Anyone know--Is there a way to print still shots from something airing on t.v.?

Or, if the show airs on a network's website? Is there a way to do this, or does anyone have any ideas?

I can take photos from the TV that look like I was right there. I use the 'available light' setting on my camera. Maybe you have something similar.

Hmmmm...I have a simple point and shoot type digital camera, I wonder if I have something. I'll look through the book.

If you can find the show online somewhere (network site, hulu, etc...) you can try pausing the show where you want the pic, then on your keyboard hit "print screen" button, go into something like word, photoshop, paint...and hit "paste" and then you can crop out the stuff on your computer screen until you are left with the "picture" you want.

You can also try searching for "screencaps" of the episode of the show you want. Often, fans will post screen captures of episodes for other fans online to use for various purposes (as reference images for fan-art and similar). You may not get exactly the moment you want, but it's a good, low-effort option.

Oh, and if you want to take a screen capture yourself from an online episode, put it in full-screen and then cap it! That way there's nothing to crop out.

Thank you guys so much for the suggestions!!! I have my tv set to record. I'm hoping to be able to do something with that or, even better, being able to get some good shots online I guess.

I hope I can get some good shots and know what to do with them. If not, I might be back here begging for help, lol.

Try to take your camera off the auto setting and turn off the auto flash. Maybe try one of your macro settings.

I have a higher end point and shoot, and I sent a photo I took of the parade on TV to Macy's and they thought I had been there!

I have taken pictures straight from the TV with my regular p&s, and then cropped out any sections I don't want. They were not clear as day, but defintely fairly decent.

Thanks for all your suggestions, but it ended up being a no-go.

My dh was interviewed yesterday and the segment was supposed to air on the NBS Nightly News with Brian Williams today. He even got a call from NBC in New York today to ask him a couple more questions, and they confirmed it was going to be on.

So, I call everyone I know, tell them to tune in, and we gather around the t.v. and it didn't air. We were bummed.

I wanted to capture some pictures of him, and then make a 12x12 frame for his office, his company, etc.
