Quiet up here today. Is everyone cuddled up by the fire? Enjoying the long evenings? Staying warm at least??

NYLENE -- it's been a while. I hope you & Steve are both OK. Check in when you have a chance.

Nothing to share; I was just checking on all of you.

Hello again ladies!

I had a lot of fun praising your layouts last night. I was really ready for bed when I was done, I did worry that I was just spewing gibberish by the time I was done though...the truth is, is that all of those layouts are inspirational! I dreamed about scrapbooking all night long, and woke up ready to scrap. So instead, I cleaned up my space, and THEN I scrapped again!

I made a page from the Jenni Bowlin kit that I got this month, and actually, I LOATHED it, no really I was so upset with the kit that I couldn't believe that I got it. Anyway, I dug through my stuff and decided that the last time I started a layout without a photo in mind I liked how it ended up so I did the same thing this time. Eventually I chose the photo of me on the Skybridge, and didn't even pause when I realized that nothing in the photo begs a red/black/creme colored layout, but I like it.

ANYWAY, here it is 12 Awesome Seconds

Can't wait to be able to participate more frequently now!

I'm behind in praising, but I wanted to pop on and let you know, we finally got Rebecca's MRI report back and it's normal. No explanation for headaches/pain but at least we're not dealing with a tumor or brain injury. Now we are in the waiting que for the doctors appt. its scheduled for 1/30 but we are on the "call us if there is a cancellation and we'll be there in 20 min" list.

Tammy! So glad to hear the MRI was clear. Hopefully answers are not far off, but at least some big stuff has been ruled out. YAY.

TAMMY I know it's frustrating to NOT have answers, but it must be a relief to know it's not something sitting in wait like a tumor. Hope your doctors can figure out what is triggering her episodes and find a way to treat or cure it.

KATY glad you found time to scrap between all that praising. What a fun layout. I don't often start a layout without photos in mind, but occasionally I do when I'm trying to use a specific kit, then go look for a photo to fit. It's always interesting to see what comes out when I scrap from a different starting place. Creativity has no boundaries though and usually I like what I end up with.

BARBARA you've been popping on a lot. Nice to see you around.

I did scrap a page today...for the day 27 of the digi challenge. I think I've done all but 2 days (one is in progress) the other I missed since I was without internet to look at the gallery...but not bad. Definitely has kept me scrapping all month and it's been interesting to see what my inspirational LO will be each day. Some have definitely challenged me more than others. Always interesting to scrap in someone else's style.

Sorry to have been away so long. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes for DH. He's doing some better, but still not great. He just can't seem to get back on his feet. His BP is super low (and his family prac. Dr. is a jerk!) and he is just struggling. He has lost over 60 lbs, and looks like a stooped little old man. He is worrying me. Much of the weight he lost since we started dieting in May, but it seems to be just falling off him now. I bought him a new white shirt and had them measure him. He asked for it to be loose around the neck and they gave him a loose 15 1/2. His old ones were a tight 17! He's doing a little walking outdoors each day, but he sleeps most of the day and night. Theresa, thanks for the gatorade suggestion. He's now drinking that and 2-3 boosts each day.

I wondered if he could stand to go to Thanksgiving at DD's home with all the family. He said if we gave him a pain pill and propped him up in a corner he'd be ok. That's pretty much what we did. He slept in a comfy chair, but was around to enjoy the family. The grands were all so careful not to hug too hard or bump him. It was a nice day, but he was exhausted.

Debi, thanks for putting your layouts in red. How do you do that? Do you put the red in before the url? I have never been able to figure out how to BOLD and COLOR something either.

Praisemark, I think. The links don't show up any different that just typing on my computer, so I hope I got them all. I have to run my cursor over each line to find them.

Tina, I loved the press release. Congrats! I'm proud to be a personal friend of someone so important! (and so nice!)

Linda, I'm with Theresa on hoping you are being careful with your beau. I know you are an intelligent woman, so I'm counting on that. Congrats to you. How long will you be in England? How is Wanda doing?

There are a million other things I should comment on, but even with the Color this Site installed, this site makes my eyes hurt. I'll try to keep up better.

