I don't think she can, I imagine it's a trademark or something of 2 Peas. When Nichol briefly started up her start to finish series on her blog in January, she had to rename it, she couldn't call it start to finish since that's what the 2 Peas series had been called. Guess it depends on contracts, but ..?

Aw that really makes me sad, I absolutely love the glitter girl videos and look forward to them every week.. and in fact watching those videos earlier this year were my main source of information as I was starting out with this hobby. Really hope Shimelle will continue to do something like that here next year, as well as her paid classes (which I do take) as it's great having a weekly dose of Shimelle!

I'd love to see a weekly video with projects, tips, etc. using the Cameo. I know that's a little selfish because not everyone ones a Cameo, or even an electric die cut machine, but something along those lines would be great.
I'd also love to see another weekly stamping/scrapbooking class. I really miss Nichol's stamping videos so something along those lines would rock.

I'm a big fan of anything Jen, Nancy, and Shimelle. I hope they continue teaching in some capacity!
I miss Nichol's videos, too. I've been re-watching some and re-reading the stamping class PDFs. I wrote down everything she did with stamps and I'm going to make a little jar with the ideas in it so I can 'draw some inspiration' for my layouts.

Can I just pop in here and say there is no need to jump to conclusions? That's the end date for 2012 classes because it's the end of 2012, and there is really nothing more to read into it than that.
I'll say what I've said before: if there are scrappers you want to see more here (or continue to see), then shop from their projects and share their projects with others. The bottom line is always if scrappers aren't shopping here at Two Peas, the cool extras can't happen. (I hate to say this, but there has been a lot of linking to other retailers on the board recently. To think anyone in this community would actively encourage the peas to shop elsewhere can hurt. Two Peas is a shop that treats its contributors well and I hope they can continue to offer the fabulous free education programme - but I know the bottom line means shopping enables all that free goodness!)
I don't work for Studio Calico. I am in the middle of a video series on my blog using their kits for November and I guest designed back in July. There is no big secret plan there or anywhere else - so please understand these rumours start very quickly.
Anyway, don't panic and keep shopping and yes, make requests if there is something you would love to see in 2013.

I would love to see another stamping series, and in general I love the format of weekly videos showing a step-by-step process for some project (card or LO) that talks through some of the reasons behind the decisions the designer made (not just "put the triangle paper here" but the kind of narration all the Garden Girl videos have of "and then I realized I wanted some pink because I needed to balance that other area there..." . These kinds of narrations have been SO helpful to my scrapbooking learning & process!
I also love the general idea of Glitter Girl's videos taking on a Q&A approach from issues that arise in questions people have - that's a yearly series that doesn't take necessarily picking a theme in advance but is very responsive to what people are wondering about at the time, which has been particularly helpful with issues like "how do I incorporate this or that trend?" (which we can't even predict now what they'll be!) or
I have absolutely spent buckets more $$$ here since discovering Glitter Girl videos in August I don't often fill my cart from the product links at the end of a project, though. Would it work to add something in my order comment section, I wonder? e.g. "picked the MME stickers and labels b/c of Glitter Girl video ____ when I saw them used in awesome clustered embellishments"?

So thank you Glitter Girl, and all of the other talented Garden Girls and members who continue to share their knowledge and inspiration with us. And thank you 2 Peas for providing us with so much more than an online store--I (and my credit card) look forward to supporting you in 2013!

I've done my share of shopping for sure. Waiting any day now for my call lol. I do need to start using the links though. As I don't usually purchase the same day as the video, I just go to the main shop to purchase everything. In the future I'll make an effort to go to the Garden Girls pages that I watched and buy what I need using their links and get everything else in the store.
I'd love if Glitter Girl could continue. If not, I'd be happy with anything that involved Shimelle making projects.

This is me. I haven't scrapbooked for YEARS but this year am doing cards, project life and some scrappy stuff. Why the change? Partially the new color schemes, partially the kiddos are getting older and MOSTLY because I have watched GG videos over and over and over. I have been able to learn how "I" like to do scrapbooking and that has changed how I spend.
This wouldn't have happened without GG videos. I have never clicked on a link after a video (didn't think to), but bought items ONLY because of GG Videos. I am still pouting that FabRips (saw in a video on 2ps) in my preferred design was sold out by the time I had ever heard of it
I understand needing to quantify where your efforts are going, but I can't imagine that product link clicks is a good one to use. Too many variables. I might watch a video today (while kids are in quiet time) and get distracted with the day and search tomorrow morning while making breakfast for the product I saw.
I wouldn't have seen it without the video, but I didn't click the product link, I searched for it instead.

I shop online exclusively at Two Peas, and my purchases are wholly inspired by GG. I agree with all the previous posts though. I usually wait a day or two to start filling my cart to let all her awesome ideas and techniques percolate. I go through my photos to see what color schemes I need, I shop directly from the store because I end up buying a lot more of the collections she uses, but it's all because of GG inspiration. All of my purchases are. I love my Glitter Girl!

