Have fun at your crop and so very glad you're ok! I have not seen very much news since Sandy "stopped" in to visit you guys but what few pictures I've seen were quite devastating

My husband said it was him or scrapbooking... so I took pictures of him packing and made the cutest page ever!

I got a pile of scrapbook supplies for my husband. It was the best trade I ever made!

Hi Laura
How was your week? We've had a wild weather week, nothing like on the East Coast of course, but we felt some of remnants of Sandy. Lots of rain, strong winds and cold, we haven't been out of the 40's all week. Some of the waves on Lake Michigan were over 15 feet, I put some pictures on my Michigan board on Pinterest if you're interested.
I like lots of different crafts too. I used to do a lot of cross stitch, then stopped for a while and have recently started again. Right now I'm working on a couple of Christmas stockings, I'm hoping to get them done by Christmas but it might come right down to the wire. I like papercrafts, especially making cards. I like to knit, but can only do basic things like scarves and dishclothes. Someday I hope to tackle an afghan. I have always wanted to try quilting. I am horrible at decorative painting, my hand starts to shake as soon as I pick up a brush. There are just so many crafts to do and not anywhere near enough time to do them. I keep threatening my husband that I'm going to quit working, lock myself in our guest room and knit things for cats. He doesn't seem to believe me.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Mary

Wow - this has been a rough week and I'm so thankful it's Friday! I'm making a day trip with my sister tomorrow to Quilt Festival and I can't wait to get away...

I just started to follow you on Pinterest and found the photos of Lake Michigan fascinating. Very impressive!

I would love to learn how to knit and crochet - I've tried and found that I'm not very good at it. Love knitted/crocheted dishclothes and I keep trying to encourage my DD to learn to make them for me.

Off to an early bedtime so I'm up early tomorrow! I'll pop back in later in the weekend. Happy days to you

Hi Becky!! I did have a good time at the crop. It was an adventure getting there and back, however. There were NO rental cars in all of NYC (seriously, we called) so we ended up taking the train part way and getting a car out of town. On the return trip we waited 2 hours in a gas line to fill up, just as they ran out of gas. Fortunately I got enough to get back home.

We missed half the crop, but I still got 2 double layouts and part of a mini album done. I had a great time!

Are you getting any scrappy things done this week?

Hi Janet! I'm pretty caught up on all my scrappy things but the Altrusa is having a bazaar in a couple weeks that I'm going to sell a lot of my craft stuff I've made that is just sitting around gathering dust so I've been getting price tags made and things marked. I will probably spend this evening and tomorrow getting my 12 Days of Christmas stuff made though and then I am totally caught up on every swap I'm in for the year

I saw the news about the rationing of gas in parts of the NE. That would never be a good thing for me as I live 50 miles from where I work and I go through a lot of fuel. We have no train/bus/transportation around here except our own vehicles. I'm glad to hear that you didn't sustain any damage and you are safe!!

Please let me know what your Christmas scrapbook collection wishes are as I am about done shopping but still need this one!! Thanks and hope you have a better week!!!

ETA: what kind of books do you like to read?? Any particular scrap/crafty magazines you like (or don't like)?

My husband said it was him or scrapbooking... so I took pictures of him packing and made the cutest page ever!

I am almost done, do we need to wait to send or can we send out early? My business is headed into the busy season and I would like to finish up my swaps soon. Of course I can hang onto it for a little while if need be.

Hi Shilo,

I have a few questions for you and will post them tomorrow. Had a dye-contrast brain MRI & side affects of med given to keep me relaxed still in my system and making me all sorts of weird. Do not like it.

Weather has been weird this year, even had some snow - yuck.

My box went out today, as it has a little something for my SS for Thanksgiving - I just had to buy it for her, so I sent early and told her to unwrap it when it gets there. It was tough getting every thing in that box, but I did it.

Hi Laura
How's your weekend going? I went to my favorite store in the whole state of Michigan today and found a couple of things for you. I knew I would though, the store is great. It's full of everything, vintage, furniture, crafts, books, and some just plain old weird junk. I love it and can spend hours there when I go just looking at everything. It's one of the places that you have to walk through several times when you're there because you miss things the first time through. Anyway, I hope you like the things I'm finding for you as much as I do.

