Hi, Loni and thanks for getting us kicked off again! Scaryingly {yeah, not sure if that is an actual word or not, but it would so fit if it were!}, all of my little people are snoozing right now!!! Im in the middle of making more subway art boards and attempting the whole chalkboard/menu thingy today, so thought I would pop in while the first coat of paint dries.

It is the usual crazy week here {in the evenings atleast}, so I will be in and out...as usual...lol!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Hi Elizabeth! I was hoping you would. It's hard to keep up with 2 groups, but I think I can try!

Hi Misty, That is so awesome that you are working on some subway art. I almost did one once. Tell me it's easy so I can make mine, finally!

So, we are kind of starting with a clean slate! What do you guys want to do with our thread? Just chatting or do we dare do challenges and discussion topics?

Elizabeth, meet Misty! Misty, meet Elizabeth!
Misty has 4 kids and she does daycare. BUSY, BUSY Mom!! I tell ya, especially during softball/baseball season. She lives in Missippi.

Elizabeth lives in Oklahoma and is hoping to move to Houston soon if her Hubby, who just graduated, gets a job he wants - or is it the one the Elizabeth wants him to have? She has 2 girls. Right?

I know Misty from our previous Manic Mom threads and Elizabetinh through the Young Scrappers.

Okay, everyone else is going to have to introduce themselves!

I'm Loni, mom of 4! Hubby is a physical therapist and we live in a rural town in Wyoming.

Yay for Manic Moms!
Well, can I just say how happy I am for the start of a new month? September just kicked my pants and October is looking less nutty. Somewhat. Gearing up to go visit my parents this coming weekend, it's Canadian Thanksgiving already! This is the first year in three that I'm not hosting and I'm happy for the break. Off to help my littles with schoolwork.

Hi Ladies! I'm Elizabeth mother of 2 girls I homeschool and a wife of 6 years to a grad student. He graduates in May and hopefully picks a job somewhere beautiful. At this point I'm not picky just want him to be happy working there. I am also good with doing challenges and of course chatting.
I think this month will be a little crazy, but nothing can compare to September. Looking forward to meeting everyone and having fun.

Hi Fellow Moms!

I would like to join in. I have totally lost my mojo and need a good boost.

I am a mother to 3 with my 4th arriving late winter. I am a stay at home mom who teaches an occasional class at my lss.

Would love to know how moms with 3+ make time to scrap. I'm having trouble getting any time in for myself. After all is done at the end of the day I am way to tired to scrap!!!

Look forward to meeting everyone.

I love it Jessica! Let's make this our question of the week!

How do you - even though you have kids - make time to scrap?

I do all of these things. Nap Time, Designated Day, Date with my scrap room, or mix it in.

I am getting back into my routine again, but what I try to do is get the housekeeping and kids taken care of so that I can scrap during nap time. Sometimes it's hard to focus on housekeeping when I just want to scrap so I mix it in (20 minutes here, 20 minutes there) I try to designate one day a week as scrap day (working on this, should I do Wednesday or Friday! I can't decide)- but that hasn't worked out for like a year! haha Also, I used to have hubby take the kids one night a week and I'd shut myself in the scrap room for 2-3 hours. He was lamenting the other day because we can't shut the door on my space anymore. The kids always find me and he can't help that my 15 month-old just wants to be held BY ME!

Hi ladies I am new to the Manic Moms. I am looking forward to October things start to calm down and the kids have eased into their school routines by now. Plus I love all the fall activities that start happening in October.

My name is Stephanie and I am a mom to 3 girls, ages 13, 12 and 8 (almost 9). They 13 doesn't live with me full time but she is there 99% of the time here lately. She only stays over night on weekends and holidays. But she is in the process of moving back in with us permanently. Between band, school events, church and youth events with the church and family outings I stay busy. I also work part time with my husband when needed.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi,
I am Jaimee from MN. Previous Manic Moms chatter.

I work full time in product development and have a 3 1/2 year old boy. Married to the hubs for 5 years (together for 14).

How do I find time to scrap? This is a tough question that I get asked often because I usually keep up to date for the most part.

Now I only have one child but my day starts at 5:30 am and by the time I pick him up and get home, I have less than two hours until his bedtime.

So I just try fit it in when I am not too tired. And I try to do crops nights every few months to make some progress. I don't stress too much about finding the time, I guess you could say the time finds me when it's available.

Welcome to the new ladies! Looking forward to getting to know you better.

