Clean and crisp and painful. I am not fond of headaches and I'm sure the many people who are having the same issues are not either. I tend to hang onto my headaches, sometimes for days, so I prefer to avoid them in the first place. So yeah, I think I've given it enough of a chance.

It's not a matter of hurting because of personal preference. It's a matter of wanting to prevent eyestrain and avoid needless headaches. I don't mind white backgrounds. I don't mind crisp stream-lined looking websites. I don't mind empty space if done properly.

Two Peas is now blindingly white. It's not annoying. It's painfully glaring. It's causing headaches and eyestrain. It's not something I will just get use to. I have no interest in straining my eyesight with this tiny font (even though I enlarge the screen) and seeing spots from all this starkness.

I know they must have put in a lot of hard work and many hours into building revamping the appearance of this site. I hope they're not done and take our main concern into consideration. There are quite a few threads and posts dedicated to the subject. Hopefully that tells them a little more tweaking would be gratefully appreciated.

I love that you're listening and trying to please us- the changes so far look nice. Unfortunately the side panels of white are still straining my eyes. I'll be checking this thread and one other that I'm interested in and then I've got to log off. I'm not complaining, I just can't browse for new threads as it hurts my eyes.

Change can be good but the stark white background is killing a lot of people's eyes! I love 2 peas but unless they do something about the white background I won't be shopping or hanging out on the forums much anymore. I have had a headache every day since the revamping. My optometrist will be the one to benefit from this change lol. Please, please change the white some other color!!

I totally agree with the poster who talked about "Related Projects" - I know that change happened a few weeks ago, but I wish the photos were larger and you were able to see more than just the 9 shown.

I hate to be a complainer, I am a loyal pea - I'm only posting this since you seem to be looking for feedback.

I'll adjust to the white, but I really miss the projects. That's how I usually end up finding/buying products that I might not have known about.

I really liked the cleanness of the message board after the site upgrade. The white didn't bother me at all. I'm kind of bummed that when I came back everything has defined grey boxes around it an the clutter is back under the Pea Names in the posts. The white doesn't bother me at all. Almost every blog, site, or message board I visit are on white background now.

Also, because it seems to make a difference, I am a middle-aged pea, that needs to wear glasses, and is prone to headaches.

I think the upgrade was a job well-done. I hope it doesn't continue to get too undone.

I zoomed and now there is not as much white space to the side and the subtle grey and darker grey alternating does help some. I'll see how it goes over the next few days. Last night after catching up on some threads and posting some layouts, my eyes were kind of tired. I suppose I was on for about an hour altogether. The letters being bigger after I zoomed the page may help too.

...Someone earlier in this thread did a screen shot with another site (another country of origin) with a similar color scheme, but the side bar sections had the lovely chevron pattern in the gorgeous "tealified" color which really made a nice look...

I really hope angelyDK sees this, as it is her (awesome) forum. Oh, btw, it is a Danish board.

Hi Geek I've been with you guys a longtime and I do shop here. I think what some of the "Older Ladies" are saying and I'm one of them is that after 40 your eyes change and its difficult to read things in certain lightening. Because it has so much white area it reflects back and makes the screen hard to read. I did tone it down bait, but its very bright for the older eyes. Its difficult to read and that's what they are trying say in a nut shell anything you can do for us would be helpful. We wouldn't be here if we didn't love your site and all that you've guys have done for us, there is no else who compares to Twopeas! You guys are the best! Thanks.

Thanks Melanie for the tip about zooming. I zoomed the page in about 6 times and it really helped.

I also noticed that on my small laptop screen it's far easier to read.

My desktop monitor is so big that there was just a ridiculous amount of white before I zoomed it in so far.

So thank you, Melanie!

alternating posts in shades of gray helps but the light gray is still too light. Can we bump it up a bit or make it a light turquoise. Reading gray text is very difficult for old eyes. I'm struggling to like this new look.

It seems like the white is creamier now - I can have my monitor on full brightness now and not squint! And it's creamier than my email background, so THANK YOU Two Peas for adapting.

