Christine - right there with you on the election Crap. But only a couple more days. With everything going on I forgot to vote early and I refuse to stand in line for 2-3 hours to do so. I will go early Tuesday Morning and get it over with.

Moving slow this morning - Little Bit (female doxie) woke me up about 7 the old time and wouldn't let me go back to sleep. She is now curled up on the couch and sleeping and Joey (male) is in bed with my oldest Granddaughter.

Finishing the laundry - taking a trip to Tampa and then crashing in the craft room. Got the card's cut - not to decorate!

Fever spiked and so did my headache. Going to lay on the couch and see if that helps. It is 80 + degrees and very humid.

I am also ready for the election to be over!!

Working on cards today and cleaning.

Yesterday we attended my niece's baptism. My BIL asked me to be her Godmother and I was just so honored. It was nice to see family and relax.

Hi ladies!

Tracy - love the kitchen! Your hubby did pretty good!

Denise - I hope you are feeling better!

Christine - I sure do miss my stamp club group! Sounds like you have a great group to hang out with and get some stamping done.

Yes I'm sooo very tired of the election crap... I just hope everyone gets out there and votes! Let your voice be heard!

I still have not gotten into my scrap room! I have spent all weekend in the garage. I decided to paint my dining room chairs... it has taken longer than what I thought it would and I still have one more coat of the clear finish to add and then I will be done. I also painted a little side table today but the paint didn't adhere to the top and bubbled so I spent the remainder of the afternoon sanding it off. I think I will paint the legs and stain the top. It was a beautiful day here... you would never know it is November by the weather!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Wowzer - the board is slow this weekend. Everyone must of had a great weekend.

I never made it to the craft room either - laid on the couch and watched a movie and feel asleep. The tension from the past 2 weeks is slowly leaving the body and I am able to sleep again. I think I put too much pressure on myself to get it done - NOW - and zapped all possible energy I had. Rested good last night as well.

Going to straighten up the house and I know I will be in the craft room tonight as I have to make an album for someone's birthday that is today. When I was asked to help last night - I didn't know her birthday was today.

Off today and going to enjoy some relaxation time. No plans although DH did request meatloaf for supper. I told him that I'd try and fit cooking into my busy schedule.

Woke up to snow yesterday morning. The ground was covered. It's all melted now but I'm sure more is on the way.

Mindy - I'll have to admit, the Long Island Medium is quite intriguing. I can't wait to hear about it!

Tara -CONGRATS on the job!!!!

Christine - We chaperone for our high school band for the away games. We have 376 kids in our band and we take 7 buses to each away game. I swear that 80% of them need a good "whopping"! The total disrespect is unreal.
We have a hard time getting parents to volunteer.

Denise - Happy late birthday! Sorry I wasn't on to say it in time!

Tracey - the kitchen looks amazing! So clean and crisp looking!

Leah and Eric were here over the weekend. We went to tour wedding venues and I have decided that there is NOT enough Valium in the world to deal with wedding planning. My idea of a budget is NOT her idea of a budget. I can not believe how much everything costs. Just seriously amazed!

Good Morning everyone. We are expecting thunderstorms today and then a cold front. Suppose to be in low 40's.

Heading out to vote about 10ish. This is one day that I am glad I do not have television as I do not want to watch the results all night. I think the winner is announced somewhere around 10 so I will check the internet.

Family drama on my DIL's side kept us from scrapping last night. Spent some time with the 2 oldest DGD's at Target and had some good laughs. They were buying some thongs and I was trying to get them to get granny panties! They wanted me to get thongs. NOT! Came home and fixed Chicken Alfredo from scratch and pigged out! Have a little left for lunch today with a small salad. Yummo!

I have been up and down all night with the medications again. But I am feeling better and can take a deep breath without coughing. I will be sluggish later today but that's okay!

My nephew and family have talked about sending my niece's clothes to help with the victims of Hurricane Sandy - trying to find an honest agency in Florida to see who will be helping get clothing and supplies up there. I checked with our church and will be checking with others this week. Still not sure if I am going to his house this weekend or my son's camper.

There is an airshow with either the Blue Angels or Thunderbird's and it is held close to the water. We will park the boat by the bridge and watch the show (weather permitting). Trying to get my nephew to take the boys and let them see it and go on the boat. Not sure if he will or not.

Good morning, off to work after a wonderful relaxing four days at home. I think I could be a stay at home mom - does it matter that my kids are out of the house??

Could someone please send me the latest up to date RAK address list. I'm been very lazy with updating and I'm not sure that everyone's address is correct.

The closer I get to the end the less patience I have for this job. Ugh! 8 workind days left.

It's snowing here today. Shouldn't stick but still icky. I know it's going to happen at some point.