Not to be overly snarky, but I want to see more Glitter Girl. I like being able to ask a question, or follow the questions of others on board, and then see a video about it in Shimelle's cool and calm teaching style. She talks like a normal person, answers the question fully and in a way that can cover many styles of scrapping, and then creates a project real time that fits in with the theme. What's better than that? Hers are the only vids I watch here and come away completely satisfied, inspired, and ready to create.

Tracking, yes, but Shimelle told me (since we don't really have the same product style) that just buying here helps. And the liking, commenting, and participating in the challenges helps. I mean, we could all flood the challenges each week with our creations, yes? That'd show how much she's inspiring us. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to pick up a Crate Paper collection pack because Shimelle used it, they're not my style, but if I create something with Echo Park and put it in the challenge that's gotta show she's helped me use my stuff! Since these seems to be a thread for Glitter Girl teaching ideas...
I would love to see some more classes with stamping techniques. I learned so much (and bought lots of stuff) from the Thinking Inking classes. How about getting someone else to show their stamping techniques.
The current Friday card series is fun, but often the stamping used there is just pretty basic.
Perhaps an "advanced school" for using stamps/inks/paints and all that goodness? (I personally think that is one reason why Nichol's glasses were so great - it not only combined stamping with scrapping in a big way, but she also would show fun techniques with her stamping!)
Oh and the idea of Glitter Girl (or someone) answering current questions from the message board is FABULOUS! Shimelle is fantastic at it, perhaps another Garden Girl could do something similar for questions on papercrafting techniques in general (both stamping and scrapping)?

Something geared toward simple, easy, maybe using the EP Photo Freedom stuff, or something even geared towards beginners. I have been scrapping for awhile, but I recognize that we need to encourage more NEW scrappers in order to maintain the paper/product companies so that our products will continue to be easily available.
I would also like to see a series on "finding your style". That could maybe help a lot of us.

Oops: in trying to close pandora's box, I may have opened a can of worms! Not to worry - let me see if I can help answer some of these questions!

Would it work to add something in my order comment section, I wonder? e.g. "picked the MME stickers and labels b/c of Glitter Girl video ____ when I saw them used in awesome clustered embellishments"?
YAY and thank you - I am so happy to hear so many of you are shopping here at Two Peas. We know there are multiple ways that you shop and we do take this into account. Shopping directly from a product page is the most direct way we see those sales, but of course we can make a good guess if something is featured in a video or Garden project and then sells really well. You don't really need to leave a note (though I always like to leave funny notes in comment sections when I order online, like 'please sing and dance while pulling this order') and honestly no matter how you shop here is awesome. All Two Peas shopping is good shopping! It's just a case that purchasing from any video/Garden project page is the most obvious way we can see that project inspired you to make a purchase. I hope that makes sense.
Well, my credit card and I have surely done our part to support 2 Peas this year--I saw (and purchased) many a product after watching Glitter Girl do her thing with layering and embellishments . I really hope Shimelle continues to make videos for 2 Peas--I have learned so much and am enjoying this hobby more than ever
I just wanted to say thank you so much for this comment. That last bit made my heart very happy. I love scrapbooking more every single day.
So, YO 2 PEAS, I AM BUYING BECAUSE OF GLITTER GIRL. Just trying to speak up so they know!! Would it help if we drop them a seperate note with our order? I want her to get the credit, but I want to pick my own thing.
My real answer is that you don't need to send a note, but I love the idea of you sending a note that starts YO 2 PEAS, so you know what? You can send a note. You are awesome. Yo.
I have been able to learn how "I" like to do scrapbooking and that has changed how I spend.
This wouldn't have happened without GG videos.
Completely different from YO 2 PEAS, but also completely awesome. Thank you, and I'm so happy you're making scrapping work in the very best way for YOU.
I understand needing to quantify where your efforts are going, but I can't imagine that product link clicks is a good one to use. Too many variables. I might watch a video today (while kids are in quiet time) and get distracted with the day and search tomorrow morning while making breakfast for the product I saw.
Yep, we know that. 'We' meaning both myself and the management here at Two Peas. All shopping is good shopping. It's just that shopping from the project page is the most direct way, so that's why it helps support the projects you see. Two Peas can see all sorts of information in their inventory, and they have some smart cookies at Two Peas HQ, so please don't panic. Shop in any way that makes you happy.
Just wondering if she gets paid ?????
Im thinking I will get some slack for that question tho
While I can hardly share the details of my contract with Two Peas, I don't think there is a big secret here if you think about it. Scrapbooking is my full-time job. (I have an MA in English Literature and was Head of English in a secondary school for many years - so I had a 'proper career' as I tend to jokingly explain. In 2007, I took a year off because my scrapbooking work was picking up at the same time that the school I was working in was taking some very big turns in a direction I did not support. It was like the world was telling me a year of crafting as a job was what I was supposed to do. But that was more than five years ago now, and aside from going back to help one of my old classes who lost their teacher right before their exams, I've never been back to that traditional job.) I do not work for free and I do not work for paper, and I don't believe anyone who does serious work in their industry should ever have to work without fair compensation. All the contributors to my classes and blog are paid for their work. The nurse at my doctor's office is one of the most amazing ladies ever with a real passion for her work and just one of those people who is genuinely happy to help with whatever she can, right? I would never for two seconds think she shouldn't be paid just because she likes her job. I love my job!!! But I also have bills to pay, so I take jobs that help that. I hope that sounds reasonable.
I'm guessing two peas need u to shop from what she uses after watching that video ( not when it's on clearance and/or on sale)
I'll say it again: all shopping is good shopping. Glitter Girl usually tries really hard to include some new and some sale product in each adventure. Of course, the sale product will disappear from the shop quicker since it's already partly past its shelf life compared to something brand new. Glitter Girl loves a bargain as much as anyone, but she also knows sometimes you need to grab something when it's new if you love it, because it might disappear before you come back to click the order button. Fair enough?
Wonder if 2peas would consider adding a little radial button you can click when you buy something bc of a garden girl.
This is an awesome idea I will pass on to my boss.
Not to be overly snarky, but I want to see more Glitter Girl.
Thank you! So glad you like the format and everything.
Tracking, yes, but Shimelle told me (since we don't really have the same product style) that just buying here helps. And the liking, commenting, and participating in the challenges helps. Yes, EXACTLY to all of this. I definitely want you to buy what YOU like and will use!!! Liking, commenting, participating and sharing helps a lot! I get one or two emails every week still at this point in the year with someone who writes to say they just discovered Glitter Girl. There are plenty of scrapbookers who don't know about the adventures, or Memory Keeping Mondays (or cardmakers who don't know about Finally Friday) and so on... share things with friends and help spread the word - wherever you talk about scrapbooking (be that Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, at real live crops, in emails with friends, whatever it might be) share your favourite stuff. (You know, that goes for free stuff wherever you find it on the internet. If you like the Paperclipping Roundtable, tell a friend to subscribe in iTunes. If you take an awesome class somewhere, tell someone. But also non-scrappy things like trying a recipe or a home website or whatever it is that floats your boat: the power of the internet lies in SHARING. Tell a friend, change the world. If I had a car, that would be my bumper sticker, I think!)
I have earned a customer loyalty badge here so what does that tell you???
It tells me you are A BUCKET OF AWESOME. (thanks for shopping here!)
there is no need to jump to conclusions
Oh, come now, we all know that's what peas do best!
Wait, wait: this thread IS on the general scrapping board, right? Whew. Just checkin'.
I hope all that helps a bit! Thank you so much for supporting me, Glitter Girl, the Garden Girls, the Two Peas shop and the entire Two Peas community. I am forever grateful to work with such talented and positive people here, both on the boards and with the designers and management here at the site.

