Hi peas I'm about to start my first ever December daily! (YAY!) and I'm thinking I should do a 6x8 size or similar, however I'm not sure whether a landscape or portrait orientation would be better? What do you find is best? Thanks!

Funny I was just thinking about this! I bought the Ali DD SC kit that comes with a 4x6 landscape album - and just realized that I can't fit in pics of a vertical Christmas tree! who takes a picture of tree horizontally?
Yes I could go 2 small 2x3 pics side by side - but I want a full page of my Christmas tree! Waaaah!

I don't like smaller albums because I like to fit bigger pictures, bags, brochures, etc so I found like 8 1/2x11 or 8x8 albums best.

Mine will be 6x6, so journaling on one page and a 4x6 photo on the other. As for the size you are doing, I would go with portrait too. I just think it would be awkward to keep turning it when viewing. You are right about the tree photos!

My first two December Daily's were made with the idea of using horizontal photos. For the vertical photos, I ended up adding to the album by creating more small pages. I would take a piece of cardstock, cut it to fit a vertical photo, make sure to adjust the size to add holes so I could add it to my album, and then put it in between my day. On the back side (or front, depending on where I put my photo), I would add another decorative element or more journaling. Both those albums were 6x6.

This year I am doing a 6x8 album using Simple Stories page protectors so there is lots of space for vertical photos, though they are not the full size 4x6's. I'll probably end up adjust the same was as I did before though I haven't gotten that far in my plan since I want them in page protectors.

Hope all that makes sense!

Good luck! This is my favorite project of the year.

With a 6x8 album, you can use ith direction. Just add a piece of card stock to fit the different direction. I always use both directions.

I posted a video of what I am using HERE. I am planning on using an assortment of protectors that will fit in a 8x8 album.

I'm going to be using the 4x6 page protectors that all go in the horizontal direction. I plan to put two pics side by side in each slot, so I will plan to take all my pics in the vertical position to make it easier.
