As soon as I took the "daily" concept out of my "December" album, I couldn't wait to get started!

I think I let the pressure of how things are "supposed" to be get to me. Sure enough, once I really adjusted my thinking on this, I became super excited, not only about this year's album, but about finally completing last year as well!

I don't know how ppl do the dailies (and do them everybday!) when everything else gets busier that time, too. I mean, I get that it's pre-packed and ready to just add photos and journaling, but it just seems like a lot to be doing when time is so limited. And I don't even have kids!

I was thinking the same thing this weekend. "Daily" is too much pressure for me, LOL! I'm super busy as it is and the holidays just make it busier.

I'm going to pre-assemble some pages and see how that goes. My thought is it's more like "the 25 days of Christmas" or something. I just want to capture the things that make our holidays special, in roughly the order they occur. Throw in some memories of past years, favorite songs, etc.

Hopefully that plan will work! Because you're right, it is a relief of sorts from the pressure

Is this an instrument of torture or communication?

I'm considering the JOURNAL YOUR CHRISTMAS by Shimelle class. I think it's more do able for me then an everyday event page.

Isn't that a great realization to come to? I've done it for two years and kind of feel like I've covered a lot of the traditions and memories. This year my husband and I moved to a new small apartment and won't be doing any decorating or anything and there will be very little to photograph on a daily basis, so I'm just doing it as sort of a general holiday album from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

You put it into words for me perfectly. I started a DD last year, but it needs to be finished. I started to let go of that pressure a few years ago in scrapbooking & it's freeing, but I was still hung up on DD & project life etc.

I am right there with you all. The past 2 years I have done my version, which is more of a December memory book. Then I don't pressure myself about having to make sure there is a photo every day. Works better for me. Still have December memories, but not the stress!!!!

Good for you. I'm going to see how it goes, and also be fine with it if it's not daily. It's recording it that matters. No one will care if I missed a day 50 years from now. I'm sure they'll truly appreciate whatever I cover. I know I'd love to look back at my mom, grandma, and great grandma's Christmas traditions.

This is the entire concept behind my Seasonal Storytelling class!

I tried the daily concept last year and couldn't finish-and it stressed me out. My class looks at 4 different ways of approaching a season, such as winter, that has lots of memories. It focuses on making an album that captures everything important and memorable and allows you to create happily while you enjoy living those memories without stress! I hope you check it out!

Oh yeah, there's no way I'd ever keep up with a daily album! Good for you for making it work for YOU and taking the pressure off!

I have so little time to scrap in December I don't even try to work on my Christmas album on a daily basis. I just write down what photos I took and what we did each day in a daily planner, then have all the photos printed the first of January. I finished last years album in February. Worked great for me and no stress at all.

I had been thinking about this as well. I think that's what I will do next year. This year, I'm completing last year's daily! I do have all the photos and documentation for each day last December, just need to get it in the album and journal it.

Shimelle's JYC changed the way I think about "daily." If I don't have a photo for that day I can just add my favorite Christmas carols, or the weather outside, or just journal about my feeling on the season. I can't do a daily photo project, but a daily entry in the DD is perfectly possible for me.

I completely agree!! As I continue to build my base pages, I'm having a hard time "sticking" to a daily format. I still don't think I'll go past the 25th, but I'm really stoked about creating base pages for all the activities we do

I figure I can use a date stamp to make note of the actual day
