What's the big deal on bent cardstock corners?

I totally agree with getting full value for the money we spend - that is assumed when we purchase a product. BUT - I have ordered many many times from Two Peas and have never had a bend or a tear in paper. It is most often packed in a plastic sleeve with a cardboard reinforcement and then taped up to fit.

The big deal is I paid for it and it should come to me in great condition... not good condition... this isn't a yard sale

It probably shouldn't be a big deal to me since my corners end up bent one way or another, anyway - but I'm hard-wired "no bent corners" or opened packaging of any sort unless its marked down 70% - then, its ok

My paper nearly always arrived bent and dinged up at the corners. I have no idea why.

I have only recently started shopping online again for scrapbooking supplies after taking a break for a few years. I don't recall having paper arriving bent in the corners back then. I wondered if the postal handlers are less careful with packages now then they were then.

I've never complained or mentioned bent corners before. I would prefer that my paper arrive with neat, crisp corners, but so far the damage has been only slight and I find I can usually straighten the kinks out with a little finger ironing.

I wish there was a better way to package paper that was cost effective.

I haven't ordered paper from 2peas recently, just stamps, inks, etc. so I can't comment on the increase in bent corners. But don't they still put the paper on a cardboard 12x12 square and then into a plastic bag? This into a pizzabox? I can imagine paper getting bent without the cardboard re-inforcing...

Otherwise it must be happening in the warehouse while packing and, in that case, someone needs to train the packers to pack paper correctly.

Personally I don't have a problem with a little fold( less than say 1cm) but a 3" crease would upset me too. It is good that 2peas does seem to have taken notice - some posters received discount coupons on another thread- and hopefully they will resolve the problem quickly.

For some reason my UPS guy puts my boxes on their sides when he leaves them. That's another pet peeve of mine because it causes the items to shift.

I agree with others I refuse to buy paper that is bent in the store so I certainly don't want bent paper that I order.

I want my corners to be unbent if I am paying full price, but I will buy bent paper if it is heavily discounted. Because I am not detail oriented and I really don't care. So if I can get a deal I will take it.

I wanted a piece of paper from an online seller. The shipping was $5, the paper was $1. So I asked them to fold the paper and put it in an envelope. They were surprised but agreed. So I got my paper for a price I was willing to pay, and the fold did not bother me.

My choice is to not take it personally - people have opinions. Particularly people here.-Peabay 12/29/11

Here's the thing about the "it's only paper" argument....in my mind, it is not only paper. The money I paid for that paper represents the hard work of my husband; the time he spends away from our family and the missed birthdays/anniversaries/school events (he is a physician and is "on call" often). Everything I purchase I filter through this prism of hard work/sacrifice. I try to help my children learn this too; it's so easy to spend money without remembering what it takes to EARN that money. Also, when you buy ONE thing it also means you cannot now buy ANOTHER...so, I want the things I buy to be worth every penny I pay for them! When a product arrives damaged or in a condition other than what was represented when I bought it, I am not pleased.

I am well aware of the twopeas return/damaged goods policy; that is why I choose not to shop here very often.

When I buy paper here, it' always come sandwiched between 2 12x12 cardboard pieces, and then put in a baggie and then taped together. Doesn't everyone's paper get shipped to them like that?

They also put alphabet sticker sheets, 12x12 element sticker sheets, etc. in there.

I'm sorry people have had problems from here, but fortunately I haven't.

And, yes, I'd be annoyed if I ordered paper and it came damaged. Scrapping is using paper, and when it's crinkled, bent, or such, it's damaged IMHO, and I should have to figure out how to work around it.

Okay here's my take.. I get it, it is only paper, I don't really get to shook up about it. I don't go out of my way to buy bent paper, I pick my paper that is the best. If I get home and it is a little bent (talking about the corners), I don't think twice about it. If I got some in the mail and it is just a little bent in the corner, eh I don't sweat it. If it is really noticable yeah I would say something. I guess my opinion is I totally understand that we don't want bent up corners.. I know that. But (at least for my layouts) it really doesn't bother me all that much if it is not that noticable. Which I find funny cause I am the type A person when it comes to my pages...I can work forever and ever making a page look just right.

Now once I dropped a big batch of paper in the snow at a retreat, and I spent my evening back at home trying to iron it all out.. now that bothered me to NO end. LOL

I think the main thing here -- or at least on the other thread -- is that bent corners aren't a rarity in 2Peas orders, that it's happening more and more frequently.

Yes, that is how mine is packed. Well, just one cardboard pc. But like-sized boxed embellies are banded together. The mists are usually in a sealed baggie. This past order I got some of those wonderful itty bitty bags and they were all together in a sealed baggie outside of the sealed 12X12 paper full plastic bag.

I have only had one time where I noticed the corners bent on any of my orders and I have had quite a few lately. My issue has just been something saying it was in stock and then once order was placed the shipping inv showing me a credit of same item. I have been happy with any CS back and forth I have had. I guess I just don't get all up in arms over my corners. I just do a slight bend back and everything is ok. I have had no creases though. That might elicit a different reaction.

I just placed my first order yesterday and I am praying that I get everything and that the paper is undamaged. I hate bent corners also. If I want then that way I will do it myself.

It bothers me!!!! A lot! My last order had 30 pages bent. When I pay for it, and anxiously await it to be delivered, I want them perfect, not bent. I wouldn't buy clothes with a little rip in them!

(insert thought bubble)

I wonder how many of the "Anti-Bent Corner Coalition" (ABCC) are actually bending the corners of the papers as they paw through the racks to find the unbent corner paper????

(Referring to paper bought in a store and not items shipped)
