Hey ladies.... How's everyone been doing?
So I was thinking instead of an actual stash item how bout challenging ourselves to get more layouts done which in turn uses more stash.
I am going to try for 12 layouts this month which is way more than I do now.
The weather is getting colder & less outdoor activities....which to me means indoor scrapping LOL
I hope all is well & hope you guys are getting your scrap on! |

Hello! I would love to join you ladies. I sure need to freeze my spending. I actually had done great for a couple of years, but then i did a huge purge due to a move. Well, i moved 20 min away from an archivers! And in august i went to CKC. I have spent quite a few hundred dollars in the past 6 months and it is time to put on the brakes!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well . . . since I scrap chronologically and I just did the last of my 2001 photos, I need to get at least 12 layouts done this month! So, Jenn I'm in! Since you've put out a challenge, I'll try to post every time I get one done. Maybe it will help keep me motivated. I completed one yesterday. Woo hoo!
I've been able to stay frozen, so I am very proud of myself. <pats herself on the back>
Welcome, Bberry! As far as advice goes, the best I can give is to stay out of the stores & don't click on any threads here that mention product, lol. Jump on in the freezer w/us! |

I'm trying to decide if I want to continue to be frozen for another month. I did great for September and managed to stay frozen the whole time! I'm very proud of myself. I think for October I'm going to be semi-frozen...spend as little as possible, but not force myself to spend nothing at all. And that's mostly because I'm really hoping that someone here will find the Jenni Bowlin tab punch on clearance at their J's and pick one up for me! I want that punch so badly and it's nowhere to be found. |

Breitbarth - Frozen Peas are peas (members here) that have put a "spending freeze" on their scrapbooking purchases - trying to use of existing stash products instead of buying new things.

Thanks Boo,
I "should" belong to this group... but it will have to wait until after this weekend. Treating myself to a crop on Friday and will undoubtedly shop while I am there.
But, I DO like the idea. Do you set monthly goals and post your layouts? |

My goal was to stay frozen until November. However, 2 peas giving 10 percent off is just too much for me to pass up. Darn you 2 peas! You've done it again. Of course if I don't get around to the order in time, then frozen I will stay!

I'm moving to the back of this freezer. I've come upon too many great deals this summer. I bought over 2 feet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock for $25. Lots of it was Stampin UP too!!
But I digress....
I have too much stuff and haven't been making enough pages lately.
I did spend some money yesterday, but it was on things that I needed while I was making pages at Archiver's with a friend.
So, I am frozen until the 1st of November.
Thanks for letting me shiver with you all.

I have a couple of friends coming in tomorrow to go with me to CKC in Kansas City. So I'm allowing myself to get out of the freezer for a day. I honestly don't know if I will buy very much since I have most of my current pictures matched up with stuff I already own. But it's always fun to look! |

I am joining this month due to DH leaving his job and well, I really have too much stash laying around that I should use before I buy more.
Going to a weekend crop and I am going to try for 12 layouts, using up my stash. |

Besides buying a corner rounder to replace a broken one, I've been frozen for about a month and plan to stay that way for as long as possible. I have about 5 layouts that are almost complete - they need titles and journaling. I worked on those last month when my pc was being repaired. I need to get those done and work on one that's on my desk that I just started about a week ago. I've been going through a stressful time and haven't been up to scrapping but I'm thinking it might be therapeutic so I'm going to see what I can do today. Maybe it'll take my mind off of some things if I put on a movie and get scrapping.
Thanks for starting this thread, Jenn. It's nice to know that others are successfully shopping their stash. I want to make a greater effort to put all of my supplies to good use. I don't have nearly as much as some peas have but I have enough to keep me going for quite a while. |

Well, I had a great time at CKC last weekend shopping with my friends but I'm hereby officially frozen for the indefinite future. Now I just need to make time to use some of my new stuff! |

I really need to join your group as I have way too much stuff. It is unfortunate that HL is less than 5 minutes from where I work and when I'm bored over lunch I go and look around. Well, you all now how that turns out.
Anyway, I started a DD with tons of Christmas stuff I have, started on my own PL kit for next year, and used up a CTMH paper pack in the past 2 weeks. That equals 3 2-page layouts (do people still do those? seems like they are all only 1 pagers) and I made 3 cards with the scraps. I'm proud to say I'm throwing what little I have left away.
I do need to pick up adhesive but I'm sure that doesn't count, does it? And I'm making my annual trip to A's in a few weeks but so far I don't really think I need anything. |

Scurrying back in the freezer here. Man, the past month has melted me down quite a lot! ScrapFest first, then a trip through the town that has my favorite scrap store of all time, then a sb retreat with friends, then a CTMH order to get the Artiste cartridge resulted in me winning the mystery hostess prize....yep, back to the freezer I go. But meanwhile, I am happy to report I've scrapped probably 20 pages with stash, haven't broken into the "new stuff" at all, perhaps I can make space in my storage so the new stuff slides right in!
With Christmas coming, I am now solidly frozen until my next scrap retreat, which will be in February!
My def. of "frozen" is $20 per pay period, so $40/month. And my exceptions are adhesive and neutral cs (white, cream, gray, kraft, black) but after I go my stash organized, heck, I won't need either for years! |

I finished up those 5 unfinished layouts and spent an unreasonable amount of time staring that the one I started about a week or so ago. Not sure where to go with it at this point.
I'm still frozen and I thought I'd tell you a funny story about me trying to curb my desire for a new 6x6 paper pad and other supplies for a new mini. I was kind of moping around and not enjoying being frozen and then I started looking through my stash and found paper that I had totally forgotten about and totally love. I found supplies that are perfect for the mini I have in mind. It was practically like getting new paper! Lesson learned: know what's in your stash before you starting moping about being frozen. |

emilymae8 - I just saw the Jenni Bowlin tab punch for sale on e-bay.
(Sorry - not trying to tempt or break anyone here but she sounds like she wants it badly. I admire how you girls are doing and really need to consider doing the same myself. There is nothing I need to scrap for a long time to come.)

The members of this group set exceptions for things they need such as adhesives, albums, page protectors, etc. It's really up to the person how frozen she wants to be. We just try to limit our spending and use up our stash. |

I re-organized my embellishments this week. I am amazed how much I have amassed. Since I'm basically doing PL for my albums, I really don't need anything except photo slot page protectors and ATG tape.

That is so true Elsabelle!
I managed 11 layouts last weekend at a weekend-long crop. Used old BG Blush and Urban Couture and it felt great! |