I find time on the weekends usually just Friday and Saturday and a lot when the kids are sleeping. We have a bedtime of 7 or 7:30 so it gives me enough time to do a little. I also attend a meetup of my friends once a month to scrapbook (she mostly knits- drives me crazy bc I go to scrapbook). Since the summer I am trying to get back into it after only scrapping about once a month previously. (way to busy and tired). Now I am getting use to my schedule and I like it for the most part it has gotten easier.
Loni: I hear you on being the only one to hold your child. Lailani, the youngest, has this weird attachment to me and ever since she was born would really only let me hold her. Here recently she won't get out the bed unless I hold her (today she wrapped around my leg as I went to wake up my oldest). It's hard at times but it's a balancing act and I'm sure everyone has something that works for them but not for others. We more hours in the day.

I've been hospitalized since July. My husband has had to do all the manic Mommy stuff.
I miss it so much.
I have started a P365 journal of my journey for them if the worst should happen. Not very scrappy but it is therapeutic.

Me again Thought I would do a more "formal" into for the new Manic Moms...

My hubby {of 17 years} and I live in South Mississippi {which is where we were both born and raised} with our four kiddos. By day, I am Mimi to five little people and by night I am Mama, Wife, Taxi Driver, Nurse, Housekeeper, Biggest Fan in the Stands and much more!!! Some ask me how on earth I do it all, but when I really ponder the question I am reminded that Im way too blessed to be stressed!!! Sure, there are days when I just want to go hide and have a "do over"...however, I know that God has me here {now} for a reason. Not sure what His big plan is for me, but Im going to do my very best to just enjoy the ride from here to there.

My oldest three kiddos are very active in sports. My son plays baseball {Spring, Fall & Tournament} and my girls both play softball {Spring, Fall, Tournament & School}...DD#1 also runs Cross Country, is very active in FFA and shoots with the High School Archery Team while DD#2 plays Jr. High Basketball. Outside of these sports, the entire family hunts and fishes year round...the four year old even goes with us.

I look forward to chatting with you all!!!

Now, to answer the question: How do you - even though you have kids - make time to scrap?

I scrap with a group that meets two to three times each month {unless my kiddos are playing ball, running Cross Country or participating in some other event}. I would love to have more time to play, but will take what I can get. If Im lucky and am able to get the creative juices flowing in between our meetings, I sneak in a little bit of scrapping during naptime and/or after bedtime.

Okie dokie...time to switch out the laundry and call it a night

Hi all, hope you don't mind if I join you!
I'm Dawn have 2 boys aged 3 and 1 and work part time as a waitress in the evenings when they're dad is home to care for them!

My main problem is always needing to tidy my desk so not having time to scrap!
I'm going to try and schedule in more timer to scrap and organise photos rather than wasting endless hours checking all the forums and facebook!

Hi everyone! I'd like to join in too!

I'm Jennifer, I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 3 year old boy with another on the way (actually scheduled to make his/her appearance in the world in 23 days). I work part-time in the evenings and weekends as I can. My husband and I have been married for 6.5 years and moved to Houston (from Tennessee) 6 months after we were married. Houston is ok but we would rather be back in Tennessee as all our family is there and I miss the seasons, though the hubby does enjoy all the sporting events Houston has to offer.

As for the question of the week, I find time after the little man has gone to bed and on the weekends. We are to the point where we are semi-phasing out nap time. It really just depends on what we have going on each day as to whether he will nap or not, but he does at least enjoy an hr of quiet time in his room when we are home and able to make it happen. But with the new little addition coming in less than a month, I've been frantically trying to get everything in order around the house so my scrap time has been cut out some. I am nervous about how the transition from 1 to 2 is going to go and when I will find time to scrap with 2 kiddos in the house though.

Jennifer, it's not that difficult with 2! Mine are 2 yrs apart in age and both go down at 7pm and sleep till 7am. Eldest turned 3 in May and doesn't have a nap but can be left downstairs playing in the afternoon while I do a few jobs or gather supplies. The hardest thing is the newborn stage when you have little sleep. I used to make notes in a notebook of things I wanted to scrap, dates etc and then use that as a reference when I did get round to scrapping!

Welcome to all the new manic moms joining our little group!

Loni, thanks for starting us off!!

