I saw online someone in the past made a really cute page titled "official cookie taster" and had pictures with rating of which ones were the favorites.

Holiday packaging from stores or online orders.

A few kids Christmas art projects sized down.

We don't have kids so we do letters to Santa from our pup's. I have a paw print stamp that they "sign" them with. Kinda silly, but it's fun to watch people read them when they look at my album.

Holiday beverages... I always buy this tea from Stash called Christmas Morning tea. Celestial Seasonings always does some holiday flavors. Oh! And Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts always have fun holiday flavors too.

Anyone thinking about covering the Mayan calendar ending? My 10 yo DS was talking about is again today. Seems like the boys at his school are constantly talking about it.

I don't think about the Mayans much. Too many "the world is ending" things that have passed thru my long life.

I like finding out what the most valuable tradition is for each of my very small family. My grown sons are not very helpful but I always ask anyway.

Thinking about some things we actually did in early and mid December last year.

1. Picking out the tree
2. Christmas concerts
3. Christmas parties
4. December traditions celebrated by other cultures in my city, but not by me

And if I had done a separate album for all of December last year, it also would have had a few pages not related to the holidays at all. This year my "December, Not Necessarily Daily" album will have some of that, I bet.

I have a toddler, so of course I will have the ubiquitous Santa picture. However, we make it a tradition to see Santa Come By Sea, so it's a fun picture.

~Christmas Movies
~Christmas Music - and how I play it (computer, phone, etc.) I remember my mom pulling out her records every Thanksgiving to play. I'm sure my child will be using a different medium to listen.
~Favorite Christmas Movies
~Putting up the nativity
~Christmas Stockings
~Milk and Cookies - I plan to include a recipe because we'll make the cookies
~Christmas lights
~Decorations
~Shopping
~Christmas Lists - again, how they are made. My DH has an Amazon one, my kid will be doing a paper one
~Sitting by the Christmas tree - that's my favorite part. All the lights off except the tree, and just chilling and reading.
~New Ornaments (tradition)
~Family Picture

I figure 13 planned is a good starting spot. The rest can just happen.

the year i did december daily, i took pics of (not in this order):

1. our first snow (dec. 1) - couldn't have been more perfect. lol...
2. the tree
3. the display of candles i set up
4. the presents wrapped under the tree
5. dh opening presents at his parents'
6. thor and dag - several pics of each - them "opening" their presents, playing under the tree, in the box that the tree belonged in when we took it down, etc.

i'll add more as i think of them...

I always include anything natural or outdoorsy. I love our trees in the front yard - the evergreens in the late afternoon light, the shapes that leafless trees form, the cardinals, the other chickadees at the feeder, the sunlight differences, etc.

I like to include a thought or two from Christmas past. Like I use a metal baking cup when baking that used to be my mums. And a photo of the grandkids from a couple of years ago to show how much they've changed. Just ideas.

This is my first year and like MTCANUK I am going to do partial album of Christmas memories and things that are in the present. Since we have an empty nest I don't have the bustle of little ones and all that goes with it during this season. I know I will be doing one page of memorabilia from 1945 that I just got from my dads estate. It is him spending Christmas in occupied Germany after the war and going to church services, going to a special dinner put on by organizations and attending the USO show with Bob Hope , the Andrews sisters, and other celebrities. I have the programs from the church service, and the USO show and the menu from the dinner along with his letter home.

I'm doing something a bit different. An advent activity calendar with different activities for our family to do each day and then documenting those activities in my December Daily.

Gingerbread house decorating
Baking cookies
Coloring Christmas pictures
Visit with Santa
Christmas parties
Christmas crafts

My children are 1 and 4 so I can't really do the surveys with them and ask their favorites. Not both of them, anyway. So instead we'll be trying this. It's my first ever DD, so trial and error await!

I looked back through past DD and I love seeing what cards I mailed out.So I will include what our Christmas card looked like for that year.

I love all the other ideas mentioned.
