Sorry if this has already been answered ... couldn't find the post.

I remember reading that Shimelle was doing a kit for her Journal Your Christmas class. Do we know approximately when it will go on sale and for how much? Does it include an album?

Trying to decide if I should order some Christmas goodies or wait and see what her kit looks like (the SC one was just a bit too $$$ for me).

Thanks, peas!

I remember it just being for UK customers. I could be wrong. Maybe 2Peas will offer something. I still haven't decided how I want to handle the whole Christmas thing. Some years I am just glad when it is 2 Jan .

Yea, she said there would be a 2Ps kit, but didn't indicate date. I looked back at that message last week, because I was having the same order/wait to order dilemma. I went ahead and ordered my cart. I'll watch for the kit in the near future and if I absolutely want the kit, I'll order it, too .

Last year there was a link to what she was going to use and you could pick and chose what you wanted from it and did not have to buy a whole kit. I figure it will work like that again this year but I could be wrong. I also figure that it will include items that will work for many seasons not just Christmas like it did last year and contain items that are not just Christmasy.

I vaguely recall from the emails about the kit that it would be shipped to uk customers on 1 November and be available as separate items on 2peas from that date for overseas.

To answer the initial question as well - there is not going to be an album in the kit this year.

For Peas who have taken this class (or ANY Christmas class) before, could you explain the general idea behind it?

Are you essentially doing a "project life" kind of idea, but each day of December - or whenever you choose to start? A sort of day by day diary of the Season's activities, or is it more about documenting memories of Christmas' past, or a combo.

I'm always tempted to take something like this (since I think it included scrapping/writing prompts). However, I'm disabled and quite limited in my physical activities, so a daily "happenings" approach (PL style) would likely end up being seriously boring, even depressing!

If it were more of a way to record/scrap a wide range of Christmas memories past and present, traditions, activities, recipes, etc - that WOULD be worthwhile to me.

Anyone care to share how they approach Shimelle's class? I'm open to looking into other class suggestions as well.

(OP, I'm not intending to highjack your thread.)

Nice thing about Shimelle's classes is there is not a right or wrong way to do them and they are available forever. You can use the prompts for something that you are doing now or something from your past. It can be as big or small as you want it, with or without pictures. Really it is a fun class, and even though I have never finished one I have loved reading what other people are doing or remembering through out the holiday season. She takes it from Dec 1-Jan 6th or 12th night. Join I do not think you will regret it.

3kidmama--I have done Shimelle's Journal Your Christmas for four years and have completed every album. I think her class is just what you are looking for. Shimelle gives you prompts to think about for each day (and a lot more too) and you can look at the prompts anyway you wish. I have pages about Christmas from my childhood, recipes, songs, Christmas lists from my children, and things happening right now. So far I haven't run out of things to put in my album, and I started when my kids were in college! This was the first online scrapbooking class I ever took, and it is wonderful. Also, once you sign up you get access every year after.
Can you tell I love Shimelle's classes!

Thanks Amblet and 4corners! That is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I think this actually might be a great class for me! I do remember that Shimelle gives you access to previous years info, so that would be even more prompts and ideas to glean from right?

I love the idea of being able to see other scrappers memories etc. I think I'll jump in and that the class this year! I've been so tempted before but always hesitated thinking it wouldn't work for me since I'm so "odd".

Thanks for sharing your perspective, Ladies!

the kit I'm using this December will be available here for shipping to anywhere- no preorder needed. I took preorders this summer for kits going to UK addresses, but of course Two Peas can ship anywhere you would like.

The items for the kit are arriving currently and as soon as they are all in stock, then the kit will be available for immediate order and shipment. the kit does not include an album so you are able to use it in any format you would like - including purchasing an album separately, making your own or using one you have in your stash already. There will also be an option for purchasing just parts of the kit if you prefer.

As for the class itself, you can sign up any time and have access to all previous years and participate as many years as you would like. (the class was originally created to give the option of daily entries or making a few entries each year to build an album over the course of several Christmases.) all the topics can be interpreted in many ways so you can opt to write about your present or past - my albums all include a mix, along with some notes for Christmas future.

If I can help with anything else, please let me know.
