It's a pop culture reference, and I'm just curious if I am the only person who still refers to it on a regular basis.

Anyone?

DH and I occasionally inform each other of changes/additions to our laminated lists.

DH and I went to see Skyfall, and I commented that I might need to put Daniel Craig on my laminated list. He gave me the deer in headlights look, so I had to explain it was from Friends.

The laminated list, if I remember correctly is your top 5 people you are allowed to sleep with if given the opportunity. Your significant other has to agree to it because they're on the list. Something like that. It was the episode where Ross meets Isabella Rossalini and he shows her that she is on his list. It was a good one.

I'm jealous. I haven't seen that particular episode in a looong time, and I watch nearly every night at 10pm. I can watch those shows over and over and over and over again.

Same.

Poor Isabella Rossalini. (isn't that who Ross met after he bumped her from the list?)

Well, sure. Some of the people on the original list either haven't aged well or have become goofy or icky (for example, I'm pretty sure Tom Cruise was on my list in the 90s - now, not so much). They have to be replaced with new blood.

My DH gives me the deer in the headlights look anytime I make a Friends reference. He didn't see many of them because he was at USMA for a large part of the series.

LOL--I know, it was a joke [mostly because of Ross actually getting to meet Isabella Rossellini]. Val Kilmer was on my original list. Bless his heart!

probably one of the best Friends episodes ever.
Of which I've seen every single one at least 3-4 times. Love that show.

I have an unlaminated list in my head. It changes with my mood.

That's funny - this topic came up at an all day scrapbooking event I was at yesterday. One of the women had never heard the term, but she did add Daniel Craig to her list once it was explained.

<SNORT> Now I want to add Matthew McConnehey (SP?) to that list.

I still make Friends and Seinfeld references all the time. In fact, they are just part of my everyday speech now it seems. No one gets it, at least, no one younger than me.

But....but... It will live on! My five year old daughter thinks that when someone sneezes, you are supposed to say "You're so good-lookin!"

Never heard of the laminated list - which makes sense because I've only ever seen a few episodes of Friends.
Not sure if this is an Aussie thing or not, but around here we call it the "celebrity free pass" even if you are in a relationship or married, if you ever meet that celebrity (on your list) your partner gives you a 'free pass' to sleep with them.

Ah - but she wasn't on his list! She was on his original list, and then he changed her out for somebody else (the reason being she was "international" and he'd have way less of a chance of ever meeting her). He explains this to her, and off she goes...

I actually need to "unlaminate" my list. Somebody has to get bumped off to make room for Channing Tatum. But I don't know who it will be.

Yes, I know what it is and even brought it up at my neighborhood wine night last Friday.

Back when my oldest was a Kindergartener (she is now in 8th grade), the first day I volunteered in the classroom, one of the teachers told me all 5 people on her list and the five on her husbands. I thought it was an odd conversation from a teacher at a Catholic School for the first time you are meeting a parent but she ended up being an awesome teacher....