I have been searching pinterest but not much luck. I am in search of a healthy breakfast idea that I can eat/drink on the way to work.

Good morning!
I'm looking forward to seeing some interesting 'play' on the money market today after your election last night. We shall see how it affects the international finance economy. I'd like to place a trade or two!

We've had some warm, humid days lately. I was woken up by rain last night and this morning is foggy, overcast and a lot cooler!

It was Melbourne Cup Day yesterday. I worked in the morning, raced home and glammed up in 45 mins to run out the door to a Melbourne Cup Luncheon in the city. Caught up with friends and met some of the people Geek works with. I hadn't bothered to do any research on the gee-gees so asked Geek to place $20 on whatever he thought should win. We lost!! However, Geek did win it all back and more on later races, which we often do. You can never pick the winner of the main race. The later ones are always easier. So we came home in profit and tiddly from too much champagne so that was a good day.

Study day today - so if you see me here too often, kick my butt and tell me to get back to the books! lol I need to finish an assignment this week and am doing a very good job at procrastinating.

Three more sleeps and I get to see my grandson! We are flying over to Perth on Friday night and abducting him Saturday morning to take him whereever he wants for the weekend. He'll stay with us at the resort overnight. Sunday evening, we'll have a family bbq and he can go back to momma. He's so excited!! (and so is Gar Gar and Nan). Geek asked me yesterday to buy a remote control Jaguar car for him to give to Keegan as a 'special Gar Gar present'! lol, my family crack me up. I thought it so sweet.

Enough of me. Waving hello's to everyone.

My last day is next Thursday the 15th. I don't start until the 26th so I will have a whole week off. Nice for me that it falls on Thanksgiving week here. In all the years I have worked I have never had the whole week of Thanksgiving off and I have had to fight to have either the day before or after off. I already told MIL I am more than happy to help with any food she is preparing for Turkey day.

Hello girls,

How is everyone getting along? I too will be happy when this election is over. I hate to admit this but I won't be voting today. I've had a bug the past couple of days and really can't be too far from the porcelain throne right now. Sorry, TMI I know. I wish we could merge the two candidates and elect that person. There are just so many things I like and dislike about both of them.

Tracey, beautiful kitchen! Your husband did a wonderful job! How is little Beau getting along? Lucas was diagnosed with colic this week. It sure hasn't been a pleasant week. We feel so helpless because we know he's hurting and there's not much we can do for him. His mommy changed his bottles per the doctors recommendation so we're hoping that works. Sunday I want to take him to my friend's house for pictures. She took a few of him and Hayden but she must not have been happy with them because usually I get a CD with the pictures on them a couple days later. Hopefully next week I'll have a few to share.
He gave me a scare last week. He had been fed but wouldn't burp and needed a diaper change. While I was changing him, he got choked and stopped breathing. when he stops breathing, he gets rigid almost like someone having a seizure and turns the most dreadful shade of red. Thank goodness my niece Kris, who is a nurse, was home and came right over to check him out. Some days I honestly don't know what I would do without her, she's such a blessing to our family.

Tara: Congrats on the new job! And what a great time to be switching since it allows you Thanksgiving week off. I started making a list of what I need to buy for dinner and I'm already overwhelmed. I don't know how I'll get all my baking finished when I have a colicky baby every evening. My niece would come and sit with him but she's working nights. Oh well, it will all get done, it always does.

Kristy: How's little Kinsley? She is so adorable!

Mindy: Did you meet the Long Island Medium? I have a story about her. One of my little daycare kids had the audacity to grow up and go to college and major in broadcasting. She worked as an intern for ABC her senior year and worked on Live with Kelly (before they chose her co-host) and Good Morning America. She produced a segment with the LI Medium for GMA. While she was being interviewed she looked towards Ashton (my daycare kid) and started asking her questions about her grandmother. The segment that aired didn't show everything she told Ashton but Ashton said she knew very specific things about her grandmother, enough to make her emotional. I don't know if I can share the link here but I'll try to find it and post it.

Maggie, have fun with the little guy, how cute Geek wants him to have a special present from him. I'm sure he will love it! They grow up so fast. I know it's a cliche` but it's soooo true.

Have a great week!

They grow up so fast.

Tina, don't I know it. After 5 kids and feeling like all I've done is be a mother my whole life, I'm almost kid-free. My baby is 15yo and pretty independent. We can go away weekends, etc and not worry about 'responsibilities'.
And little Keegan? Yeah, he's growing up so fast. Which is why we need to visit! We haven't seen him since they left Sydney last year and he's grown up tons. I don't want to miss it all and only see him when he's a teenager. Gotta make the effort and get over occasionally.

