Dang all that paper and those albums were heavy! So glad it's done. I have a fabulous scrap area in the new house with lots of natural light. I'm really hoping it gets me scrapbooking regularly again.

Just went through this myself. My poor DH, I just had back surgery and) can't really lift anything (although I did, and my surgeon gave me "the look" today at my follow-up exam. I could hear him and his buddy cursing under their breath as they moved my ArtBin boxes filled with paper.

I know it! I got booted out of my office while they do a bathroom addition and recreate a huge room into a media room. Packing it all up and moving it was a nightmare. It is now lining my hall and it is driving me crazy!!! I know that after it is all done, I will have lots of space and new storage, more room, etc. But for right now....AUGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on your space!!! Excited for you!!!

Oh, girl! I can't imagine moving my scrap space. That really would be the worst room to pack, but it sounds like you have a great new space to arrange and scrap in! Show us pictures when you are done

Just did it myself a few months ago, and it was a flippin' nightmare. It was also the last room I unpacked. Took me almost two weeks to get that room done. But jeez, I am soooo proud!

We are moving to our new house in January and moving my scrapbook room is what I'm dreading the most! But I know once we are moved in I will love it.

Loved moving mine. I didn't find it to be a big deal at all, found lots of stuff that had been misplaced in the wrong cabinet too. Did a little purging, worked out great.

I highly recommend getting boxes from the liquor store. Wine cases are made to carry a lot of weight, you can fit paper in them, and they are not so big that you will accidently make them 50 pounds.

I'm doing it right now, it's amazing how many boxes it took to pack my scrapbook room alone. I do enjoy going through everything & the idea of decorating my new studio!

We move in two weeks & dh said we are going to move all my paper ourselves before the actual move day. I asked if he meant so we spare the moving guys or so we protect my paper.

I just did this same thing. The movers will tell you that my studio was the worst to move out of the whole house! I still haven't finished unpacking it. It is so overwhelming! Have fun getting it set up! I need to purge more, and that's what's so time consuming and overwhelming.

Feeling the pain. We've moved so many times and my scrap stuff always holds a certain amount of dread for me when we have to get it packed and moved. I just moved some stuff internationally, thank goodness it wasn't much, but yep, its heavy stuff.

We'll be moving it all again in the next 3-6 months or so, right now my entire studio is shoved into one island in the living room, in a box under our bed and in a storage unit.

Congrats on your new place! It will be great once you get it all done and organized in your new space.

It is a pain but fun at the same time...the perfect time to purge your supplies, reorganize your stuff, and just reacquaint yourself with what you have.

Enjoy and good luck!

Girl I totally feel your pain!

I just moved as well and we didn't hire movers. It wasn't just that the boxes were so heavy and there were so many, but I have the extra large expedit shelf and that thing was a total PITA to get upstairs in the new house! I didn't think I had THAT much stuff because my room never looked overly crowded. Well that is because the majority of it all fits on that one huge expedit.

The new scraproom is the fullest room in the new house

Good luck with packing everything carefully. I number every box and put a description of whats in the box across from the number. This really helps with locating things quickly. We've been here for 10 yrs , but if we move again I would definitely use the same system. People think I'm anal until they need me to locate something and I can put my hands on it within minutes. Have fun in your new space and don't forget to upload pics!

I've done that before and it was a total PITA. Having a great new scraproom will make it so worth the trouble. Have fun creating in your new space.

i just moved too and for the first time have my very own designated scrap space! hooray! gosh there were a lot of boxes and bags and bits! oh my! i'm looking forward to purging and reorganizing when i have the time (when will that be?!). right now it's still in disaster mode, mainly because a friend is going to sell me her old library table (to house my cameo, sewing machine, printer, etc.), but hasn't yet. such disarray. but it is SO exciting to have my own space and i'm trying to focus on that fact and know that even if it takes 10 years, the process of getting it just right and awesome will be a fun one. meanwhile, scrap on!

Emptied mine last year at this time because it desperately needed new flooring and paint...dh made me some built-ins and totally upgraded the lighting...so it was totally worth it. But seeing HOW MUCH STUFF I had spread ALL over my family room floor was a real wakeup call! I purged by about half while putting it back to rights, which took me weeks!

So happy moving, it will be worth it, but remembering the process I went through makes me vow to 1) purge often and 2) die in this house!

I moved three weeks ago. I procrastinated on packing my scrap room. Well, during the move I hurt my back (degenerative disc - major pain!) and my husband had to pack my room with the movers waiting on his heels. (Sigh..) It's all just thrown into boxes -- not the way I would have ever packed it! But at that point in time, I was just grateful that he was packing it for me. Now it's all in boxes while we're renting and building. Oh, how I dream of having a scraproom again...! Browsing rooms on Pinterest is what I do now, planning my new room come Spring/Summer! Have fun unpacking and setting up your lovely room!

My house is on the market and my scraproom is the only room in the house not clutter free and super clean and sooo not looking forward to packing everything up when the time comes!