I also hope the either Glitter Girl or Shimelle keep doing weekly videos! I look forward to them every week!
I love Shimelle's design style and she has really helped change the way I scrapbook for the better. I find that so many of my layouts are inspired by Shimelle's designs.

I'm sure Shimelle has something even more awesome in store for us.
If Shimelle isn't going to be doing videos for 2Peas, it's a huge loss for us all.
Please, please don't take Glitter Girl away!!!
JamieH
I love Glitter Girl! And I love step by step layout videos. They are so helpful! And so enabling!
I want more Shimelle and Shannon please!!!
I really liked the start to finish series. It would be great to have an altered art/mixed media class.
And please bring Glitter Girl back.
I also hope the either Glitter Girl or Shimelle keep doing weekly videos! I look forward to them every week!

I just can say: AMEN

I'm right there with you on the Glitter Girl ! I selfishly want her videos to keep going too. Don't you think there are still a lot of dilemmas she could fix?

SHIMELLE....can i just say YOU are a "bucket of awesomeness"?!!!! So kind of you to come on the board and clarify so many things for us. Not to mention your brilliant writing style and sense of humor!
I have taken MANY of your classes offered at your website, and not once, have i been disappointed! I'm sure whatever you give us next will be just as brilliant as GG has been! ( I actually don't watch each week and save them up so I don't run out of episodes to quickly! )
Thank you 2peas, the GG, and the wonderful community for a home away from home for us! | |

I LOVE glitter girl. I started shopping here again because of her. SHe is so great. I love how she explains in detail why she does what she does. She has taught me how to scrap and not just shop. i now know what I like. She has to come back. I really would also like to see Jen G. do a 12x12 stamp layout class. That would just make my year.
PLEASE 2 PEAS | |

Last year Shimelle did 4x6 Photo Love, which I really enjoyed, got a lot out of, and was sad when that came to an end. But then we got Glitter Girl instead. And as much as I love Glitter Girl, if that series comes to end, I'll be really excited to see what new style of class comes next

^^^This. I took a nice long hiatus from 2p's, and I came back because I happened to see a GG video. I placed my first 2P's order in three years based on a lot of the things that I saw in her videos. I will keep coming back watching and ordering. I hope 2p's plans to keep GG going in 2013.

I'm hoping that 2Peas will continue with some sort of classes/videos from Shimelle,GlitterGirl,Jen,Nancy, or any of the talented GG's here. I have learned so much from watching them! I have to say that GlitterGirl has me trying some things that I would never have thought of and I like it! She's a sb rebel-rouser,that one! 2Peas does offer some amazing videos here and I'm thankful that lots of them are free. And I love the warehouse walks too. Just a great place to be. Maria
