I second what Nancy said! Absolutley beautiful layouts! The templates add so much more "life" to the page! I so wish I could explain myself better, but that was the first thing that came to mind!

Forgot to add, I have some of the Pages by Design too and never used them! Guess I should pair them with my Kiwi templates.

I'm one that enjoys cutting. I LOVE to fussy cut, so cutting the templates is right up my alley. It's relaxing to me. I use Cutterbee scissors with the precision point and I've not had too much trouble getting things cut right. The only time I've noticed is if my lighting isn't so great. Then, I have trouble following my pencil line.

I actually love the fussy cutting with the templates as well. Its the mindless part of the project I would say.
Do you all do your lines on the backside of the paper? I definitely find that saves me stress if I don't cut perfectly and I can use a pen and not worry about it.

@Akihasmomma - I trace on the backs when I can and I invested in a good eraser to get off any pencil lines when I trace on the front. I just have to keep reminding myself to flip the template when I trace on the back of the paper. I have messed up the orientation of my planned design a number of times by forgetting this step.

@nancyrd - Thanks!

@scraplizard - I use the Tim Holtz scissors. Are the cutterbees smaller pointed than those?

@slyn11 - Yeah, I have to take extra care to flip the templates. I have also used a template to create a mirror image on two sides of a layout many times and always have to think about how to orient my templates so my patterns go in the same direction!

Slyn, I'm not sure because I'm not familiar with the Tim Holtz scissors. I would think that they are about the same. The cutterbee has a very fine point that is chiseled (unsure if that's the correct terminology, but you get the idea!)down at the end. It's so fine that I actually watch the point while I cut and line it up with my line. Works most everytime!

I used pen on the right side and cut on the line and with the inking, I didn't even notice the pen. Thanks for the wonderful comments! I am totally hooked on these now. I need to get more templates to add more pizzazz. lol.

I went through the check list on their site and I think I have almost all the sets. I don't know how I ever managed to accumulate that many so fast. There are a few of the large size accessory sets I don't have though. I am thinking I might get Sweetheart and Nature.

Well, I tried another layout. This time I wanted to use a scallop border, and I did NOT want to hand cut it.

So after about half and hour of fiddling with my Gypsy to make a 12 inch scalloped border I attempted to cut it out with my Cricut. The first time I place my paper wrong (I was using a 24 inch mat to be able to cut a full 12 inches border). So it was no good. Then I cut one that was good. The third cut snagged because I didn't secure the paper and it came loose. Fourth cut succeeded and I got my second border. I wasted half a page of paper, and I don't want to say how long it took. Maybe I should have just traced and hand-cut! (But I will say the scallops have perfectly smooth edges.)

Oh sorry those scallops were giving you a tough time Sophikins. I had to make 150 programs for a woman's 100th birthday party last year and I chose a scallop border design. I gave my cricut quite the work out! I have a file saved on my gypsy of scallop borders, after I finally got them all figured out. How did your layout turn out in in the end?

Kstpeter - This sale makes wish I had waited to buy many of my sets. What a great deal!

I will probably have to work that day and with my luck, the "Select" designer templates will be sold out. I can't buy bundles because I already have about half of everything except the card and 8" templates. I so hope what is there will be something I don't already have! I was so hoping they would have 20% off everything!

Excited for the sale. I only have a handful of templates that I had won previously and am anxious to get more.

I also completed another layout today using some border templates to add layering to the base of my layout.

Thanks for all the info and reviews! Has anyone used these who is not a 12x12 scrapper? I primarily do 8.5x11, but also could use templates for cards / 4x6 slots in divided protectors or my 8x8 December Daily.

Scrappingmyadventure- the first set I bought were the minis. They are 8" long...I used them for an 8x8 album. I also use them on 8.5x11 pages and 12x12. Then I bought the card sets. I have made cards for project life using them. I posted pictures in the other thread but I will post them here too. The sets will absolutely work for what you mentioned. At the expo the KLD staff...I think Susan...showed me how to adapt the 8" template and create longer borders...like 8.5 or 9". They are versatile.

TWINSPLUSONE- The bundle sets on their site are in the store. There are sets under each category or you can find them in a category of their own called complete sets.

Last night I made a layout after work...took me about 2 hours including paper selection. That is pretty awesome for me when it used to take me a week.

Pictures that I said I would post to this thread.

I made 4x6 Project Life cards using my card border templates and tiny accessories sets.

I have made a number of 8x10 and 8.5x11 framed layouts using my mini borders template sets (they are 8" long)

I have 5 borders yet to get, several of the large accessories and a few of the tiny accessories. I think I will pretty much miss out on the sale as I'm EST and I think I will already be at work and won't be able to access the sale, especially the 30% off before noon MST. I'll check when I get home, but that usually isn't until 6pm EST. Not sure what that would be MST. I feel so bad because I really planned on purchasing about $100 worth of stuff!

Mountain time is two hours behind EST...so if it is 10AM EST it is 8AM MST.

So if the sale starts 7AM MST then it will be 9AM EST.

I did a few layouts this holiday weekend, but was mostly a lazy couch potato.

I am working from home tomorrow, so I'm glad I can shop the sale. Just have to download the DT checklist so I can start keeping track of what I have and want to order!

Here is a link to the STORE

The sale is not starting until 7am MST so the prices have not changed yet. Click the red arrows to see more categories...there is one for bundles and complete sets. Also there are bundles listed within each category as well.

I did notice a number of bundles are out of stock. I wonder if they will be putting them back up for the sale (they have in the past). I would still check the site in the morning to be sure.

I put in my first order too! I really wanted to do the border bundle as it is such a great deal this morning, but couldn't justify that chuck of change. I got two borders, and three accessories and that was quite a bit of $$ as it was.

I do have a question about the video on Kiwi's site. She says it helps the borders to stand out if you ink the edges. What is she using to do that? It looks like a fingertip ink pad of some sort?

I managed to get my order in at 9:00 this morning using my iphone. I ordered the border bundle, the rings, sweetheart and tiny bracket and tiny shapes. They are for Christmas from my DH so I won't be able to have them till then. I can't wait. I am so excited.

Slyn11: your flower is gorgeous. You are so talented with these templates! Very inspiring. I saw several of your layouts in the gallery this weekend and they are all beautiful!

I stayed up last night and wrote everything down that I wanted. I did this so I could stay home an extra hour to get in on the sale. I got most everything that I wanted ($107). I didn't think the Tiny Nature set was on sale and then I saw it after I had placed my order. Oh well...there's always next time! BTW, as of today, I will have all the borders except Happy Trails! I will have all the tiny accessories except Wacky and the Tags! I'm pretty happy!

@scrappycass - Thank you! You are so sweet.

@chrispea - I know exactly how you feel. I was the same and very hesitant about buying the templates. SO glad I did though. They were a great investment for me.

@scraplizard - Glad you got all you wanted....almost. I am pretty much have all the sets I want, I like having options.

Now time for us all to get creating! I made a youtube tutorial using my templates for a project and tonight I think might make another. Having fun with them,