Me, my name is Jill and I only have two kiddos, 7yo dd, 9yo ds. I am in awe of anyone with more than 2 as I can barely keep it together! I am a SAHM, but work from home part time for my Dh's business (he is a dentist). We live in New Hampshire. I thought that now that my kids are in school, I would have more time for everything! I don't know where the time goes! I do a lot of volunteering for school and our local library. That eats up way more time than I could ever have imagined! As for scrapbooking, I often get a few hours in at night while DH games on his computer (we are at least in the same room) and sometimes I claim a weekend afternoon. My family is very supportive of my passion! Once I get crafty, the kids are sure to do so as well. They will scrap my cast off photos or do something else in their craft center (also in the same room as my scrap space and dh's computer!). I don't go to many crops, but do go to a 4 day retreat once a year in November. I have recently made friends with a wonderful CM consultant and she does coffee crops twice a month. I have done a few of those. She doesn't care that I am not an avid CM scrapper. I do use a lot of CM tools.

Theshyone, sorry you have been so sick! Did they finally give you a diagnosis? I hope you are getting better and will be back with your family soon!

Elizabeth - I love that name - Lailani! Maybe I'm biased, though. My older daughter didn't go to my husband for the first year! With baby G she gets that way in the afternoon and evening. I try to enjoy the snuggles because she is a more independent spirit so I'll take it while I can - Just need to be more careful with my back! (at least I know a good PT!)

Shyone! I'm so sorry you've been in the hospital! I know what it is like to be so ill and you miss those mundane tasks that seemed so easy before. I was only ill for about a month, though. But I missed taking care of my kids the most. Just those little things, feeding, bathing, playing. Good luck with your P365.

Jennifer, the thing about adding a new baby is they ease you into it! A newborn sleeps so much, that you can adjust pretty quickly once you figure out it's okay to shower while the older kid is awake sometimes!

Welcome, Dawn, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jessica, Mamagidget!

Hi Jill and Jaimee and Renee!

I've got housework, kindermusik and scrapbooking today! I may try to steal my niece away after kindermusik - so maybe I'll have an extra kiddo! AND we have pinterest group tonight at church. I'm really looking forward to it! We're trying out some things we've been pinning and haven't tried yet. It's a new group so I'm excited to see how it works out.

Loni: thanks! My first DD held her daddy's hand and I swear never let go. It hurt bc I was working when she was a baby so DH had a lot more time with her after daycare. so now Lailani (Lilo nickname) is all about mommy. Um I'm not complaining. I probably do cuddle her too much, but I love every minute of it and I missed out on a lot with my first. She is VERY independent.

I will be back to read other post and say my hellos.

Ok read a little and oh my Misty.love your thought into life and will be using that from now on. Too blessed to be stressed! Loving it. Might make a door sign and hang it. Keep it up and look forward to more words of wisdom and chatter.

Jennifer: where in Houston. We just got back after a long summer there. Depending on where DH takes a job after grad school we might up in Houston or Alaska. I am originally from New York so living here in Oklahoma with no family was hard. I'm looking forward to Houston bc I have a ton of my dads family there and a friend from OK moved there and is building in the area we are looking at. You'll find tons of things to do there and hopefully you will meet some nice people.

Hello everyone! As far as how do I even with kids make time to scrap! Well now my kids are a little older and in school. I try to schedule errands and other appointments on same day so I can get it all taken care of the same day then the rest of the week is free. Once I get the girls off to school and DH to work each morning I usually spend an hour cleaning up then I try to get a little scrapping done or any other projects I am working on. I also usually get at least a little scrapping done on the weekends that we don't have a lot of activities planned. I also send my girls to bed around 7:30-8pm which leaves me about an hour to scrap while DH plays his PS3. But again my youngest is 8 almost 9 years old so we have pretty much got our routine worked out so I have a little free time.

I think my main problem with finding the time to scrap is that I have kids at very different stages of life! DD10 is a competitive dancer who dances 8+ hours a weeks. She also has 3 hours of homework each night. Some of which I cant even understand myself! Then there's DS5 who is ALL boy and full of energy. He requires lots of outside time and is in Karate one day week. And our littlest DD2 is very much a toddler who wants to play and have fun and never ever go to bed. LOL In March we will also have a newborn. Its full house and I love it but scrapbooking has gone way down on the priority list.

Last night I talked with my DH about this very post and he was all for me going away once a month to scrapbook with friends. As well as I loved the idea of taking one day a week during nap time to scrapbook. I realized that its what keeps me sane so the fact that I have let it slip so far down the list is not good or anyone. Happy Mommy is way more fun and pleasant then stressed out Mommy.

