If you have one: Doesn't the glare from a glass table top drive you nuts?
I can't even stand cutting along a pencil line because of the glare on the graphite.

Yes I have one, and no, it doesn't bother me.
Why? |

I used to work on a glass top. There was dark wood under it too and I never had a problem with glare.
Maybe your light source is at the wrong angle |

I've never even noticed glare but my tabletop is clear glass with a black design in the glass (ikea) plus I usually have a craft mat down. |

I don't have a glass table top but I sure wish I did. So much easier to keep clean! |

I had one and when it was delivered he asked if we wanted it reflective or non-reflective side up. I had no idea what he meant, but he showed me that one side of the glass was treated to be non-reflective (like eye glasses) and one was not. See if yours is that way, too! |

Why?
Because I want one but I want to know if anyone has problems with glare.

You know, now that you say that, I think I chose a treated glass top, too. I had glass cut for the top of my white Expedit desk, and I love the way it looks.
I used to scrap at a glass-top dining table, and it never posed a problem, either.
Because I want one but I want to know if anyone has problems with glare.
Got it. I haven't had any problems, and I have three lamps shining right on it. But, I also didn't/don't have any problem with the 2Peas redesign or the new McDonald's white menu boards - both of which I've been told make people's eyes bleed - so maybe I'm not the best person to give an opinion! |

I have glass on top of a dark wood desk, and love it. I do have one pendant light that causes a glare as it hangs right over the desk, but its in the corner...so this is where my die cutting machine lives. I love that glass is sooooooo easy to clean up...I have no fear when stamping, spraying, painting, etc.

I have a glass mat, but my workspace is small so that's about all I work on. There's glare, sometimes, but I have an OttLight that can be shoved around in any direction as my secondary light source and under counter lights as my main. The under counter ones are pretty dim, and the OttLight can be moved anywhere if it is creating a glare. |

I started with glass for the clean-up ease already mentioned. I had a bit of a problem in the evenings due to glare from overhead lights so I swopped to granite- is that an option? I am a also a klutz and justified the swop because I was afraid of shattering the glass- irrational with toughened glass, but I still had that residual nervousness.

I used to have a glass desk, I had a craft mat on it so I never had the glare issue. I had that desk for years and years and it served me well but in the end young children and such large amounts of cheap glass was freaking me out so I am now using an old table, they are really easy to keep clean. |
