I've never bought a fresh one before...but a local store is taking orders, I love their meat, and it seems reasonable to me. Just wondering

At the grocery store here, they're selling their store-brand turkeys for 59 cents a pound and "high-end" (butterball) turkeys for 99 cents a pound. So a local store -- is it locally grown meat? -- I would probably pay about $1 a pound or maybe slightly more. But I'm not very in touch with the price of turkeys, either.

Right. Those are for frozen turkeys, though. I've never bought fresh and am not sure if I need to LOL.

We pay about $40 for our-"not-so-big"-fresh turkey. But it is worth every penny! They taste so good.

I am paying $1.79/lb for my fresh turkey. It is hormone/antibiotic free and free range.