Thanks for all the tips! Tonight we have some family coming into town. Should be a fun week!!!

Im Sherri my DD is 12 and loves to scrap my son is 9 and had aspergers and hates textures so no scrapping. DH and I are together around 24 years. Live in a medium city in Alberta Canada

I went into hospital in July for a kidney stone. Next day had a cardiac arrest; was dead 10 minutes or more; cold blanket; life support; brain swelling etc; two days later another one. Moved by air ambulance to a hospital 3.5 hours from home. ICU for weeks; cardiac wars; had a ICD implanted and went home. A week later I was very infected; septic; organs shutting down. Back in home town ICU; then ward; then moved back to bigger hospital by ground ambulance. Had the ICD removed. More infection; had to have surgery site cleaned. A different infection had postponed the new ICD from going in Monday (yesterday).
The cardiac arrests were from a congenital condition called LONG-QT; never new I had it. My kids need to be DNA tested for it.
Now I am waiting for infections to go away; get my new ICD (only 5th in Canada to get this kind); not get another infection and go home!!!!!!!!!

You are all truely MANIC MOMS! I am Aimee from South Mississippi. I am orginally from St Louis and have lived in the deep south for over 15 years. I am a marriage and family therapist and work full time as an administrator at the local community health center. I have been married for 12+ years and have 2 kiddos (DD is 8 and DS is 5). Sometimes I am better at finding time to scrap than others. I do not have a dedicated space for scrapping so I get together with a group of ladies a couple times a month on a Friday night for some dedicated scrappy time. In between, I find it hard to scrap since everything is either spread out on the kitchen table/counter or all over the dining room table which drives me crazy since everyone who walks into our house sees it. I tend to Pea and Pin almost every day as well as persue blogs, etc for inspiration so I can be ready when I have the time. I do tend to be able to create some fun home decor stuff (currently have finished some fun Halloween projects) to fill by scrappy/crafty needs.

My son was moved from the Stepping Stone class today to full main stream grade 4. that's a big adjustment for him and with me hospitalized makes it huge!

On the other hand my Dd best friend (only friend) is moving to a different city. She is crushed.

Jill, I envy you that 4 day retreat! It sounds awesome. Since I have such a good space and cooperating hubby, though, I think I'd rather stay home and spend the $ on product. Seriously, if I had something like that though, I'd probably do it.

Sherri, WOW!! You are so lucky to be alive! I hope you get better soon so you can go home!

HI Aimee, I love your kids names! SO CUTE!

I'm giving my Silhouette a workout today. Cutting lots of little shapes to make cards this weekend.

Hello everyone. What does everyone have planned for this coming weekend?

I plan scrapping tomorrow and waiting for some more fun scrapping items to come in the mail. I am hoping to finish my moms album I've been working on using the perfect collection PDF from Shimelle. Only 7 more layouts to go so hoping I have enough time tomorrow to get it done. Today I think it's a great day to sit inside and read some books with the kids until dance later.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hello Manic Moms! I actually got to do a little scrapping last night after the girls went to bed. And now that I am done with my errands and grocery shopping and have cleaned the house a little I am going to try to do a little more scrapping. I do mean a little though because at 2 pm I have to be at my girls school for Student of the Month ceremony and reception.
This weekend DH has to work so not too much planned. But we are going to take the girls to the MS State Fair (more scrapping opportunities)!

Elizabeth, I hope to scrap this weekend.

I've got a bug and have been taking it easy the last couple of days. My mom (she lives next door) has been popping in to give me vitamins and help out a little. Hubby helped me clean this morning. So hopefully I'll scrap this weekend! And we'll be watching General Conference. Yay! haha, I really enjoy it. The kids just love it because we go to grandma's to watch church on TV. LOL.

Loni: lucky dog you (mom helping out) I hope you get to feeling better. Chick fil A soup always seems to boost me up feeling sick. Maybe mom can whip together a homemade batch. Either or take it easy and rest much. Hope you are to scrap a little here and there between feeling sick. How was the Pinterest group? I passed the idea along to one of the members, but haven't heard anything yet. Might need to start my own. If you have any details on how to get that started can you pm them. Thanks.