Hi Becky--a few questions:

Do you drink coffee/tea/cocoa? Do you only eat sugar-free candy or only certain kinds? Any books/magazines etc. that you want? Do you like puzzle books?

Hi Mary

Happy Monday! The weekend went by so quickly.... I just can't believe how fast the holidays are approaching. Shopping sounds wonderful and your shop sounds just like a place I would like. I have a couple fun places like that as well and it's true - no matter how many times I stroll through, I always see something new. (I can't imagine how the shopkeepers keep track of it all!)

We had a cool front blow through in the middle of the night. It's a beautiful day today and I love the cool breeze... just wish I could stay home and open all the windows.

Any special books or magazines on your wish list? Have you seen anything lately that's caught your eye? I think I might be catching the holiday bug and can't wait to really get started. I've got to decorate early this year as our plans for November and early December are really packed.

I'll check in again soon - popped home for lunch and it's almost time to head back.

Hi Laura,
I know, the weekends go way too fast. We had a beautiful weekend, temps in the 70's and sunny, perfect to finish raking the leaves out of our yard. This morning when I went to work the temperature thingie in my car said it was 45 degrees, when I left work it didn't have a temperature, it just said ICE. By the time I got home it read 35 degrees, there was no ice, but they are predicting some possible light snow tonight. Yuck, I'm just not ready yet.
As for books or magazines I can't think of anything specific. Maybe a cookbook with some of your local recipes or something about altered art. I've been wanting to do some altered art, but I'm not really sure how to start.
How about you? Any special books or CD's? You mentioned that you love coffee. Do you like it dark roast, light roast, French roast or maybe flavored? Do you like Starbucks? Is there anything you would like that your kids would also enjoy? I know I'm supposed to spoil you but it's fun to include the kids too. I know your son is into soccer, anything else he likes and what about your daughter? It seems like there might be quite a lot of room left in my box.

Hi Janet,
I love cocoa and mochas (not hot tea though). I do eat candy with sugar although I'm just trying to stay on my diet LOL. yeah, I picked the wrong time of year to do this! (22# down and lots more to go though!!!) I love peppermint bark, mounds or pretty much anything with coconut, tootsie rolls, Peppermint Patties, yeah, I love chocolate but mostly milk chocolate and not so much on the dark chocolate, esp. if it's bitter. I will get that "bitter beer" face LOL
I love papercrafting types of magazines or card making magazines, but not too much on the scrapbooking types. I like puzzle books sometimes, but havent' figured out how to do soduko yet. I love to read and am coveting the Debbie Macomber newest Christmas angel book she just put out. I have a Nook (B&N) but not a kindle. HTH

Hope you have a great week! I am just about done with your shopping. Just waiting for a few things to show up in the mail/UPS as I had to order some stuff Just have to get everything together, wrapped and it will be postal! Probably sooner than the due date but will keep ya posted. Oh yeah, can you PM me your address. It wasn't included in the survey. Thanks!!

Hi Shilo,

I keep posting to you on the DD thread, my bad. I think we are both knee-deep organizing outgoing swaps, I know I sure am. Smh at the tardiness as of late.

I'm heading to a LSS while out and about today so are there any other Christmas lines you have your eyes on? Although the simple stories is tooo cute not to pass up lol. Any other must-haves that are on your wishlist? This little elf is ready to shop till I drop.

I have your candy dish filled and wrapped, my first officially wrapped gift if the season lol.

Any plans this weekend that don't contain twinchies or DD's. ;$

So Sorry - I kept meaning to respond back to you on those threads - but your right I am so consumed by those swaps I keep forgetting.

So here we go - I also love Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage, MME lost & found Christmas, Echo Park Winter Wishes, any of them would be so fun!

I would love a red ink pad just one of those small ones like in Joann's dollar section - seems I am always wishing I had one, but then never take the time to buy one.

How about you, what lines did you like? Also what size on yoga pants? I picked up some fun things already, can't seem to find a cute candy dish though...I want to go check out this antique store thats a couple towns over this weekend with DH and hope to find something there.

