I prefer a really plain leather look. I have some beautiful albums that I bought years ago. I cant remember if Anthology was the name of the company or the style. They were leather and looked like a box, they closed up tight which is important to me and you could use any type of inserts. I cant find them anywhere and everything else I see is very cheap. As someone who has been sbing for a long time, believe me it you buy cheap materials, they do not last. All of my orginal albums are falling apart. Thanks for any help

I have a few of those too ( love how they keep dust out!) but I'm pretty sure they don't make those particular ones anymore - but I think American Crafts or Pebbles did have something similar - not sure if they still do?

The We R Memory Keepers faux leather 3 ring binders are what most if us use now - great quality and appearance and the 3 ring style allows many different types of pages.

If you are looking for high quality I can recommend a company called "Exposures". I've been a very satisfied customer for over 22 years-they sell archival photo storage, frames and beautiful albums. A few years ago they started selling 12x12 scrapbooks too.

Their website is www.exposuresonline.com Their selection of 12x12 albums has decreased over the last few years, but from what they sell now I think the "Shelbourne" 12x12 album might be what you are looking for. They offer it in 3 ring, 6 colors and it's covered in faux leather-but it's very high quality-I have the post bound version and can't tell the difference. The price for the extra capacity one is $34.00 and the regular is $29.00.

They offer a number of different 12x12 page protectors including one that folds out so you'd have a single 12x12 on the left side and then a double page layout on the right. Haven't used it as I don't use 3 ring but it's a cool option.
