Usually I do my swaps the day before I have to mail them. Mine is done early because Sunday, Monday and most of Tuesday I didn't have a phone, TV or the internet. I got lots of stuff done. Maybe I shouldn't have had them repaired.
Kathy, here is the card I sent you with everything you need to re-create it. Beady's Send You Card |

I LIKE! I can see some of what I'd do with the kit & can't wait to see what Kathy (SWLady) does--betting it won't be a 'duplicate'...
I'm tweaking my piece & kit. Getting closer to mailing it...
How's everyone else doing? |

I should have mine ready to mail early next week. I work on it a bit, then let it sit on my desk and look at it, then I do some more, and look at it some more, hahaha |

I'm doing much the same, Kathy. I'm still looking for one more image for my project. The first one I made just isn't doing it for me. |

I am still in the thinking process, as I want to do something that I haven't done before, for my swapmate - he always inspires me to go outside my comfort zone. Will be working on it Tuesday and Thursday as those are my free days this week.
My challenge is to use techniques that he will have the tools to duplicate the basic tools that I will be using.
Also the stamped image - Should I stamp it on a larger piece of paper than I am using.
Anyone else having some kit issues - please share, so I won't feel alone. |

LOL, Lickey! I should have no problems finding 'tools'. I even know where my pasta maker is stashed.
Kit issues? When I was putting this swap together I knew they would be part of the challenge. It was a deliberate choice.
Far as stamping on larger than... Your call. (I know--that doesn't help ) Here's my 'take'...
I plan to give my swapmate a little elbow room where possible. If I send her a stamped image (for instance) I might not trim it too close.

I'm with you lickeyann. I am having trouble with my kit too. The problem is... stuff I am using on my project, I only have enough for 1 of a couple things, lol.
So... do I send different colors? different stuff? I am trying to figure it out so I can use something that I have enough of! |

Kathy. Your 'issue' is a tougher 'call'. Although I had requested that what we use in actual materials--pp, cs, ribbon, etc.--be sufficient to use in both the project & its kit, I don't want that to be a stumbling block for any swapper.
That said, however, I do strongly suggest that the differences between project & kit materials be as limited as possible. For instance... Let's say you use a checkerboard paper for your project & don't have anything close in your stash. I'd prefer you put a plain paper in the kit. That way your swapmate can make their own checkerboard if they wish.
Duplicating the project we receive is not a requirement, but... Some swapmates might wish to & I respect that. So. If you cannot send duplicate materials that's ok--just keep the kit in the ballpark. HTH.

My kit is pretty much ready to be sent. I sent the items that could be used to actually duplicate the card, however, I also stamped the images in different colors, and sortof added a few "extras" so that the recipient would be able to experiment a bit if they wanted and change it up a little too.

Okay mine project for the swap is done. My husband likes it and ask how I do it. I told him I don't know, it just came to be in parts - was half way done and knew it needed something to make it pop and it came to me.
I will not be uploading until my swap mate receives it -
Will mail when dry and after I show it to my pool buddies who are interested in what I do - they are not paper project people.
Will mail it out on Wednesday to Daniel.
I will have to take a picture of it, it can't be scanned |

ROTFLMAO, Ann! Great post about creativity! Sometimes I can't immediately tell another 'how I did it', too. And even when I come up with a way to write instructions, they are not all there is.
Doesn't mean I'm deliberately leaving something out, but--even if I were showing it to IRL--I'm not you & you're not me, but we're a 'happy family'.
Can't wait to see what you've concocted, Lickey! |

Lickey! I always thot you were a nice lady! Talented, but sweet & a bit shy. Boy was I WRONG!
Ann's calendar is 12" square & an absolute masterpiece! I just know she's doing a 'number' on me! Turning her 'YOU!' into my 'me' is going to be a huge challenge, but I'll eat lots of spinach & pump up my crafty muscles!
As I begin working out the response to Lickey's project I'm realizing that the send-it-on aspect of this swap is coloring my thinking about what I'll make from the kit. The project I make from Liskey's kit goes to Beady & have some idea about what will intrigue her with both Ann's original project & my take...
I am so loving the spirit of all those who are participating in this swap/challenge! |

Mine is going out today, too. And "Yes", I'm running a little behind, too, Ruby.
Ruby. Sorry your first idea didn't pan out. Happened for me with this swap. So I opted to keep what I made 'me', but didn't do an over-the-top project. Believe me! That was tough!!!
We're pretty laid back, but really hope all kits will be in the mail by the end of this week. Follow thru is even more important than the 'wow' factor when it comes to swapping. KWIM? |

If you haven't yet mailed yours, I suggest you send a PM to your swapmate so they know you're working on it. OK?
Far as Nov. 30 for sending the 2nd piece? If you can that's fine. If not, we'll deal with that as we go.

Jan & Marshia. Terrific! It's so easy to lose track of time & I'm often guilty of being slow for 'valid' reasons.
As I've already said, it was tough to send off my project/kit. I kept wanting to 'wow' it up. That said, I'm content with what I produced & provided.

But here I just want to check to see if I am correct in reading the instructions re to whom I send the completed 2nd part of swap. LOL & HO, Ho, Ho, Jan! I soooo hear you about 'part #2' far as the what to do!
Yes! You will send what you make from the kit you received to the person you did a project & kit for.
My swapmate got hers from me & I think she was a bit non-plused to see how 'simple' I kept it. LOL! Always fun to surprise friends!
I'm in the process of translating Lickey's kit into a 'me' project. And I'm having a ball! I'm about 75% done & have done more papercraft techniques with this than I've done in years! Scoring, torn paper & more!

I received my kit from Kathy over the Thanksgiving holiday. It is so creative: a "book" to hold different sized post it notes and a matching card. I have been amazed at the great creativity in these swaps, including the type of item. I feel quite lucky!
Thank you Kathy and I will get working on my end of the project to get it sent out. |

WTG Kathys (SW & Beady)!
So pleased Beady uploaded our projects side-by-side. Let's folks see how much heat-shrinkage can do for the scale.
I uploaded my 'send' (thank you Beady) and provided some info on how I ribbited on ribbon
Neglected to share that the frog stamp is from I Brake For Stamps & the heart was done with a Martha Stewart punch. The glitz was done with glitter paint--'Tulip' (Duncan) champagne. |

Oh my gosh. I see St Patrick's day colored in Daniel's piece and I so like frogs. The gift card holder is so fun. Love the orange holly. Every single element of each pieces just makes me smile and smile some more. I look for that in cards - the laugh and smile element. Great work to both Daniel and Kathy. |

Thanx, Lickey! Wasn't thinking St. Pat's when I made the project, but it could work for that. Might be fun to turn froggie into a leprechaun & do a shamrock from the heart shapes. I'd prefer a 'real' rock, but orange ones are hard to find... Beady has shared that orange is one of her fave colors (heavy sarcasm)
Great projects across the board, but the star swappers (Jan & Ruby) are real grabbers for me!

Terrific, Heidi!
The 'spirit of giving' has descended on my heart. That means that if you haven't sent your 'part 2' yet? I'm not gonna be upset & doubt anyone else will be. Try to get them mailed before Jan. or let your swapmate know you haven't forgotten.
This was an ambitious version of 'Send YOU!' & everyone did a great job of follow thru with their pieces & kits. I'm proud of all of us!
I'm cogitating about what (& when) the next SY will be. Might be Jan since the first month's tag for Heidi's 'monthly' is due early that month. Might shoot for mid-Jan for the what & sign-up.
Merry, maerry, y'all! |
