What's in yours and do your items depend on the age of your children?

Yeah, no money in mine lol. Kids suck up every bit of that for sure.

I don't have much normal kid stuff. In fact I don't think I have any other than some lip gloss. Everything I have is for dd's diabetes. Skittles, glucose tabs, syringes, pump site change supplies etc. And I really don't need to carry that, she has her own purse and carries everything. But JUST IN CASE.

DD is 11. My mom purse items are a pad (we are at the age where some of her friends are getting their first period) and hair ties.

gar, I'm assuming the poster meant what do you carry (or find) in your handbag when you have kids - at least, I hope so, because of all the people I have ever known or met in the States, not one of them carries a separate one around for a 6-19 year old!

Nothing child related. He's 15 now & I have no reason to carry anything for him. But, I don't remember carrying anything for him when he was much younger.

Whatever item/s he was travelling with stayed in the car.

My purse contains the bare minimum. Wallet, pen, phone. If the purse is big enough, I will take my small camera. Sometimes you will find a checkbook in there, too.

The only exception is when I'm chaperoning his band competitions. Then I take my camera bag and include hair ties & bobby pins (He has long hair that needs pulled back & pinned.) and a couple extra reeds. Then, I end up with his phone & iPod. I need to add some chapstick/lipbalm, as it was requested (not by my son) this season.

I find all kinds of strange things in my purse, but I'm not the one who put them there. I once found a sock, plastic spoon and two broken crayons. I think my then 2 year old thought it was a good trade for my chapstick and an ink pen that I later found in her bedroom.

Some things I have in there for the kids are Band-aides, a small pack of wipes for hands, 2 chapsticks, hand sanitizer and hair ties. My children are 3 and 6

Right now?
1 toddler sock
Candy corn
An entire bag of cough drops in the bottom after being dumped.
4 chapsticks - he likes it and keeps finding more to put in there.

Most of the time I also have.

I don't have anything kid-related in my purse. I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old. I do keep a bag in the car with a change of clothes for each of them and a couple pull-ups and wipes for the toddler. I think there might be a few packages of fruit snacks and some crayons from Applebees.

A disposable nappy
Baby bottle
Small box of crayons
Roll of tape
Museli bar
Juice box
Wet wipes
Hair elastics
Ziplock bag of lego
Hand puppet
and some other random stuff.

I learnt from a pro. Our car broke down on our way up the coast when my boys were 1 and 5 and I ended up stranded at a McDonalds with the kids while hubby went in the towtruck. My purse and nappybag were left in the car, so I was completely stuck. I was just about ready to burst into tears when this lovely lady came up to me and sat me at a table.
She had all that stuff in her bag...even though she was a grandma. She just liked to be prepared. Thanks to her, I was able to change my youngest and give him a drink, while she entertained the five year old. My kids are 12 and 17 and I still have her "emergency kit" in my bag. Cos you never know when someone might need it.

I only have one purse. I don't have to carry stuff for my kids anymore though. I keep a few individually wrapped wipes in it (from BWW) but my dd carries her own epi pens now. Otherwise I have my phone, my ipod, my wallet w/ credit cards and store cards and ID, a pouch for receipts I want to save, a pen, a tiny flashlight, a credit card size magnifier that I always forget I have, nail clippers, tweezers, some loose coupons, some hard candy, hand sanitizer, a few napkins...I think that's the bulk of it.

ladypop, I love the roll of tape. I had one in my computer bag - which has enough in it most of the time to be my mom purse - when we were at a hotel recently. There were nails sticking up out of the carpet, so I was able to secure my note directly over the nails with the tape I had along.

The oddest thing in my bag right now is a needle for a syringe. It's all wrapped and safe from the farm store, but I just recently sold my very allergic horse. I always traveled with emergency meds for him and somehow the extra needles ended up in my bag.

DD and I are starting a volleyball season in another town and I think I'll throw together a good 'kit' we can take with us when we're on the road. Last night she was miserable without chapstick, so that's first thing to go in.