It still is very much in the white category, so maybe this works for everyone??!!

Geek Pea-I wasn't complaining about the design of the new look. I love that it is clean and simple and easier to find everything. It looks great!

What I said was that because I have a history of migraines I've very sensitive to bright white. It hurts my eyes and my head and I have to look away constantly in order to read the message boards. The white is causing physical pain and it's making it very difficult for me to be here for any length of time. I don't want to leave-I've been here for 10 years, and usually spend 4 hours a day here.

Turns out lots of Peas are having the same physical pain I am having and have posted about it. We know it's your site and that this is a great free service you've provided for us for so many years for which I am very grateful. We truly don't mean to complain about the design-we are letting you know that it is causing many of us true physical pain to be here. The longer we view each sitting the worse the pain gets.

We aren't threatening to leave because we don't like the design. We are forced to spend much less time here because of the pain it causes to read. Would you please consider adding a band of color on the sides? It's this bright white which is causing me (and other Peas) pain. You could use the same color you used for our Pea Names, even black would be a huge improvement. Thank you for listening.

Thanks for the new design, overall I like it.. I am gonna put my 2 cents in and say no to the white... Just a thought, couldn't there be a option to change the color to something else? Have a white option, grey option or even pink option.. whatever the colors, then we all can have what we like? Or is that not possible?

I get migraines. I wear eyeglasses. And this site does not bother me at all. I like the changes, it is clean and modern. The profile pictures are more clear and distinct with the change as well. I like that.

I, too, missed this somehow and started my own thread. Every comment but one was negative.
I think the sight looks clean and fresh but obviously the white is a big problem for the majority of users. I'm 30 and it's giving me a headache as well. It's funny, I've had one each day this week and haven't figured out why until now, after reading all the comments about headaches.
I don't think people are purposely "threatening" to leave. Just stating a fact that they won't spend as much time here and they're bummed about it. It seems to be a pretty general consensus, I'd think the "powers that be" might listen.
I also shop here a lot (not for a while but I did earn the loyal customer badge/discount) and I found it a little offensive that they looked at each account that commented to see if they purchase their product.

I know you can't please everyone but I just have a few more small issues (besides the WHITE):

1. Please put the manufacturer info below the product in the store. It's frustrating to have to hover over each individual product. I've seen a few other posts requesting the same thing.

2. On the main page, you used to be able to hover on the Gallery link and then scroll down to choose which gallery you wanted to browse. Now when I try to choose the Scrapbooking gallery, the list disappears. Can we get that little function back please?

3. On the shopping page, the Add to Wishlist button is gone. I know you can click on the arrow but that just adds an extra step. I know that seems nitpicky but it's driving me nuts.

Thanks for listening and trying to please, that is an admirable trait in a company.

I just wanted to post this. The top picture is my work computer, it's a widescreen monitor but on the smaller end, somewhere between 15-19 inches. The bottom picture is my home computer and my monitor is 23 inches. I have both monitors set to their optimum resolution, so it's not that I just need to change it at home- it's where it should be. Unfortunately it really does make for a harder viewing experience.

**If someone finds a way to change the background color through Google Chrome, I'm all ears.

Great, it's huge and cuts off the side which was the point. Tried to resize it but it's not working. You get the idea.

Color that Site worked great for me. It didn't take away all the white margins, but since it changed the middle part where the posts are, I can tolerate the white now. I now have a pretty pink color, and on the index page the post titles are in a really dark brownish/green and the ones I've read are highlighted enough that it's really easy to see what I haven and haven't read.

I just tried this-I cut two pieces of black cardstock to fit over the two sides of the white margins on my computer. They are resting on the ledge where the bottom of the screen is. So far it is working-such a relief on my poor aching head.

This is a very primitive fix, but it works. Once DH is home for the weekend I'll ask him to try the programs to change the colors for me. He's an IT guy and I'm not very tech savvy (sp?) at all.

Yeah!!! I can stay and read Two Peas again!
