I have a rider on my renters policy that covers my scrapbook stuff. I have like $6K in coverage. You could also bump up your contents coverage amount. For about $11 a month for my entire renters policy, I'd say it's worth it.

I consider my scrapbook stuff as much a part of my home as anything else. I would definitely replace it if something happened to it. I need to go through sometime and inventory or get a better idea of value - though that could be a scary realization! | |

Ive talked to DH about it, but he didn't think we need it. I don't think he realizes just how much it would cost to replace everything. We have a decent amount in our renters and he has extra coverage for all our electronics, but I think I should bring it up again. |

Ladies I so recommend insuring your goodies. It takes a long time and money to get the supplies we want. I had a fire in January and lost everything including my scrap room. I had a lot of goodies well over $30,000. It was insured and thankfully I am able to build up my stash. Jus twitting for my scrap room to be finished. Please please consider it.

I need to up my policy. Its been at least 5 years since I updated it and we all know how many supplies can be acquired over 5 years. Thanks for the reminder. |

I've thought about the cost/effort of replacing it all (mine is in the basement, so the possibility of flood damage is very real) but never thought about insurance. Guess what topic we'll be discussing during tomorrow morning's 'coffee chat'? |

When I was teaching and had 100x the supplies I have now plus, over 2,000 wood mounted stamps I had a personal property rider on my (then) renter's policy for $10,000. I made copies of my rubber stamp catalog (image/company/style number/cost) and kept them at my parents house in case anything happened to my place. The rider only added $2-3 a month at the time and was worth it to me. |