I can continue to put up the checkbox next year and will announce the birthdays unless someone else wants a turn. I will have to have someone send me the RAK list though, because I can't do that. We need a new one, because the old one has lots of people we only saw once or twice.

Tammy, so glad Becca's EEG was normal. Hope they can find a treatment for her. My DD is doing very well after her C-section, and we worried that another abdominal surgery would start her all over again.

Hugs to all of you.

Good morning,

It's raining here. A lot. I'm fine with. In fact, it's kinda nice. But I have a lot to do and rain slows one down. *sigh*

I have done a number of LOs over the past week, and I just can't remember to bring them down from the scrap attic to photograph them!!

DEBI -- I do run hot & cold on making it up here to post, don't I?? But I've done TWO more of your digi challenges in the past few days and I can't wait to show you. I *really* have enjoyed this challenge because it brings a constant flow of motivation/inspiration AND it doesn't require me to do a bunch of linking/references. I don't *mind* doing those when appropriate, but sometimes that stops me from uploading because I don't want to take the time. sometimes I get weird about conserving minutes...It's weird, I know.

THERESA -- I get worried when you're not around for a whole day.

NYLENE -- I am hoping to see a post from you soon...worried about you two.

DIANA -- You said 12 tags, correct?? I've set aside some inks, some stamps (do I need those?) and a bunch of scraps that look christmas-y. I'm very excited!! We start Saturday??

KATY -- nice work lately. I love, love, LOVED your 12 seconds.

OK, off to get stuff done. Have a great Hump Day, all! Hopefully I'll get some LOs posted today.

~ B

NYLENE there isn't anything complicated about changing the link color to red (which I thought was easier to see for all of us with aging eyes). that turquoise might be pretty but it's hard to pick out.

When you post a link, do the usual click on URL at the bottom, paste in your URL for your LO hit enter, and where you are to type your link title, type {color:red} YOUR LINK TITLE {/color} (except use square brackets [] instead of {}) and hit return. Easy peasy.

Sorry that your dh is having such a hard time recouping...must be aggravating to both of you. And 60 lbs is a lot to lose quickly. Glad he was able to spend time with the family for Thanksgiving though.

BARBARA I'm glad you liked the digi challenge this month. Scraplifting can really boost your inspiration and takes a lot of the guesswork out especially when you are doing blind scraplifting where you are assigned a specific LO unbeknownst to you like this challenge does by sending you to a particular page and particular LO for each day. I've had fun with it too and it's been interesting to force myself to scrap pages I might otherwise have skipped over and make them my own.

Kids are home 2 hours early today so I guess I should get ready to go retrieve them soon.

Have a good one.

For December's Calendar Girls Challenges, who is posting them? LINDA? TINA? We're getting close to the end of the month, but I'm in denial that Christmas is only a few short weeks away. Plugging my ears and singing NaNANANaNaNa....

Looks like I missed a birthday today.

Happy Birthday to Lida and Lisa-S.

Lida's B-Day is today and Lisa's is tomorrow. Hope you each have a great birthday and a wonderful year.

ETA: Thanks Debi for the info about making the link red. On my computer, there isn't even a light blue. Unless I put my cursor on it, it is just like the rest of the post.

Whew, worn out again!!! Stopped at Sam's on the way home from work. Thought I'd run in and out--wrong. An hour later, still didn't find the Bible I wanted for Austin. Did find a cute Bible story book though and he liked it. Stopped by their house on the way home to take his ornament (ordered him a Cub Scout Ornament with his name on it from Personal Creations) and see all the decorations they've put up. Finally home after 7.

In case you don't know it, Jupiter is visible to the naked eye tonight. It's the brightest object next to the moon. Tried to take a photo but it's too cold to really focus so it didn't take well.

Jupiter/moon photo

Nylene, hate to hear about Steve. Hoping he's not taking any blood pressure lowering meds, may need to check with his eye doctor too about the meds he's using for his eyes. If his doctor isn't helping I'd take him to another one. He can't keep declining like that. Glad the gatorade is helping. Joyce doesn't like it so she drinks tomato juice. Carnation Instant Breakfast is good, has more calories than Boost and tastes better. Not to mention it's cheaper.

