This week's question is about alpha stickers (well, chipboard alphas too)...

Is it okay to leave the centers in the middle of letters like "a", "p", etc. when using them on a project or does that make you want to say "no, no, no"?

Hi Lisa, seeing layouts with chipboard letters with centers in makes me crazy
I don't get it. It's not hard to remove the centers, do why ate they left in?
It looks like the person forgot or didn't know the centers come out IMHO

So, it makes me say 'no no no'

I've seen it done well, but I've never done it myself! It's one of those things that "other" people can pull off!

I like them left like that!! I don't do it too often, but I have done it. It can look cool. I do think that at first I didn't understand it all, but it grew on me some.

no, no, NO....

hate it, lol! I don't know why but it just drives me nuts. I haven't seen a layout that it looks good on but to be honest, I haven't gone out and looked for a good example either.

anyone care to link a good one for an example?

Depends on the reason for leaving them... I like the design of them like that sometimes! Here are a couple examples:

I love this one too:

I did on this layout and like how it looks. I've been scrapbooking a long time, so I'm always up for trying something new

It depends on the layout. I like the playful look of leaving the centers in, but for a more formal page (like a heritage page) I don't think that leaving them in would be as appropriate.

Thanks for the examples! I see what you're all saying about the design style and it depending..I do like the 'follow your heart' design, that's kinda cool.. though I was still sitting there thinking, 'i wonder what that would look like with the holes in the letters' lol... see can't help it.

I've done it a couple of times and have liked the way it turned out. I agree, it just depends on the layout and overall design (for me anyway). I like the examples you shared Jen!

Sometimes I leave them, sometimes I pop them out, and sometimes I fill them w pp or embellies.

no, no, no, I really don't like it! At my age, I'm lucky to even read the letter, much less trying to figure out what it's supposed to really be, since the center has not been removed. Love Penny