TARA Your break time is perfect! Make sure you enjoy it and have a "ME" day. Go get some pampering before starting your new job!

hi ladies,

i feel like i've done a whole lot of nothing but am exhausted! lol actually i've been crafty lately...just made a pair of altered shoes, but will come back to that shortly. made photobooks for john and the girls for Christmas gifts... John's is for his upcoming deployment so he can take a piece of us with him.

stampin-patti, your story about wedding budgets and planning reminds me more of why I just need to do the courthouse route and be done.... lol i hope you make it through the planning! I was told one time to pick the one thing you won't scrimp on... the thing that means the most, whether it be the dress, flowers, for me it would have been pictures of course, etc... then find ways to save on the other items, whether it be to make them yourself, etc. maybe that helps, i don't know. lol

tara I'd like to know about the blog too!

ok, gotta run but i'll be back with the shoes later!

Maggie - got your beautiful card. Thank you so much.

This morning I made a December daily that is being taught on Kathy Orta's site. It is made with 6 file folders. Went together really quickly - now I have to decorate it and make the tags. You can check it out at www.paperphenonomen.blogspot.com

So I started a thread about the altered shoes, so I am just cutting and pasting.....

so..... not only did I make 1 pair, I made 2! lol

Younger sister did not want anything to do with our plans yesterday while we were buying materials, but.... decided she wanted a pair after she saw her sisters! so back to HL I went, and then had to find some shoes! She doesn't like Toms (or something similar) but likes Vans so I had to find something similar to those! They have decided since there are Toms and Vans, now there are Alicias ( original creations) and they kept saying how much they couldn't wait to wear them tomorrow! LOL I'm telling ya, I'm going into business!

so here you go! Picture heavy!

Christine - no I haven't gotten yours yet. No worries.

Alicia - you should go into business of redoing shoes. Those are so cute (and so are the girls).

I have 4 days off - going to my nephews this morning with my parents and daughter as he wants his wife's stuff out of the house now. So we are going to go get it today and take it to the charity here that is taking stuff north for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. At least the clothes - not sure if anyone would want sandals and flip flops this time of the year. Then home tonight, cleaning and pack tomorrow for the trip to the other coast and take the boat our for an airshow on the water. I am looking forward to relaxing but not the drive over and back.

Please keep my son in your prayers. He has a potential job offer that will bring him back here for at least 5 years. Otherwise he may be sent to Jacksonville and if that is the case they will all be moving up there. My DIL and Grandson do not want to move away from the family or the schools here as he is doing so good this year. THe job would be a promotion and a cut in pay but would get a company truck and gas card and the best part - be HOME every night. They pretty much offered him the job it is pending background and drug testing which we know is not a problem. His FIL also works for the company and he would be under my son. That is not a problem as they have worked that way before.

It is cold this morning and the mutts are frisky. They didn't want to get out from under the covers this morning and now they are bugging me to go outside.

Will check in as I can. See you later tonight.

Wow, Alicia! They look great! Job well done.

So excited. Geek and I fly out to Perth tonight to visit my grandson and see the kids. We're bringing one of Geek's home with us. Not sure how that will go as none of his kids ever bothered to get to know me. They all did their best work to break us up in the early days. Moving to Sydney was one of the best things we did, in that respect. So it will be interesting to see how we get along.
Photos of our visit will be posted next week for a Granny Brag!!

On another note: I quit my job yesterday. I got to 'saturation point' with doing 'dog work' and not following my heart/dream. So I am now a 'Free Agent' to study my heart out and really get my head into the money market and become a trader. I am considering another course but at $5k a pop, I want to be sure it's the right course for me. In the meantime, I'm trading small and reading big.

Denise: Good to hear you planning some downtime. And being on the water is the best! I miss the ocean. I'm telling ya! Canberra is a stepping stone! We all miss being on the coast and will be working our way back. It's so calming, don't you think?

*waving hello to everyone* Enjoy your day. It's nearly the weekend!!

Hi all - Christine I got happy mail from you today - I totally love the card. Thank you.

I am back from my nephews - not as bad as we originally thought - but her mom had been going through some stuff too. All the jewelry and stuff was gone. As were some of her clothes.

Another chilly morning here today. I am starting my laundry so I get it done and don't have to do that when I come home Sunday.

Things are progressing with the boys and my nephew. The house is getting back to its normal state thanks to the family on both sides. My nephew is planning on going back to work on Monday and has tons to do this weekend.

Found some scrap booking stuff while we were going through the stuff and my nephew told me to bring it home and use it. Mostly paper packs. Just set it in the craft room for now.

TGIF - I am ready for the weekend. I don't have Monday off but that is ok.

Maggie and Geek - enjoy your weekend with the grandkids.

Just about finished with the laundry and cleaning of the house. Going grocery shopping and then home to finish getting stuff together for the weekend trip.