Roxie- my box came. I love it. The candy dish is great, the paper is fabulous, and my girls are excited about using the cookie cutters. I can't wait to open everything else. I've been picking things up here and there, but I still have a couple more things to get.

Happy Thanksgiving Week to all our Whimsy Swappers!

A special hello to Mary!

Crazy week here again! We had our big Saturday visit day at the university yesterday and I am so relieved that it's done... now we have some fun travels planned for this week and so I won't have much computer time.

I've been working on your box of goodness and am looking forward to including any new things you might think of over the holiday! As for me, I love coffee (and Starbucks too!) We have one right outside my office and I have to seriously limit myself! Really I like any coffee... I'm finding that I'm choosing more dark roasts and nutty flavors (versus the sweet stuff). My son is really getting in Legos and Ninjago lately and honestly is always just happy with surprises. My daughter is really into journalling so fun pens or composition books make her happy.

Well, I'd better get back to packing... I'll check in again in between adventures.

Have a blessed holiday!

Hi Shilo!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. Any special plans? We are low-key except for a swearing in - hope that is correct - for our new city Mayor who also happens to be my husband's bestie from childhood and now. Thrilled of our friend's achievements as well as the campaign finally being over.

I am getting back to solids myself, TMI but Jaxson & myself had food poisoning a few days ago. Boy was that ever fun. It was just us the next day while being in the thick of it, hopefully never again.

I have most of your packages wrapped and ready to go for you. There is something about beautifully wrapped gifts that I just love to have and stare at.

Have you got to use your leg stamp yet? LOL I came across the leg lamp (without the shade) Don got last year while unpacking the decorations. I left it in the box...maybe I will find a lampshade one of these years and set it up for him. I've never quite enjoyed the movie but I bought one for him too when I ordered yours. So I have a feeling I will have to watch it this year...probably on Christmas day as he won't receive it until then. Oy... lol

I'm off to babysit Hailee today while my dd takes her nursing finals. Hope you have a great day!

My husband said it was him or scrapbooking... so I took pictures of him packing and made the cutest page ever!

I got a pile of scrapbook supplies for my husband. It was the best trade I ever made!

O....M....G... Janet!!! I rec'd my box today and just sat down and opened it. I absolutely everything!! I'm SUPER jazzed that I now have Love Actually on DVD!! We are going to have to have family game night with all the games you got me...LOL I have to share that I kept hearing some strange noise in my livingroom and I even looked in my fireplace trying to figure out what in the heck it was... turned out it was the Uno game going off! LMBO!! We'll be playing the Tony Bennet Christmas CD too! The reindeer towel is adorable! I have never seen that paper line IRL and it is gorgeous!! Thank you so much for the pens, embossing powders (woohoo I love those colors!), and embellishments. The candy is SO VERY tempting right now as I love all the kinds you got me and the candy dish is adorable!!! I peeked inside and almost ate a kiss but will wait until after I have weigh in tomorrow...lol

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but I will get pictures tomorrow when I can find my counter and tabletop. Christmas has thrown up all over my dining room as I'm wrapping gifts to get under the tree and ready for stockings. Santa always forgets to wrap them before he leaves them hidden in my spare room...hehehehe

Thank you ever so much for all of my wonderful goodies! My hubby teased me and said "it's not Christmas yet" and I said "My 2peas gifts are the ONLY gifts I ever open before Christmas...so there!" I can't wait to sit and watch my movie... I love Christmas movies but I absolutely adore this one!!

Becky, I am so glad it came and that you like everything! I was laughing so hard because when I was at the Post Office boxing up everything and racing against closing time, that game kept going off--while I taped the box, while I carried it to the scale, when I weighed it, when I dropped it into the big mail drop thing. I think I heard it going off for a few hours after! I wonder how many postal employees were annoyed....haha!

I am SO happy that you liked everything! I loved shopping for you, and loved the package you sent me as well! (I still need to post picture--I took one....). I really liked having you as a partner, feel like I know you a bit better now!!

Hi Shilo,

Just wanted to say your package is on it's way to the post office via my wonderful husband as I could not manage your box and my soon to be 2 year old with the expected lines. Can't wait for you to receive. Especially the handmade item - hope you like! It's been a pleasure being your partner.
