On the other forum, there is much complaining about previous choices of adhesive either not sticking or leaving a greasy residue. Tombow seems to be leading up the complaints. What are you using that is effective?

|Posted: 10/10/2012 1:29:52 PM|I've been using Tombow for at least a few years and I haven't noticed anything falling off pages when I look through my albums. Then again, I use A LOT of adhesive. I don't just dot it around, I stream it around all edges, maybe that's why I haven't experienced that?

I used CM's tape runner for over a decade and recently changed to an ATG. My very first page that I made in 1996 is still good with nothing falling off, even though it has never been in an album/page protector. That page just kind of floats around in my stash.
I use the ATG now since it is so much cheaper and has great long term reviews. I still use the CM tape runner for small pieces.

I use ATG for most things. But I have been searching for a smaller tape runner for small pieces and cards.
I liked the PLUS adhesive pen...but the refills have been hit or miss in terms of quality. The initial glue applicator is great, and the adhesive is nice and strong.
Based on recommendations online I just bought the Scotch dot roller...it arrived today and I played with it a bit...I like it. The little flip lid is annoying, will probably remove mine, but the glue seems strong. Will have to check back on a few months to see if things are still holding. The scotch dot roller is expensive in the 7 dollar range, but there are deals to be found online. I got a good deal on a 4 pack.

I love my Tombow! When I designed for scrapbook stores, they loved this adhesive because it does not give up it's stick! That being said, you need to be precise in application [easy when you use the fine tip side of the bottle] because it retains it stickiness. I've never had an element fall off my pages when using this glue.

I've used the Herma adhesives for years-since the 1980's when we used them in the photo studio I worked in to assemble wedding albums. So far nothing has fallen off of my pages. They are still made in Germany. I use both the permanent and the removable and neither one has left me with a problem. Recently though they redesigned the plastic holder for the dots (the ones I use) and from what I hear from the Peas here it's very uncomfortable. Might be worth a try though?

All the stuff I glued with Tombow and dotto fell off.
Scrapper adhesive and CM are supposed to be the same and those too are awesome!
But once I bought the ATG, it's all I use.

here's my answer to your last post:
i have two adhesives i absolutely can live without because they are good and realiable:
-Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive (in the bottle)
-Beacon Fabri-Tac Permanent Adhesive (clear in a bottle)
i use these glues on all dimensional items. the fabri-tac is especially good on any non-paper items. for paper i use the scotch.
i use the Glossy Accents too but no so much anymore since some dimensional items don't grip as well to glossy surfaces after the glossy accents dried.
if i have to adhere a entire piece of larger size paper onto a flat surface, i like to use my Xryon 1250 because it does not cause the paper to bubble, buckle, or lump up unevenly.
i have given up entirely on using glue dot, glue line, glue strips, etc.
|Posted: 10/10/2012 5:50:02 PM|"My Stik" for a smaller tape runner. super great hold and my LSS sells it! Have had bad luck with Tombow.
ATG for bigger jobs.
Scotch Quick Dry-wet glue
Ranger Claudine Hellmuth Multi-medium is a great wet glue as well.
Zig 2-way are great (all tip sizes) for die cuts...especially small ones.
Xyron 150 for small die cuts too.
Elmers Craft Bond spray adhesive-large pieces of pp on something 3D
Tombow Mono Multi-wet glue...has a small tip so i can apply accurately.
Scotch tape runner as well-easy to get refills at Target. (The blue dispenser)
So, as most of us I have an adhesive for every need! Aren't you sorry you asked!

For wet glue I love Scotch Quick Dry adhesive. For everything else I either use my pink ATG or Scor Tape.
