So I'm tooling around the internet (heh)and up pops a picture of a shirtless Simon Baker. I Simon Baker.

I looked at DH, slapped my hand on the table and said, "I'm out."

I sense impending mayhem.

Not TV but DH and I always quote My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

And Princess Bride. But people usually get those.

OK. Newbie. This is how it works. If your post consists of 80% sanity, 10% stupidity and 10% all kinds of crazy, we immediately focus on the 20% b/c it discredits the 80%.

Us too! He likes to work out in his little wood shop and got a splinter the other day. I told him to put a little Windex on it. My dad was visiting and looked at me like I was crazy, LOL..

I quote Friends pretty often, but it's usually lost on my husband LOL. He wasn't as into that show as I am

Firefly. A lot. And no one gets it, but DH and I find ourselves hilarious every time.

Some favorites:

"Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle."

"Do you know what the chain of command is here? It's the chain I go get and beat you with to show you who's in command."

"I'm so going to the special hell."

My husband LOVES to quote TV and movies! And he's dragged me down with him...
Things heard almost daily at our house:

"Things are rough all over" (Said when someone is complaining and you want them to suck it up, buttercup) from The Unit

"I suggest you grab a rifle and stand a post" (Said when someone is complaining about the job you're doing and won't lift a finger to help) from A Few Good Men

"What do you do?" (Said when you're faced with a tough situation/decision) from the movie Speed.

"You think they're onto us?"
"Shhh... Let me call my attorney"

Arrested Development!

"Well, aren't you just a regular Brad Garrett." (Not an exact quote, but that's how we say it)

"I've made a huge mistake."

"Hey brother (or hermano)"

"I'm getting my stew on!"

". . . 'cause I'm a private detective."

Dr. Who
Star Wars
Star Trek
Cable Guy
Ferris Bueller
Princess Bride
Holy Grail

To name few. Not many of my co-workers get it, but my geek friends do. And hubby...my kids are beginning to get more of our movie/TV zingers.

Two we use a lot are quite recent.

"That's my spot." (from Big Bang) Often said to one of our cats that's constantly stealing our seat when we get up.

"Look at it!" (from a very recent episode of Mike & Molly) But this one is more of a running joke at the office than at home.

Most of my TV quotes would be from The Big Bang Theory or Married with Children. Almost every episode has a funny as hell line in it.
Movies could be anything! But classics would be from Clerks/2, The Boondock Saints, things like that.

We do "chicken pot, chicken pot, chicken pot pie!" all the time too.

From the movie The Other Guys with Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg (Marky Mark), "I'm a peacock, you gotta let me fly!!" I say this randomly and for no reason- around my DH and kids -I don't want to appear crazy.

And also from that movie, the scene about the tuna and the lion (if you've seen it you'll know) at the end of it "Did that go the way you thought it would. Nope."

From TNG Star Trek "make it so"

and Seinfeld all the time

Joey from friends "It's a moo point. Like a cow's opinion. It just doesn't matter."

It was on my fifth birthday that Papa put his hand on my shoulder and said, 'Remember, my son, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.'

Dad is great, he gives us chocolate cake...not from a tv show, but Bill Cosby's stand up.

Whenever someone says "whoa" I have to respond with "horse". It's an obscure reference to a scene in Bones.
I totally get this one. Booth...baby...

I use West Wing quotes all the time. Often I have to whip out Youtube so they can watch it.

"did he have to pay to get in the contest?"

I still say this, it's from Stand By Me, when Gordy tells the story to his friends around the campfire...and 2 of them completely miss the point & ask ridiculous questions.

The above question is followed by "Oh, swell story"

Both seem to be stuck in my brain forever & I say them everytime someone asks something totally random that has nothing to do with the conversation.

From commercials "Know what I mean, Vern?" (Ernest, before movies!)

and a lot of Andy Griffith; "Call the man!" 'Golleeee!'

"The world absolutely needs Woo Girls. If there were no Woo Girls, there would be no 'Girls Gone Wild,' no bachelorette parties, no Las Vegas poolside bars. All of the things that you hold dearest would be gone. The souvenir shot-glass industry would collapse; so would the body-glitter industry -- and, the stretch Hummer rental industry. Tiny cowboy hats would be worn only by tiny cowboys. And when 'Brown- Eyed Girl' would come up on the jukebox, all you would hear ... would be silence .... and 'Brown-Eyed Girl.' But who would 'woo,' ? Who would 'woo'? Would you? Would you ... 'woo'?" B.Stinson

For my entire childhood (and adulthood for that matter!), my dad's line for all occasions: "Missed it by that much". Followed closely by: "Would you believe . . . ?" My children were so excited when I got Get Smart on dvd and they figured out what Grandpa was talking about, lol!

I find a lot of Seinfeld references sneak into my conversations/anecdotes. In fact, our dining room wall is covered with Seinfeld food quotes that I had custom made by Wonderful Graffiti. You can tell pretty quickly if a guest is a Seinfeld fan or not by the way they react to the wall.

LOL - My DS and I say this all the time! We quote Andy all the time.

XH and I used to quote "Becket" all the time. My favorite "Swords in fist, rumps in the saddle. Death to the Saxon scum, it's God's will, it's God's will!" I use this when I need to get busy doing something! "

"What fresh hell is this?" Sheldon Cooper

"I'm super cereal!" and "GOBBLES" - South Park

Doctor Who here, too...

"Hey, who turned out the lights?"
"Hungry....feeeed me!"

Unfortunately, I've also picked up some of DHs favorite quotes from movies I don't even like! "All day long, sweet Suzy" from possibly one of the worst movies of all time, Kung Pao. And, from runner up worst movie of all time, Master of Disguise, "Am I not turtley enough for the turtle club? Turtle, turtle!"

Another recent and frequent one is from Anchorman, "Milk was a bad choice!" We often sub other words for milk and it seems to find its way into all sorts of conversations.

I didn't realize how often we use quotes from movies and tv until I read through all these posts.

One we use every time we change the sheets is "Jacque, you sheet!"
It's from the movie Jumping Jack Flash.
