In the other thread: Workshop Post Glitter Girl Jen and Shimelle asked what we wanted to see?
Here's my suggestion:
A journaling class. Something to help get me thinking beyond the 5 W's and H. After making the layout and showing the pretty papers, maybe the GG's could talk about what they wrote and how they decided that. Or how they fit the journaling on their page. Shimelle has said she looks at journaling as part of the design. What about the other GGs?
I'd love to see more use of electronic die cutting machines. Yes, there's the Cameo, but there's a few others that aren't limited to cartridges (like my beloved eClips) as well. And Cricut users could find basic shapes quite easily. Show me how to embellish what I cut with things from the TwoPeas store! Glitter and Washi and the little touches. Or even the digital stamps TwoPeas sells.
A Year in the Craftroom: Maybe rotate this between the different GG's giving each a month or two. Show us what you are working on, what product you are loving, how you are organizing it. Show me how to buy a 6x6 pad and turn it into thank you cards for after Christmas. Or how the entire new line from Echo Park can become a sweet banner for my living room. Of course, add a few scrap pages as well.
Who else has something they would like to see?
(Besides more answering the forum ala Glitter Girl. I think we've been pretty vocal about that ) |

I miss Nichol's stamping/scrapping style, so a regular series again with stamping techniques would be awesome! |

If you would like a journaling class, have you checked out this one by Jen Gallacher? It is a mini so I think it is only $12 but has a ton of really great ideas about now only what you write about, but how to include it on your pages. Definitely worth a look....
Jen's mini workshop
I love the Year in the Craftroom idea. I think it could be really inspiring to not just have photo tours, but video tours and they could include info about how they organize their stuff and how they got to that conclusion. And how it works for them..... |
I am a project lifer. That's why I am taking so many pictures.....

Hmm I really love to see a monthly two page layout. I'm still a two-page scrapper and love to see more examples of our garden girls.
And secondly an around the world challenge. in which a forum member can challenge a garden girl. and they both create their own example!

A series about electronic cutters would be amazing! Mine is grossly underutilized right now.

It's on my wishlist. Sadly, with an mid-October birthday, then the holidays, I'm banned from a lot of purchasing until January (something about stop buying your own birthday and Christmas presents? ) So, I'm waiting to see if I get it or I'll pick it up after Christmas.
But, I would still like to see more journaling from GGs. Most of the layouts that they post or show, the focus isn't on the journaling, so you can't really see what was added. I get that some journaling is super personal, but I would still bet there is some that is okay to share.
A Challenge one sounds so fun! Great idea mmdewit! |

Here's my suggestion. Call it "Technique each week." (See it rhymes. Pretty catchy huh? I've really thought this through!) Each week they would show a new technique to try on your pages. Such as week 1: How to use mists on your page. Week 2: Ombre. Week 3: Washi and its many uses, etc. etc. (I know these have been done here a lot, I'm just using them for examples.) With all the new techniques and products that come up, I am sure there are many ideas out there to use. Just wanted to throw my idea in the pot. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us for the next year.
p.s. I also love the 2 pager a week idea. I do almost all two pagers and that would be amazing to have weekly inspiration.

How about an Art Journaling class? A weekly class with art journaling prompts and techniques would be great. |

I really love the idea of a year in the craft room. What products they love and why, things they always use and never tire of,real life pictures of how their work space looks after a project is done and on and on. Each garden girl seems to have a technique they use over and over again . That would be fun to see ,too. |

I would like to see an art journalling/mixed media class.
And a "how to catch up" or "how to get a lot of photos scrapped in a night" series. Sometimes I just want to get a lot done!

I post my mess of a space on instagram if you want to peek. In fact, I just posted a photo today. Be forewarned...it is a HOT MESS! Just keepin' it real. It's always like that

My scrap room is getting moved to a new space in 6-8 weeks. Would LOVE to give you all a video tour once it's set up if that would be something you might be interested in.

LOVE the idea of "Technique a Week"! Even it's an 'older' technique, refreshers are always good.
I also vote for 2 page layouts... I put alot of pics on my layouts!

Another vote for scrapbook layouts! You could show off new product in the store and teach techniques, with the main goal of helping us get our photos scrapped onto beautiful pages.

I really like the technique a week idea. Sometimes it's easy to forget about some of those. It would be great to have a reminder.
I would also see a workshop on getting started in Art Journaling. I'd certainly buy that one. |