Not staying up too late and am taking some benadryl so hopefully I'll sleep all night instead of waking up four or five times.

Good morning!

Nylene - So sorry to hear Steve is still struggling. It is horrible how a health knock at an older age can set a person back so badly. I see it a lot. It just seems recovery takes so much longer. I agree with Theresa - can you change doctors if his current one isn't sympathetic?

Tammy - great to hear Becca's MRI was normal. It cancels out a lot of major issues. Is she still getting frequent attacks? Poor baby...

Debi - Yeah, I'm looking forward to the holidays now. A cold, snowy Christmas is just as wierd to me. Here it's beach and barbeque weather. We have our Christmas dinner at night because it is too hot for cooked food for lunch Scrapping-wise I always struggle to find a range that doesn't have too many snowmen, snowflakes, etc because they JUST DON'T WORK. I need bright colours!

It's a lovely 77F here today - overcast and a breeze. Not the 95 of yesterday, thank goodness. We seem to be in for a hot summer if it is going over 85 already.

Kyle was so funny this morning. He was half asleep when I dressed him and I didn't put on his flip-flops. He got in tha car without them and suddenly realised he didn't have shoes on when we got out at school. Tears! I had to bring him home, put on shoes and then go back... it's Kindergarten, for heaven sake! Half the kids were shoe-less. But mister NEEDS his shoes.Thank goodness we live close.I can only imagine what a performance we would have had if I had to go straight to work and didn't have the morning off.

Need to do some admin again this morning. Would rather browse the gallery and scrap, but need to pretend to be responsible, lol.

Good Morning Sweet Peas!

Happy Thursday! This week has flown by...it's amazing how working 14 hours a day makes the week go fast. I don't know what I was thinking, but I scheduled a proposal writing retreat at my house today with several of the managers at work. So I had to hurry up and finish our Christmas decorating last night and get all of the boxes put away. I'm still trying to find all of the little green bristles from the garland in my floor. It would have been less stressful for me if we did it at the office but they all like coming to my house to do this, so we are.

Nylene - I'm sooo sorry that Steve is struggling to recover. I'll keep praying for him.

Tammy - I'm really glad that Becca's MRI was okay, I hope the docs are able to figure out what is causing her headaches when she goes in January.

Debi and other challenge hostesses - Please send all of your challenges to me, I'll be posting for December. I will just need them by noon on the 30th. Thanks so much!

I hope you all have a really nice day!

Tina

Theresa, since the lottery is illegal here, guess I can't win the lottery. You know we are all counting on you to win a big one sometime!

Dh is feeling a bit better. He actually drove out to chat and have lunch with some of his former employees. It's a slow process, but I think he is making some improvement.

Just wanted to post a card I made. Wish I could give credit, but I can't find it again online. I realize it's out of season, but it seems like I always need generic cards that can just be sent when I feel someone needs a hug. So I made a bunch of them.

ETA: Well, it took me 5 tries, but I managed to get the link in color. Thanks, Debi.

Hello everyone.

Thanks TINA for stepping up to do the posting for December.

NYLENE I'm not sure why your computer doesn't get the turquoise links, but either way they are hard to see. You got your link to post in red but the link wasn't working for me so I'm going to post it again for you.
Sending Hugs Your Way by NYLENE

MICHELLE I can imagine it's harder to find "sunny weather Christmas stuff" although they had a lot of it in Hawaii. I mean, half the world celebrates Christmas during the summer, right?

TINA you've got to slow down before you wear yourself out. My...just the thought of decorating my house in one night makes me want to take a nap.

Here are 2 LOs (a double pager) and a single page trying a new digital technique.

Debi, I give up. Thanks for posting the link. It's just too complicated for me! The reason the links don't have a color is because my SIL put on Color This Site. Without that, I'd have had to say goodby to 2peas. May have to anyway.

