I look through all my PP and there are days where I think I should just get rid of it all (either donate or sell)
THen there are days I look at all my PP and think right, lets just scrap with it, reduce the pile and get on with it
Then there are days I look at all my PP and think I have nothing to scrap with, how can I make a decent layout with all this dumb PP I have
Then there are days where I look at all my PP and I really love the majority of PP I have but it's soooooo pretty I don't want to use it

Does anyone else have days like this?

Yep. Just use it. Seeing that paper in albums will make you smile for years to come. Much more than if you leave it a pile unused.

So I just donated a TON of pp for that very reason and have to say I feel so much more excited to create as a result!

Set a time frame. If it's paper you haven't touched in 2 years or whatever you are comfortable with and donate it. I have purged before and it felt great to do it.

Or sometimes I use old PP I don't care for any more and make envelopes with them. If you're a card maker this could use up a bunch.

Oh yeah! Just yesterday I was proud of myself for using some real old Karen Foster, and thinking I had enough paper to last me for years. Not 10 minutes later, I was thinking of the papers I want to get.

I've been known to get bored with pp that I just loved yesterday. Sometimes I feel like I'm using all the same colors all the time because I buy the DCWV stacks and their all matchy-matchy.

But when I do love my pp, I use it like crazy. I just crank out layout after layout.

I vote use it all. I definitely wouldn't throw it all away. Maybe just keep using your very favorites first and when you get down to a pile that you still feel "meh" about, donate/toss that, and get new things you love.

Yep - all the time. Sometimes I want to toss it all and other days I go ' ooh I can use that'
Recently I've been used the white side of old pp (remember those days Pre-double sided) for different projects when I need white paper.

That is my everyday dilemma..........AHHH.
Nothing works with the photos, or I can't use the paper because then it is gone...OR..Why did I buy all this ugly paper to begin with..depending on my mood.

If you have stuff you are consistently "don't like" and consistently want to get rid of, then get rid of just that. Purgeing doesn't have to be an all or not at all thing.

Stuff you have that sometimes you love and sometimes you don't, keep that. Use it when you are in a "love it" state of mind.

Then consider if you really enjoy paper crafts, or if the real fun for you is in shopping.

Being a bit of a paper addict I often feel like this and am torn between purging or keeping what I have or wanting to buy more as nothing I have will work!

One thing I have found works for me when I feel that I need to purge is to do just that but put the stuff I think I no longer want away, out of sight. I then set a reminder to myself for 2-3 months ahead to pull it out. At that point I find it motivates me to scrap as I have all this 'new' and totally forgotten about paper that I suddenly like again.

I challenge you to participate in the Organize Your Stuff Challenge, which is on Week 5 (scraps) right now, but you can go back to Week 4, where if you read the original blog, the challenge is to get rid of at least 10 of your papers. Do it!

I am kind of a paper hoarder, so I thought getting rid of 10 perfectly good papers would be kind of hard for me. But I went through them a few days ago seeing if I could find 10 I could part with. And I realized there were some papers I had been holding onto for three years or more, and never had found a use for. I decided those were best candidates for getting rid of, and I ended up getting rid of about 25. Yay me!

I didn't completely throw them out yet though. They're in a bag, and when I find someone who might like a bag of colored papers (read preschool or elementary teacher) I will give them to her. But I've already pulled one large scrap out of that bag and made a card with it.

Thank you ladies

I spent the weekend scrapping at home, and every time I did a layout and went through my PP, I pulled out a couple of sheets, that I KNEW I would never use, and put them in a baggie. Over the weekend I pulled out about 30 sheets that came in the catergory of 'crap/yuk/what was I thinking' and put them in the baggie.

I have used more PP on a layout than I normally use - putting that down to watching the videos by mercytiara, and trying to shop my stash, and trying something different.

Still tempting to donate it all and start all over again.....

My husband was away all weekend so I camped out in my scraproom with no interruptions!

The best part was that I used up some really ugly paper & was happy with the resulting layout!
I also fill 2 pizza boxes with old-probably-wont-use paper. I figure if I don't open the boxes before Christmas - they're history!

Note to Jamey, I live in Auckland too!