Stephanie: have fun at the fair! We had ours 2 weeks back and as always enjoyed it. Bought OA Midway collection to scrap all my years at the fair. Hoping to create a mini to showcase it all. And that's awesome you found time time to scrap. Been so wrapped into YouTube tutorials, shopping and knitting I haven't done much scrapping in a couple of days. Hoping to break that tomorrow. I am spent out for the month and my card needs a break- that is until Becky Higgins new products arrive.

Good luck with surgery Sherri!
I hope this surgery turns things around for you!

Elizabeth, are you starting PL!? I want to too. As soon as the kit I want comes out (hey its Oct maybe it is out) I'm going to order it. I'll send you a long pmail! I hope you aren't sorry you asked.

Anyone scrapping today?
I'm finally feeling much better. I thought I'd jump on the elliptical after I got the boys on the bus but I don't know if I'm feeling that much better! haha So, I'd be scrapping today, but I've got to join my Kindergartner on a field trip. (I think Friday will be my new scrap day. IDK, maybe I'll do Wed! Can't decide!)

Hey mommies! Misty? Do you want to do a weekly thread or what? I'm easy - just wouldn't be good at starting one every week, but with your help we could do it.

How is everyone today? Who else is tackling the weekend pile-up of laundry?

Hello! I am in deed doing laundry. Mainly because our youngest is sick. So even though my hubby did everything yesterday while I taught a class at my LSS all her bedding, our bedding and many of her Pj's need to be done all over again! Poor little pumpkin is napping now so that's what this Mama is gonna do too. I have a feeling I will be in for another long night.

I'm knee deep in laundry over here too. We spent Saturday evening bringing baby things down from the attic, putting the crib back together and moving a dresser and rocking chair back into the nursery. Then yesterday, I started going through all of DS's outgrown clothing (5 boxes and bins worth) to pull out all of the newborn and 0-3 month things so I can wash them. Needless to say, I now have 5 baskets of laundry waiting to be done. It's gonna be a long laundry day!

Other than that, I've been trying to squeeze in a few minutes to work on some Halloween decor I'm wanting to make. And lots of cleaning and organizing to get things ready for the new baby. The countdown is really on to get everything in order...17 more days!

Pebbles, when we first started the Manic Moms there were 3 or 4 of us due in June. We had our babies a day apart. I think it was the 9th, 10th and 11th and I know one more mommy was really close. My dd is 16 months this week! How exciting for you! Good luck.

I decided to only do 3 loads today. I'll catch up if I do 2 and 3 a day. I really don't want to fold and put away a pile as tall as me today!

Lol laundry still from yesterday. I keep taking breaks to scrapbook, girls, or Netflix. I am making my last mini album base and then I am off to embellish them and hopefully they turn out as good as they look in my head. Tomorrow is a no scrap day since I need to clean my house (almost done) and finish the loose ends on my moms scarf wrap and box it up to ship out Wednesday. Hope everyone is doing good and had a great weekend.

Hi, all!!! Im late checking in as the little people have been rather wild today...mix that in with laundry and errands and it all makes for a very MANIC day!!!

Hubby and I took the kids to the camp in North Mississippi on Friday to do a little bit of squirrel hunting and came in late Saturday night {as he had to work on Sunday...BOO!!!}. The drive up is just over two hours one way and we are always late to bed, early to rise. Yep, I think I could sleep for two days straight right now...lol!!! No time for that though.

We are off to a busy start this week as DS has a double-header tonight and DDs also have a game. I am going with my littlest guy on a fieldtrip to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow...SUPER EXCITED!!! This will be his first class trip and he is a tad excited also. DD#1 also has a Cross Country meet after school. Speaking of, CC...she just started training with the team a little over a month ago and quickly made her spot on the team as a very close 2nd place behind a Senior {DD is a freshman}. Well, she came in 1st place on Friday with a huge lead and her best time yet!!! I am so very proud of her as she trains as often as possible outside of school...persistance pays off!!!

Anyways...I hope everyone had a great weekend as well as a great start to the week!!!

Loni...we can keep the thread on a monthly basis if you'd like. I will pop in when time allows.

Okie dokie...gotta get ready to head to the ball field.

Happy day to all!!!

Hello everyone! Late checking in today but been a busy day. Once I got girls off to school had to do a little cleaning then off to run errands. Today is my DH's birthday so had to go pick up his cake and find his favorite ice cream. Our girls want to surprise him with cake and ice cream after dinner. Then headed back home to clean a little more (the never ending laundry) and to clean the floors. And now the girls are home so had to fix them a snack until dinner is ready, which I am getting ready to cook now.