Ah NYLENE now come on it's not that hard. Let's go over it again.
You already know how to post a link using the URL (at the bottom)and pasting in your copied URL address. The only change is adding the color commands before the link title to turn it on, and after the link title to turn it off. Using square brackets [] which I'll replace with squirrely brackets {}to show what it looks like. REPLACE the {} with [] to make the command work. I have to use different brackets here or it will show the command activated (turning the text red, in this case).

So for your link to your card it will look like
{ url=http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/6687-nylene/1874950-sending-hugs-your-way-calendar-girls-pokey-pea/}{ color:red}Sending you Hugs {/color} { /url}

Now wherever there is a { or } replace it with a [ or] . does that make sense?

You can add the color on/color off command either when you type in your link title or after you hit return you can add it into the command line before and after your link title.

Somehow trying to explain it in writing is a lot harder than simply showing you how to do it. it really isn't that hard.

If you click on the red square at the bottom, you will get the commands {color:red} and {/color} (only using square brackets [])...anything between those commands will print as red.

ok I need to get dinner. Wish that was as simple as hitting a red square. lOL

Thanks, Debi. I was able to do it. I had some extra =url] or something in there. Not sure I could ever do it again, but I'll try when I next post something. Thanks for the patient training. You know it took me months to learn to post a link....who knew there was a right click on the mouse!

Evening ladies! Had a good day today, got caught up (well almost) and actually left only 15 minutes later than I should have. Stopped by Hobby Lobby and bought the cutest wooden Christmas tree for Joyce (doesn't have the energy to put up a regular tree) and some 12x12 storage boxes (all 1/2 off of course). Plan on taking all my stickers and embellies and storing them in the boxes on the bookshelf to try and get a little more organized. Right now I have my stickers in an accordion file style folder and it's a pain to dig through so I end up not using my stuff. Hoping that this will let me use it more. It'll also let me grab a box and take it to a crop. For example if I'm working on Christmas cards, grab the Christmas box and off I go. We'll see. They only had 6 of the black ones so I'll start off with them and see what happens.

Tina, having everyone over sounds like quite the treat for them. I sent you my challenge for next month.

Nylene, glad Steve is feeling better.

Don't remember anything else. Have a great night all.

This is going to be my Praisemark in a few minutes.

I scrapped another page today, Silly Billy I hopefully turned it red for Nylene. I had a lot of fun making this page, it's about my roommates truly weird dog.

Today I had a very amazing surprise. I have had to wear glasses to drive for the last 25 years, and I've worn glasses for the last 30 years. I had failing vision for a while, and had micro aneurisms in my eyes, along with diabetic retinopathy and some other bad stuff. I've recently lost a lot of weight, and my blood sugars are good. But I had a huge vision change recently, and it turned out that it was a good thing! My vision is 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other. My Opthalmologist really looked around in my eyes and saw NOTHING. I only need to wear readers for up close stuff ( like scrapping and using the computer).

I feel like a new person! Except that I can't hide behind my glasses anymore!

Wow KATY to not have to wear glasses, that would be awesome. I've worn glasses (not always the proper prescription but that's another story) since I was 3. My eyes however seem to be declining...as I need stronger readers and as for far-away vision, I can't see nothing!

You almost had the color command right, but instead of /red you needed /color as you are turning on the color command and then turning off the color command (kind of like a light bul. You could just as easily use color:blue then /color to turn what's in the middle blue.

I spent the evening helping Noah with his Literature project. He did a great job on creating a poster board movie poster for the book Venonmous, but we had a bear of a time trying to get stuff to print. First I was out of ink, so we went to the store and got ink and some poster board. Then I realized after we got home, I bought the wrong ink (somehow I bought the ink I used to use for my old--and we're talking old printer) so we had to drive back to the store to get the right stuff. Then we tried to print and we'd get 1/2 page then nothing, or it would print in Green and not black, or we even got the inverted colors like a photo negative where white printed black and black printed white...I've never had trouble with my printer before so this was aggravating. Finally we drove to the FedEX (which used to be Kinkos) to print his photopages (done like a scrapbook page using Paint.net--I was impressed) but the store closest to us was, of course, closed. High-tailed it to another and got there about 15 minutes before closing to get the pages printed which printed fine there. Came home and helped Noah review and rewrite his report to include more specific detail than the sentence "I chose so and so to be the actor because they are about the same age, look like the person in the book, and are a good actor." He did select quite a high profile set of performers though and knew what they had been in prior, so it was more of getting him to write down that stuff. Then it was back to arm wrestling with the printer. Managed to squeeze out the pages. Tomorrow before school Noah and I will have to glue his stuff on his posterboard but I'm hoping that won't take forever. Guess I should get up early to find the proper adhesive....

