Help! I can't seem to make a drcision, ugh. I currently have a cricut expression. I have the gypsy as well. I am going to sell my gypsy, but I have to sell the carts with it. Most of my favorites are linked, like my Mickey font. I'm irritated that Provo craft hasn't enabled us to be able to unlink a cartridge. I don't care if I can't link it again because I'll never buy another gypsy. I'm either going to keep my expression and replace the few ( and I mean few) cartridges I really like, or I'm selling everything cricut and getting a Silhouette Cameo. I do have the sizzix eclips. What would you do?
Thank you!

you DON'T have to sell the carts with the gypsy it should be the correct way but NOBODY does it... everyone sell their gypsy with the link carts in it BUT NOT the physical carts so is really your decision if you want to sell them with it but again you don't have to... if i decide to sell mine which im thinking i will sell with the 50 carts linked BUT NOT my physical carts. HTH

I had it listed on eBay to sell without the actual cartridges and at the request of Provo Craft my auction was removed.

It made me really mad because there were other people who had already sold theirs without the cartridges and there were other auctions without the cartridges.

if Provo craft sees the auction they will ask you to remove it but again nobody sells their actual cartridges with the gypsy i was told to do listing on eBay from Friday night to Sunday and then remove them because PC monitor eBay on the week days no weekend you could also list on the boards , fb and Craigslist

I probably can't do it on eBay again, but I'll try somewhere else.

When I was researching on how much to sell my Gypsy on eBay I had seen where some auctions had been deleted because of PC. I went ahead and listed my Gypsy without selling the linked cartridges. It was successful so maybe you can try again in a few days or so. Also, just an FYI, there is a market for the Gypsy w/o the cartridges.

Disney font can be downloaded onto your computer from the Internet for free, there is also some other Mickey fonts that are really cute. As for other Disney character cut outs, locate an image online and bring it I into the silhouette software and change it to what you want. It's easy and make take some time, but well worth it.

Why do you want to buy a Silhouette if you have the Eclips?

There is a way you can cut shapes from the Silhouette store on the Eclips.

I had both machines, and I prefer the Eclips over the Cameo.

This is what I'm asking for. I want opinions and advice. Diane, what do you like better about the sizzix? I can't sell my gypsy on eBay even with the cartridges unless I have permission. If I could keep the carts and just sell the gypsy,in would.

In my experience the Eclips is more consistent. I can't remember a time that I cut something with the Eclips and had to re-cut the shape because the machine didn't cut cleanly. With my Cameo, I had to re-cut shapes quite frequently.

Here's a few other things I like better about the Eclips:

The Eclips can cut thin chipboard; the Cameo isn't meant to do this.

I like to run my cardstock through my xyron and then cut it in my Eclips, especially thin titles or intricate diecuts. My Cameo had a difficult time cutting this. The Eclips cuts this effortlessly.

The Eclips can be used with computer software (like the Cameo can) or with cartridges. You do have to buy the software (Scal) separately, but it is well worth it.

I also don't like that Silhouette went out of their way to make the file format of their shapes proprietary. If I remember correctly, you have to purchase the designer software for the Cameo in order to use SVG shapes.

Thank you Diane. I did a ton of research before I bought the eclips. I appreciate your advice.

Diane
I have just purchased the sizzix eclips to add to my cricut machines because I am afraid that one of the updates will cause me to lose the ability to use SCAL!! So far I am loving the way that the eclips cuts!

How can you use the silhouette shapes in the eclips?
