I have been seeing a lot of pictures lately printed on metallic paper, including my granddaughters new graduation pictures .... they are a beautiful look.
My question is .... can you buy this metallic photo paper and print at home? I have an HP Photosmart printer that I am very happy with how it prints my matte and glossy prints.
If you can buy metallic photo paper, would you let me know where I can find it?
Also, can a metallic photo be scanned successfully?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

It was done by Persnickety Prints, so if you can't print at home, I know for sure they can do it.

Postal pics also can print iPhone pics on sheets of aluminum. Pretty cool.

Can someone post a picture or a link? I don't know what this is, but I'm curious.

|Posted: 10/10/2012 11:14:30 AM|I found metallic paper at B&H Photo and see that it is the #1 online retailer listed by Consumer Reports this month so I am going to order it and give it a try. It's spendy so I hope it works
I'm still hoping someone sees the post and has tried it and will give me their outcome.
I'm going to go check out postal pics and Mpix to see what they offer if it doesn't work for me.
scraptrinkets, a link wouldn't do it justice, but just Google metallic prints and you will be able to find them. You have to see one in person to "fall in love" with the look, I think.
Also, I'm still wondering about trying to scan a metallic print.

Good luck with your printing project!
If you decide to "outsource" it to a lab though, I'd recommend FinerWorks. They have lab prints on Kodak Metallic paper, but they also do inkjet metallic prints which are absolutely stunning. As opposed to a super glossy/metallic surface, they are more reminiscent of metallic without needing a bunch of gloss to give it its reflective property (I hope that makes sense...lol) I just love inkjet metallic, though.
