I have a friend that I really like to scrapbook with. She is a sweetheart, and she's fun to be around. We usually attend 1 or 2 big crops a year. The problem is that I don't like her friends. Most of them are loud, unfriendly, and a bit obnoxious. One of them nearly bit my head off whenever I tried to make friendly conversation with her at the last crop. (I don't know why my friend is friends with them, but that is her choice.)
Unfortunately, whenever we sign up for crops, we are seated with them. I think she knows that I don't really like them, because she didn't request that we be seated with them at the last crop. I don't know how, but we were seated at their table anyway. I think they might have requested it. Anyway, I don't want to sit with them anymore. But I still want to attend the crops.
What's a girl to do? | |

Sounds like she understands your issue even though you haven't openly discussed it. I would talk about the elephant in the room. Next time you sign up for a crop, request that they ARE NOT at your table. i bet you wouldn't be the first to do that! Good luck | |

Make sure the organizer understands that you don't want to be seated with them even if the other group requests it. If you've been at the crops before, the organizer may not have realized you didn't want to be seated together. But, be prepared at a crop to do,some explaining on why you aren't seated together, because they may come over and ask.
Personally I don't get to go to many crops so that time is special to me, so I'd hate to have it wasted by being in an uncomfortable situation. If you need to, maybe sit away from your friend if she's sitting with the other group. Not sure how clique-y your crop is, so don't know how easy it is to move groups. | |
