie in a cup! That helps in so many ways.

MELANIE: LITTLE! I typed 'when you were live' and I meant to say LITTLE!! Sorry, it was the middle of the night.

TONI: Enjoy that hike. Hope the weather is good. I can't remember where you are, but I hope you are having good fall weather. It's so nice of you to take the young'ns out!

THERESA: sorry you're feeling down. It's understandable, though. The loss of children is unimaginably depressing. My thought's are with Lane's family and here's a big hug for you. Hope today is brighter!

TINA: Yikes! How uncool is that?! Who won that bet? Ron? Mal thought her aunt would show up, right? There's a big life lesson she's getting...remember she's learning from how you respond, too.

MICHELLE: Congrats on becoming an Addict. (Not something you ever expect to say/hear, huh? )

DEBI: How are you? I love that you're doing seasonal LOs. Getting me in the spirit!

WANDA: If you're out there, I'm thinking of you. I hope things get better soon.

We're spending the weekend in Berkeley because the Cal v. Stanfurd (boooooo) football game is Saturday. I have to get everthing ready for the 18th Annual Big Game Tailgate Party. EIGHTEENTH?! It's always tons of fun, but loads of work and an early Saturday morning. I have to marinate the tri tip and then I'm ready.

Have a good day, ladies!!

I forgot to say that my favorite Halloween costume ever was 'Princess Spring Summer Autumn Winter." I was a little native american Brave. (We said Indian Brave at the time, since political correctness had not yet developed--on the east coast, at least.) I'm gonna try to dig up a photo. I know I have one somewhere.

OMG. Look at this new design! It's so...WHITE.

Kinda hard to see on my laptop screen. But it's very clean and pleasant. I'm sure they're talking it up on the boards...think I'll pop over and see what people are saying.

Quiet up here today. I'm keeping us on Pg1, though.

I think I need to get sunglasses to see the screen. Not liking this too bright thing at all. Also annoyed that the location and most importantly the post count is gone. Darn, 7 years worth of posts, I worked hard for that number!!!

Lori, you have to have a photo that is under 500 in size. Go to the little icon on the very top of the screen that has your peaname. Drop down the link and click on Account. Then you will see the spot to change your photo.
