Thank you so much.

The Girls' Fund is such an amazing cause to me. For years I worked with a the kids at school to raise funds and supplies for another popular charity here and when I started researching to be able to present some points in a school assembly, I became so upset. There was so much behind the scenes that just didn't seem right to me. A few years later I started looking for something that would live up to that idea of actually helping without making people uproot their families, change their beliefs or any of the other stuff that had shocked me. When someone from Plan got in touch, I asked to meet in person and told them I would have a million questions. They had no problem with this and we talked for ages. They help in the very best way. Families stay together and learn together and just everything in their ethos made me happy to support them and this particular drive for girls. (They have other campaigns that help boys and adults too. I feel there are so many good causes in the world we have to choose the ones nearest and dearest to our hearts in order to make a difference, so the girls' fund is that particular choice for me.)

Anyway, YES: you can sign up for a class (it's all but two of the classes hosted on my site - and all the links are in the post) and the full class fee will go to The Girls' Fund. OR you can get the new video that is ONLY available through this fundraiser by making a donation of any price - you decide what you want to give.

My longer term goal is to go help in person and teach in a school like this. I did a little tiny bit of helping when we were in Asia and my heart tells me every day that I am not done with that part of my life. One day. And for now, I will help any way I can from here.

Thank you so much for your support! (And for not laughing too much at what an emotional sap I can be.)

Thanks for the heads up on this! I just donated - wish I could do more!

One weird thing, though - after sending payment, I clicked the link to return to Shimelle's blog, and got a page that just said "Nice try."

Me too. What does that mean.

Anyway I donated. Although I can't afford a lot I hope a lot of small amounts add up to a large donation amount shimelle.

I'm sorry some of you got the 'nice try' message - it's a server error but it does not indicate a any problem with your donation! (It rather indicates there were multiple people donating at the very same moment, and that's an awesome thing though I wish it didn't give you that weird error note!)

Thank you so much for all your support. There are still a few hours to join in or grab the video if you would like. Please don't worry about small donations at all: it certainly adds up! If spare change didn't make a difference in the world, we'd never see a bell-ringer at Christmas, right?

Thanks! I first hesitated to donate because I don't have much to spare on a meager scholarship, and surviving mainly on my husband's income. But then I realized that all contributions add up.

AND I just convinced my DH that Shimelle's new Remix class is very useful and valuable, so he agreed to cover the fee! Wohooo! I'm in!

Proof that every little bit adds up?

We raised... £4269.15.
That works out to $6861.97 in dollars.

I am SO happy right now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

That's proof of the power of the peas I donated and decided that it was also a good time to go ahead and get pretty paper party because I was on the fence since I just signed up for the remix class. But I just started taking my lunch to work to feed more of my habit I mean spend less money and less calories

It was a bit of an empty bank account day for me too so I couldnt afford to donate much, but I really wanted to contribute something, and hearing how it all adds up is so lovely, I am so glad that all of us gave at least a bit, even though I am sure we all wish we could have given a really big donation, at least all those little bits added up. Makes me happy to support such a great cause.