My son, Noah, also found his phone which has been missing since August. Of course I just bought a replacement one for it last week. This one obviously has gotten wet as the battery was dead and the telltale pink moisture indicator was bright pink. However I did put a new battery in it and it seems to be ok other than I have to call the company and get it reregistered as he hadn't updated his minutes so it's not active. I have to do the same for mine as it got dropped outside and got wet, except mine simply won't recharge so have to transfer the number to another phone. It's always something. But if I sit on the phone for a couple of hours, getting everything reregistered, minutes updated (we're on a monthly plan) we might be in business again.

Despite the fact we worked on homework, Noah and I got to spend quite a bit of time together which we haven't done much of lately. It's so much more pleasant to have one kid at a time. Owen was occupied writing a play script for the same class, same assignment but different option.

I didn't do any scrapping today other than pick a layout to scraplift and make the template. Still need to find papers, photos and embellishments to do the page, but at least I have a plan.

Now i'm off to send my challenge to Tina.

Have a good night.

Debi - THANK YOU I went back and edited the link and I think I've got it! ( Now I've got My Fair Lady in my head).

I got up to take the dog out and I'm having a hard time relaxing again to sleep. There were a couple of intense moments where I thought that he was going to start barking his fool head off at 5:30am, but he just yanked on the leash because he saw a C-A-T across the street.

Now, he's sound asleep and I'm wide awake. Typical man.

Hurray for Friday! It's also my 33rd wedding anniversary so it's a good day. Nothing planned for it. Randy's working until about 3 a.m. We are going out to eat tomorrow. No gifts exchanged either, need new windows so we're going to use the money toward them. Practicality wins out!

Kati, hurray for no glasses for you too! Kid you not, being over weight can cause all kinds of health issues due to the glucose being stored in body fat. People can get blood pressure, vision, kidney function, etc. all working better. Shame fatty food tastes so darn good!

Debi, REALLY glad I don't have to deal with last minute kid's homework anymore after reading your story!!!

Off to get ready for work. Should be a good morning, not a lot of patients.

Have an awesome day all.

Happy Friday ladies!!!

Yay! I have zero plans for tomorrow, so that makes me happy. I might try to do some of my Christmas shopping since I've been too busy to even think about it. One of my best friend's Mom passed away yesterday, so I'm taking care of organizing all of the food for the family meal after her memorial service on Sunday. It was honestly a blessing that God took her, she's had cancer for 6 years and was in terrible pain, I just feel bad for my friend, Jill. She has been taking care of her Mom for all of those years (she's an only child), so I don't think she will know what to do with herself now.

Theresa - Happy Anniversary!!! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Katy - Congrats to you on losing the weight and your vision improving so much. That is amazing!

I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning! Can't believe it's the last day of the month (rabbit, rabbit!). I might even scrap today between laundry and a basketball game. Charley is here today, but she's pretty much entertained by herself. Got my digi books from Creative Memories in the mail and quite pleased with them, although I think I could do just the same/cheaper from snapfish etc. may have to look into that for next albums but was trying to be supportive of my consultant neighbor.

Please say a prayer for Gary- has had two interviews this week for consulting jobs. Now to get the actual contracts in hand and see if it's feasible. But it means a life back on the road for him which is hard of course. Hoping it's a bridge between nothing and something local to pop up.

Theresa- Happy Anniversary!!

Katy- wow, good for you!! what awesome news.

I know I'm forgetting things, I didn't open another window, but hugs and love to you all.
I need to get lunches made before Charley shows up. Have a good day!

good morning & happy friday all,

I don't know where this week went! It seems like 5 minutes ago I was relishing the 'extra' week between Thanksgiving and December...now it's gone.

THERESA -- HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

KATY -- Congratulations! That is very exciting and really impressive! yay!!

NYLENE -- I knew you were probably posting while I was typing I'm glad you are well, though I'm sad to hear Steve is still struggling. Hopefully he's now on the up-swing and will continue to feel better & better!

It's almost 8 and both girls are still asleep! That figures on a day when I woke up (and got up!) at 5. At least I got some stuff done this morning.

I hope everyone is having a great Friday!

Happy Anniversary, Theresa and Randy!

We will be having #45 next month. Of course that means I was married at age 3 and finished my teaching degree at age 1!

Katy, congrats on the no glasses. What a blessing. I need to get mine changed because I'm feeling blind. BTW you don't have to put your links in red for me, but I do appreciate it. How sweet of you to do that.

Debi, sorry about your printer problems. Do you think it's fixable? Glad the phone was found and glad you got to spend so time alone with your son.
I found one on one time with my kids was so rewarding for both of us.

Toni, I'm missing you! Have a nice weekend.

Tammy, prayers said for Gary. I know the right thing will come for your family. Continued prayers for all of you. How's Becca?

Hi, Barbara. Thanks for worrying about me. I plan to take DH walking in the mall this morning. DCWV is having a big sale in the old Nordstroms empty store, so if it looks good I'll take DH home and go back to do some looking.

Tina, glad you have a day to do what you want. After DH retired he moved all his office stuff in front of the Christmas stuff. I can't get to the
decorations and of course DH can't, so we may not decorate this year. SIL has offered to come and bring the kids to help, but I'm just not feeling it yet. Maybe later. Wish mine were all done like yours!!!

Waving "hi" to everyone else!

Off to walk at the Mall (and take a peek at the DCWV sale)
Have a great weekend, everyone.

ETA: Hey, I'm getting better. I got that Anniversary sign to post on the first try! Maybe there's hope for me yet!

Hi all,

I wanted to post these LOs I did before the November thread is finished!

I'm trying to make the link legible!

Forever & Always is for the sketch challenge...I did both of the sketches and they'll be together.

Julia's 1st Birthday are both digi challenges for this month. I really liked doing the digi challenge.

Me, 1976 is another digi challenge.

Daddy and CJ

Where there is Love

(2 random LOs I did a while back and never posted)

It's raining like crazy here! I kinda like it...staying in, staying warm, and hopefully getting more time to scrap

I hope everyone is warm & snug...and scrapping!!

Quiet again...are you all snuggled up?

TAMMY -- thinking of Gary and wishing good luck with possible jobs.

DEBI - do you have the boys? is it raining up there?

It's a good night to stay in and SCRAP! Right now we're letting J stay up late to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Yes, the claymation that we all watched on TV. I have the DVD and *finally* J is willing to watch.

But as soon as this is over, she's off to bed and I'm off to scrap!!

Looking forward to a new thread tomorrow!! (oh wait! have you all switched over already? is that where you all are?!!)

BARBARA you are so funny, ...no I don't think the new thread was up yet. I haven't seen it anyway. Yes I had the boys til 6 p.m....we spent the early evening watching a movie together for some together time. Harder to get these days but lately they seem to be more willing ot spend time with their mom again. I like that. Then they went off to their dad's for the weekend. It's pouring, I mean drenching rain outside. I talked myself out of going back out and grocery shopping. Instead I stayed in, watched a couple tv shows I had missed earlier this week and ate too many bad for you snacks. Now I'm tired and my stomach is upset and I think I might as well go to bed.

Look for the new month's post tomorrow.

Tina must be having computer issues. She said she was going to post the thread last night. I'm sure she'll get it up soon. Until then, Happy December! We've decided to head to Nashville today and celebrate our anniversary. Just wanted to say hi before we leave.

Hey ladies! I'm working on the thread, it will be up shortly. I had a blonde moment and forgot that it was November 3th. Griffin got up this morning announcing that it was December 1st and I about choked on my coffee.

We will be in business shortly.
